• Analysis and Construction of Combinatorial Structures with Sparse Incidence Matrices

  本研究は、スパースな結合行列を持つ組合せ的構造を分析・構成し、デジタル指紋やグループ検査、多元接続通信などへ応用することを目的としている。今年度は特にマルチメディア指紋符号やグループ検査行列、代数操作検出符号の研究に力を入れた。 マルチメディア指紋について、weighted binary adder channelとの同値関係を示し、マルチメディア指紋符号の構成問題を離散幾何最適化問題に帰着した。さらに、マルチメディア指紋符号の符号語数のバウンドをグラフ理論を用いて確立し、効率の高い追跡アルゴリズムも開発した。指紋符号の構成に使われる最小距離が長いBCH符号も有限体を用いて構成し、その優れた性質を逆フリエ変換を用いて示した。 Separable matrixとdisjunct matrixはグループ検査における伝統的な検査行列であるが、separable matrixにもとづいた陽性特定アルゴリズムの効率が低いうえ、disjunct matrixにもとづいた陽性特定アルゴリズムの処理できるサンプル数が少ない。両方の良い点を維持し弱点を排除するために、我々はstrongly separable matrixを導入し、strongly separable matrixにもとづいた効率の高い陽性特定アルゴリズムが処理できるサンプル数が多いことを示した。 秘密分散法は放送型暗号系の鍵配送に使われる。秘密分散法におけるインサイダー攻撃を防ぐために、代数操作検出符号は十数年前から導入された。我々は共通鍵暗号系に密接に関連している非線形関数と代数操作検出符号との関係を明らかにし、最適な代数操作検出符号や性質の優れた非線形関数を構成した。 スパースな結合行列を調べるための基礎理論である有限幾何や組合せデザインなどについても性質を分析し、代数的及び組合せ論的手法により構成した。

  In this research, we forcused on some common combinatorial structure of codes, combinatorial dessigns, group testing, software testing. We are concerned with their optimality and constructions. Main results are as follows: (1) Constructions of optical orthogonal codes with large automorphisms are obtained. (2) The minimum distances and dimensions of a class of BCH codes are clarified. (3) Constructions of locating arrays for detecting t-way interactions are given. (4) Multiple decomposability of cyclic groups are clarified and its applications to cyclic combinatorial designs are found. (5) Constructions of circulant almost orthogonal arrays for estimating response curves are given.

  In this project, the following results for combinatorial structures related to information communication systems are obtained. (i) Constructions of conflict-avoiding codes with weights three and four are obtained. (ii) Constructions of affine-invariant SQSs are obtained. (iii) Quantum jump codes are charactelized as families of mutually orthogonal t-designs and their existence are discussed. (iv) Constructions of some optimal Euclidean designs on concentric spheres are obtained. (v) Optimality, in the sense of detecting probability of positive items, of a regular bipartite graph representing a group testing is clarified.


• Duality of statistical optimality and physical optimality for spherical designs and their constructions

  When we integrate some polynomial function on a n-dimensional sphere, if the integrand polynomial is at most degree 2, we clarified the condition on an optimal Euclidean design with two concentric spheres. Conditions on an optimal Euclidean design is given by (i) the ratio the radius of two spheres, (ii) the number of points chosen from each sphere and (iii) the configuration of points for each concentric sphere. We obtained such conditions that a cubature formula is optimal and gave constructions of Euclidean designs which satisfy the conditions. These results were accepted as papers for Sankha Indian Journal of Statistics, etc. Moreover, we introduced a notion of mutually orthogonal t-designs (t-MOD) over the complex number field. We examined some conditions for a t-MOD to be optimal. And we find that t-MOD is equivalent to a quantum jump code.


• A study of combinatorial constructions and geometric characterizations of cubature formulas

  We presented a number-theoretic characterization of the configuration of points of a minimal cubature formula, as well as some existence and non-existence results on such formulas of small degrees, by unifying techniques that have been developed in numerical analysis, algebraic combinatorics, discrete geometry and so on. We also characterize a minimal cubature formula whose point set consists of orbits of a finite irreducible reflection group.


• グラフのアドレス付け問題・BIBDの生起行列への分解問題

  今年度は、主に、quadruple systemの群論的構成法の研究に取り組んだ。quadruple systemとは、自然数t(t>2)に対して最小の非自明な組合せt-デザインのクラスである。巡回的デザインに関するdifference cycleの概念を一般の可換群版へと拡張したsymmetric blockを導入して、可換群を点正則な自己同型群にもつ指数3のquadruple systemの存在を示した。この結果を巡回群に特化させると、Kohlerの定理(1980)に一致する。 一方、対称ブロックからなるデザインがもつ諸性質についても吟味した。特に、上述の方法で得られたquadruple systemのブロック集合が、cyclic resolutionに分割されることを確認した。デザインのcyclicresolutionの存在問題は、beutelspacherの仕事(1974)に端を発する有限幾何学の古典的な問題であるが、一般のtに対して、この構造をもつデザインの存在性はこれまでほとんど知られていなかった。この点を鑑みて、私の結果は当該研究分野に先鞭をつけたといえる。 最近の研究によって、対称ブロックに付随する特殊な代数的グラフと、指数1のquadruplesystemが密接に関わっていることが明らかになったため、今後、quadruplesystemの存在問題はより直観的(幾何的)に取り組まれ、本質的な進展を遂げるだろうと期待している。
