    本研究は「サーベイ実験による政治情報伝達現象の国際協働研究」という大きなテーマ設定の下で、①国際組織の授権による対世論説得効果の分析、②見えない危機における政府声明の対世論情報効果の分析という二つの研究を行い、社会科学引用インデックス（Social Science Citation Index: SSCI）で評判の高い雑誌よりから複数の論文を刊行しようとするものである。①と②について、既に日本人との共著でSSCI論文を有するPIの多湖淳が統括をし、北海道大学の小濵祥子、神戸大学の松村尚子がそれぞれテーマを分担して、米国のDuke大学のGrieco教授、中国の香港大学のQuek助教授との協働を進めた。①国際組織の授権による対世論説得効果の分析については松村とGrieco、②見えない危機における政府声明の対世論情報効果の分析については小濵とQuekの組が協働を主導し、多湖が両者をさらにネットワーク化して相互の刺激し合いを促進し、政治情報伝達現象における国際比較実験研究の意義をまとめる研究を進めた。2019年度は、松村がDuke大学へ赴き共同研究の打ち合わせとともにファカルティに対するワークショップでの発表を通じてコメントを得たほか、多湖と小濵が香港大学に赴いて共同研究の打ち合わせとともにファカルティに対するワークショップでの発表を行った。国際的に著名なグリエコ教授とケック准教授とのコラボレーションは順調に進んでおり、今後は論文化を効率的に行うことだと考えている。

  • Dynamics of Political Violence and Legislatures

    先行研究の調査などを基に、プロジェクトに共通するリサーチ・クエスチョンや仮説の構築を進めた。その際、特に選挙制度や議員の政策的関心、各議員の出身地域の政治、そして国際環境に注目して仮説を設定した。 また、外部からの提案などを受けて、事例を再検討し、分析対象を準民主主義国に絞ることとした。このため、先行研究の調査や各国の政治制度の分析を行い、分析対象国をフィリピンなど数か国に絞った。 同時に、フィリピンについて、ミンダナオでの民族・宗教紛争や麻薬に対する戦争、イデオロギー（共産主義）紛争など、複数の紛争が並行していることを踏まえ、これらの紛争に対する議会の対応について、先行研究の調査や仮説の構築（選挙制度、人権政策、国際社会）を開始した。更に、議事録のテキスト・データの収集と整理、分析を開始した。テキスト・データのクリーニングや分析のために必要な議会・議員についてのデータ収集には多くの時間がかかるため、まずは直近の第17期議会について、議員の発言内容の分析などを先行して進めた。 同様に、準民主主義国のコロンビアも事例として選定した。コロンビアでは、主にイデオロギーに基づく紛争が長く続いている。この内コロンビア革命軍（FARC）については、2016年に和平が成立した。他方で、民族解放軍（ENL）などによる暴力は継続している。これらの複数の紛争に対する議会の対応について、先行研究の調査や仮説の構築、議事録のテキスト・データの収集を開始した。
