- 本稿は,近代日本のファミリービジネスが持つ独自性の一つでありながら,これまでほとんど考察が行われてこなかった養子による家督相続に焦点を当て,その特徴や傾向に基づき類型化を図り,分析を試みたものである。ここでは養子縁組までの経緯などを文献や資料から収集することが容易であると考えられる富裕企業家・商人層を分析対象とし,具体的に,養子による家業やビジネスの相続経緯や背景などを示している。また,実家・養家間のネットワークが果たした役割など経営史的な側面についても部分的な考察を試みている。本稿の特徴は,情報収集上の資料として,出版された文献のみならず政府の叙位・叙勲・褒章関係の公文書を渉猟し,その情報に基づいて新たな発見や仮説を提示したことにある。また,これらの情報に基づいて養子の経緯に従い,親族型,同階層間以上移動型,奉公型という3類型への分類を試み,各類型の特徴の相違点を指摘している。そして全般的には,養家側の親族ネットワークへの統合の可否が,養子の養家における地位の安定性を左右したことを示唆している。社会経済史学会, 2011年02月, 社会経済史学, 第76巻(4号) (4号), 593 - 608, 日本語[査読有り]研究論文（学術雑誌）

- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 基盤研究(B), 2019年04月 - 2023年03月工業化初期における技術移転の研究：明治期日本綿紡績業の経験日本の工業化を牽引した綿紡績業の発展は、19世紀後半におけるイギリスからの技術移転によって実現した。本研究の課題は、この技術移転の実態を、イギリスおよび日本の一次資料を駆使して解明することであった。研究期間中の大部分をコロナ禍の下に置かれ、本研究の眼目である英国への出張のみならず国内でも移動も困難な中で我々は、オンライン会議を通じて相互に連絡をとりつつ、思考を重ねて、さらに成果の公刊に務めた。とりわけ、コロナ禍の前後に実現できたイギリスでの資料調査の成果はすでに公開されつつあるが、そこで明らかにされたエンジニアリング企業の機械配置（ミルライト）や工場設計という新事実は画期的な発見といえよう。
