- The morphological evolution of a strained heteroepitaxial thin film of Si1-xGex/Si during deposition has been investigated by two-dimensional (2D) phase-field simulations. The phase-field model developed can form facet morphologies that are modeled using the generalized gradient correction coefficient for a crystal with a high anisotropy of surface energy, and can simulate the sequential shape transitions well known in the Si1-xGex/Si(0 0 1) system: a 2D wetting layer, faceted three-dimensional pyramids, and multifaceted domes. The effects of Ge composition and mobility on island formation and island evolution have also been studied. Some typical and important phenomena observed in previous experimental studies during Si1-xGe x/Si(0 0 1) heteroepitaxy have been simulated using the phase-field model. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. - This study intends to clarify the mechanical roles and structural stability of cell wall structures for crystalline solids by utilizing discrete dislocation dynamics method. Cell walls with several densities and interspacings (i.e., cell size) made up with periodically aligned dislocations and redundant dislocations are artificially constructed in a unit cubic area. - This paper extensively investigates the collective effects of number of composing grains on meso- and macroscopic plastic deformation characteristics of polycrystalline metals beyond the averaged response. A series of systematically designed finite element analyses based on polycrystal-line models with a common fixed-orientation region surrounded by different numbers of grains is made assuming plane strain two-slip systems. Stress supporting structure (SSS) and the dual flow carrying structure (FCS) are formed as a result of the collective deformation of the grains causing large fluctuation in the grain-wise stress-strain response, which are macroscopically invisible. These meso-scopically extended structures produce "remote effects" where the stress-strain response of a grain in the common region is affected not only by the immediate neighbors but also by the grains located in the distances. The affected region for the remote effect is identified to be containing about 400 grains within the present model. - This article describes quantum field theoretical approach which has been advocated by the author. Dipoler substructure formation is taken an example and the governing equation responsible for patterning is derived. - OS0518 Field-Theoretical Evaluation of Effect of Inhomogeneity on Bauschinger BehaviorThis paper intends to clarify the effect of inhomogeneity in grain aggregate scales on the Bauschinger behavior of polycrystals, which crucially affect the springback characteristics during the stamping processes, from a novel viewpoints based on the field theory of plasticity. A series of crystal plasticity-based FE simulations is carried out on dual phase polycrystalline models with 50% volume fraction of the hard phase. The relationship between elastic strain energy and incompatibility tensor field at maximum tensile stress is extensively examined. Linear relationships are found to hold for all the models. - OS1304 Dislocation Dynamics Simulation Considering Precipitation Hardening in High Cr Steels高速増殖炉の構造材料として高Crフェライト系耐熱鋼に求められる設計寿命は50万時間以上であるが,実験のみによる長時間域クリープ強度評価は困難である.したがって,シミュレーションを用いた評価技術の開発が急務の課題となっている.そこで本研究では,同材料中のラスマルテンサイト組織の損傷機構を明らかにするため,微細析出物を転位動力学コードに導入し,転位壁構造の挙動に及ぼす影響を調べた.また微細析出物の粗大化に関して,静水圧応力に依存した支配方程式を提案し,その不均質性からくる転位組織の不安定化についても述べる.The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, 16 Sep. 2008, M&M材料力学カンファレンス, 2008, "OS1304 - 1"-"OS1304-2", Japanese

- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 奨励研究(A), 同志社大学, 1998 - 1999場の理論に基づく高次結晶塑性理論の構築本年度は大きくは,(a)転位ゲージ場理論に基づく第一原理Hamiltonianの導出と有効理論の評価,(b)弾性変形を考慮したGinzburg-Landau方程式に基づくセル組織形成シミュレーション,および(c)結晶塑性理論に基づくFCCおよびBCC金属の微視的構成モデルの構築の3点に関して検討を行った.(a)では,転位のゲージ場理論の枠組みにおいて,弾性場と転位場および両者の相互作用場を含む転位論的第一原理Hamiltonianを厳密に導出し,立方異方性の場合に対する具体形を求めた.さらに,虚時間形式のFyenmann経路積分により分配関数を評価し,弾性場の体積変化部分と転位場に関する有効Hamiltonianを導出した.これからGinzburg-Landauの自由エネルギ汎関数を求め,さらに保存系・非保存系に対するGinzburg-Landau(GL)方程式を導いた.(b)では,2相合金の相分離に対して適用されている方程式と,(a)で得たGL方程式との類似性に着目し,セル形成過程メカニズムについて考察を加えた.同モデルに基づき2次元パターン形成のシミュレーションを実施し,セル壁-セル内部間の弾性ミスフィットひずみや弾性異方性がセル組織形成に及ぼす影響について調べた.(c)では,セルなどの転位下部組織の自発的形成を考慮した硬化発展モデルを提案し,結晶塑性理論の枠内で種々の負荷条件に対する計算を行った.とくに温度の効果および回復過程のモデル化を新たに行った.また,BCC金属に対しても適用できるようモデルの拡張を図った. 以上の研究成果に加え,昨年度に引き続き研究代表者は場の理論や高次結晶塑性理論に関する各種ワークショップやオーガナイズドセッションを企画・実施し,関連分野の研究者との連携を密に図っている.また,1999年6月には米国機械学会(ASME)のAnnual Meetingにおいて「勾配塑性論とその応用に関するシンポジウム」をオーガナイズした.同シンポジウムには当該分野の一線の研究者が参集,活発な議論が展開された.さらに2000年8月にはLos Angelesで開催されるICES'2Kにおいて,「塑性におけるマルチスケールモデリングとシミュレーション」に関するシンポジウムの開催を予定している.
- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 萌芽的研究, 同志社大学, 1996 - 1997非リーマン塑性論とその応用に関する研究本年度は,とくに場の理論(量子論)的アプローチを新たに導入することにより現象を自ら駆動し得る理論体系への拡張を図った.パターン形成を含む転位過程を巨視的数の転位集団が示す協同現象.すなわち一種の相転移と捉え,その合理的記述に「場」の概念と理論的手法を用いた.まず転位を秩序場の素励起と捉え,現象論であるGinzburg-Landau理論に基づき,支配方程式(Ginzburg-Landau方程式)を導出し,これが反応-拡散方程式と一致することを示した.また,同方程式は,結晶体内で転位群を含む系の第二量子化されたハミルトニアンが与えられれば,原理的に厳密に導出できることをGor'kovの方法に基づき指摘した.さらに,転位は結晶空間というそれ自身トポロジカルな背景にあるトポロジカルな欠陥であり,したがって,転位を背景と独立した自由粒子的に取り扱うことはできない.すなわち,背景場との相互作用を考慮する必要がある.そのための二通りの方法.すなわち(1)ゲージ場を導入する.および(2)微分幾何学的制約条件を課す,を提案した.両者は数学的に等価であり.とくに(1)のゲージ場を導入することにより,ゲージ変換に伴う理論(作用積分)の不変性の要請から接続係数,さらにはねじれや曲率が自然に導入され,非リーマン塑性論における欠陥場との対応関係が得られることを示した.最後に,より複雑な転位挙動,すなわち転位tangleによる3次元セル構造形成等に対しては,新たなゲージ場の導入が必要であることを指摘した.一例としてChern-Simonsゲージ場を導入した場合について検討を加えた.すなわち,同ゲージ汎関数を経路積分で表した形式は2特異線間の相関関数を意味するが,これはGaussの絡み数と呼ばれる位相不変量を与えることが知られている.上記特異線を転位線とみなすと,このことは転位間のentlanglement挙動が,そのミクロな詳細に依存しない大域的な位相不変量で記述できる可能性を示唆している.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for General Scientific Research (B), KYOTO UNIVERSITY, 1992 - 1994Computaional Study of Powder Compaction Process with a View to Particles DesigningThis study deals with investigation into the behavior of powder materials from the state of "granular" through compact by means of computational scientific approach and thus to obtain useful information on particles designing ; we shall develop and establish "Particle Dynamics" or Distinct Element Method. We obtained the following results : 1) By introducing for the particulate modeling the particle characteristics, such as particle size, size distribution and deformation characteristics, inter-particle ones, such as friction and elastic repulsive forces, we have developed an algorithm for simulation. We have thereby characterized some ceramic powder during compaction. We also evaluate the effect of inter-particle characteristics on apparent density, tap density and angle of repose. 2) For ductile metallic powders, we have developed particulate model in 3-D with incorporating shape change in particle due to plastic defomiation. We have thus improved the relationship between pressure and density. 3) We have obtained yield surface which are similar to those obtained by three-dimensional compaction and estimated by constitutive equations for powders. 4) By incorporating the effect of magnetic field into the above algorithm, we have developed simulation program for compaction of magnetic powders in magnetic field with a view to optimizing the magnetic properties of compact magnet. We have thereby shown that isostatic compaction gives the best property followed by cross conipaction and then parallel comipaction. 5) We have also developed algorithm for simulating the behavior of non-spherical particles, because the shape of the particles gives great influence on powder characteristics. For future study, the quantitative difference in pressure-density relationship between the simulation and experiment should be decreased and the effect of particle shape on powder behavior should further be investigated.
