    Previously, a parent support program was implemented through interdisciplinary efforts by special care dentistry, clinical philosophy, clinical psychology, and pediatric nursing. At that time, it was not possible to provide support to the most troubled parents or to connect to social welfare services. This time, we planned to develop a new parent support program with an interdisciplinary team that newly added experts in social welfare. We also conducted a questionnaire survey to explore the psychological support needs and mental health of parents of patients visiting special care dentistry and their background. We investigated psychological support needs, health-related quality of life and parenting stress in parents of patients with special needs who visited the Special Care Dentistry Department, Osaka University Dental Hospital. The number of responding parents was 32, and the age range was 38 to 83 years (2 non-responders). There were 30 mothers, 1 father, and 1 unlisted. The children were 17 with autism spectrum disorder, 6 with intellectual disability, 6 with Down syndrome, and 3 with physical disabilities. Parents’ psychological support needs were high, and on average, health-related quality of life was low, and parenting stress tended to be strong. It was shown that parenting stress, QOL related to mental health, and high psychological support needs are interrelated. Furthermore, it was shown that the use of welfare services may reduce parents’ psychological support needs. From the above, in parental support in special care dentistry, it is important to have a place for psychological support, including dealing with parenting stress and connecting to social welfare services. Accordingly, it is useful to build a special care dental setting as a “place” for providing psychological support to parents and discussing daily difficulties such as parenting stress, and as a “place” that connects to psychological counseling and social welfare services.

    Speech language pathology needs to be linked with philosophy. Those with communication impairments encounter many problems when engaging in conversation with others. Does only the speaker(s) bear the responsibility to make their speech intelligible? In order to answer this question, I suggest that a Wittgensteinian approach offers original insights into speech as an intersubjective phenomenon. By exploring my experiences of having speech difficulties due to cerebral palsy, I shall argue that the unintelligibility of my voice is not simply my failure to achieve the able-spoken standard(s) of speech, but also the failure of others to recognise my utterance as speech. I hope to offer a different account of the voice that defines the human voice as intelligible speech - one that provides a more appropriate philosophical diversity for understanding the ethics of articulation. © 2013 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.

    In the social system in which we live, the imaginary body is an able body. The able-bodied has established its representations that are the projection of able-bodied subjectivities. In this article, I shall develop a psychoanalytic account of physical disability in order to open up possibilities for physical disability beyond its position as castrated able-bodiedness. Psychoanalysis, to me, is not simply about 'sexuality' but can also be used to analyse 'physical disability', indeed all aspects of one's subjectivity. I shall propose the appropriation of psychoanalysis to explain the construction of subjectivity, whether it is able-bodied or disabled in a way that parallels the male/female dichotomy. Within an able-bodied symbolic, in which the able-bodied takes itself as normal, it is impossible to illustrate the multiplicity of the disabled. Following Irigaray's claim that the ambiguity of female sexuality does riot conform, to male notions of sexuality, I argue that the complexity of the disabled body does not fit into the able-bodied norm of subjectivity. In this article, I shall be drawing on Irigaray's theory of embodied subjectivity to argue against the masculine-able-bodied-based theory of subjectivity found in Freud and Lacan.

    <p>In a special care dentistry setting, there are many patients who have faced various difficulties in their day-to-day lives. In the process of administering dental treatment and promoting oral health, support for the parents who look after their children with disabilities is often necessary along with support for the patients themselves. This interdisciplinary study examined parental support from four different perspectives：special care dentistry, clinical philosophy, clinical psychology and pediatric nursing. The study was carried out by questionnaire in the Division of Special Care Dentistry at the Osaka University Dental Hospital. Both patients and their parents were asked about their psychological and family needs. Afterwards, psychological counseling sessions with 7 mothers were conducted and 18 philosophy cafés were held. In the psychological counseling sessions, it was revealed that many parents of children with disabilities had a strong desire to talk about the issues they face. In the philosophy café sessions, it was revealed that the parents benefited from discussing their experiences of looking after children with disabilities with those in a similar position. The philosophy café provided a safe environment where the parents' experiences and coping strategies for looking after children could be shared and discussed openly. Throughout the interdisciplinary study, it was found that there is a need for parental support in special care dentistry. It is paramount for all dental and medical institutions to provide a place where the parents can talk about their experiences and think about what their children need and what they as parents and caregivers need. Along with the possibility of helping to build a new support network, it was shown that feedback from patients and family members may help improve the quality of special care dentistry.</p><p>This study clarified the need for comprehensive support for patients and their families in special care dentistry, and revealed that if a satisfactory level of care is to be offered in special care dentistry, a place where the parents or caregivers can share their experiences is necessary, as is feedback from the people with disabilities. If we take the experiences of both parents and people with disabilities into account, a better support network can be provided.</p>

    2020年度の本研究は、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大の影響に伴い、計画通りには研究を実施できなかった。全ての対話実践、学会報告、シンポジウムがオンラインでの開催となり、研究代表者、研究分担者たちは暗中模索の状態でそれぞれの研究活動を続けた。2020年度は以下の5つの対話実践・研究を遂行した。
    ①大学院のオンライン対話を使った授業実践とその考察、②不登校と哲学プラクティスをテーマにしたシンポジウムの開催、③社会規範をテーマにした対話実践、④釜ヶ崎（あいりん地区）の変容するコミュニティの中で多様性を考えるためのイベント、⑤コロナ禍におけるマイノリティ当事者の不安.心配に関するオンライン調査
    研究代表者の稲原と分担者の中川・津田は、①を行い、その実践報告を日本哲学プラクティス連絡会第6回大会で発表した。②に関しては、稲原と中川は2021年1月30日にオンライン・シンポジウム「不登校と哲学プラクティス」を企画し、開催した。不登校支援をしている実践者や不登校を経験した当事者に登壇していただき、一般参加者たちと共にこのテーマをめぐる様々な問題について議論できた。③については、研究分担者の梶谷と稲原がそれぞれオンライン哲学カフェや対話イベントを企画し、運営している。梶谷に関しては、本研究と関連するものだけでも8つの哲学カフェや対話イベントを開催した。稲原に関していうと、3回のオンライン哲学カフェを開催した。研究分担者の高橋とほんまは、④のイベント「カマは燃えている／ ココ〈ボール〉ルームでなりたい自分になる～あらためて"多様性"をかんがえる連続企画」の企画・運営に携わり、イベントの司会進行役などを担当した。最後に、研究分担者の村山は、リスク学の見地からコロナ禍のマイノリティ当事者の不安・心配を明らかにするために、オンライン調査を実施した。この調査結果をもとに、哲学対話のテーマ決めを行う。

    2020年度は、新型コロナ感染拡大のためにフィールドワークやアクションリサーチの実施の多くが困難になり、代替措置としてWEBを活用した量的調査を実施した。調査は、20歳以上の男女に対して、文化芸術活動に対する理解や障害者の芸術活動に対する理解、障害者問題に対する理解の程度を尋ね、文化芸術への意識の高さと障害者問題への理解の深さの相関性を把握するものとして設計した。 また、これも昨年度末に新型コロナ感染拡大のために延期としていた日韓交流セミナー「知的障害者の舞台芸術とその支援」を、12月19日にオンラインによって開催することができ、日韓の研究者、実践家からエンパワメント評価の観点や支援のあり方についての情報や知見を得た。 アクションリサーチについては、「のびやかスペース」の活動において、オンラインでプログラムを展開することとなり、その動きを利用してＷＥＢを用いた文化芸術活動やその発信を試行した。この経験により、オンラインでの活動に着眼する契機を得た。 また、アクションリサーチのフィールドとして神戸大学附属特別支援学校との連携を深め、また前年度に行なったフィールドワークの記録に基づいた討議を行ない、論文としてまとめた。 障害者の文化芸術活動実践の情報収集については、引き続き意識的に行なった。特に兵庫県内の多様な活動の情報整理を進めた。昨年度まで集約した情報については、ＷＥＢページで公開するとともに、その情報を介した実践者との関係形成にも努めた。

    The QOL, parenting stress, emotional expression and psychological support needs of parents with children with special needs who visit the Special Care Dentistry, Osaka University Dental Hospital were investigated. We constructed and put into practice a parent support program. It was suggested that parents need to receive specialized mental care at a facility where their children receives support. The mental condition of patients and their families was improved and the burden on medical staff was reduced. In addition, providing information to parents through dialogues and lectures, etc., providing a place to talk with peers and professionals, and continuous involvement of psychologists and social workers may help to care the mental of parents.

    This project based on collaboration with Nordic phenomenologists was intended to focus on the vulnerability and the limitations of human beings and phenomenologically investigate concrete problems such as birth, aging, illness, death, disability, pain, sex and gender. Every year we had collaborative meetings with Nordic phenomenologists, sent two or three members to the annual conference of the Nordic Society for Phenomenology and organized two round tables at the World Congress of Philosophy in Beijing 2018. Also we organized domestic meetings totally ten times, made mutual exchange of opinions on each result of research and edited a report (unpublished), so that we could began a negotiation with a publisher about a possibility to publish a book in the near future.

    This research project, based on the practice of tojisha-kenkyu (self-directed studies), was carried out in order to understand both those who have difficulties to express anything in language and symptom which they find difficult to express using language. Both Ms. Emma Gran, who has taught dance classes in special needs schools in Sweden (the first year of this project), and Dr. Deborah Padfield, who has practiced co-creating artwork with chronic pain patients in the UK (the second year of this project), were invited to conduct a workshop and to be a keynote speaker in international symposiums. In this research project, we studied those practices with a phenomenological approach. The project attempted to answer the question as to how subjects who cannot use any verbal expression can improve their communication, and reconsidered the way of conducting tojisha-kenkyu and self-help practices.

    1.The relations among the concepts of 'difficult cases', 'social capital' and 'key competency' were discussed and clarified. 2.With understing that community empowerment as well as individual empowerment is essential to the 'difficult cases' which are not solved by institutional support, the conditions of community empowerment were clarified in relation with social capital. 3.Community empowerment of specific 'difficult cases' was discussed. Specific cases were found in the field of dizaster stricken areaa, disability communities, communities in poverty in developing countries, learning communities in schools, distinguishing rural communities, child care communities and so on. 4. the methodology of community empowerment which makes the community produce social capital and key competency wass discussed and the effect of community empowerment was verified.

    This project conducted in three stages: (1) the research on philosophy of disability and disease, (2) exploration of both Self-Directed Research and Philosophical Counseling, (3) and the construction of a new self-help practice after a comprehensive research on Self-Directed Research and Philosophical Counseling. In particular, applying philosophical counseling for self-help programs, each person with physical disability not only considers their day-to-day conditions but also sees how disability affects their own behavior and way of life. In the past, people with disabilities were treated as the object of protection by medicine and social welfare, however, the project has recaptured those with disabilities as a social being. In order to promote this way, the project developed a philosophical way of analyzing the embodied self.

    05 Dec. 2021, zoom, 【シンポジウム】 「現象学とエンパワメント」 司会：池田喬（明治大学） 稲原美苗（神戸大学） 提題者： 石田絵美子（兵庫医療大学） 宮原優（立命館大学） 前田拓也（神戸学院大学） 現象学は社会学が関心をもつテーマを扱うときに頻繁に呼び出されてきた。ジェンダーと疾病や障害はその典型である。かつては精神疾患への現象学的アプローチが影響力をもったが、その後、精神障害に限らず、様々な疾病や障害への現象学的アプローチが試みられてきた。石田絵美子氏の『「進化」する身体: 筋ジストロフィー病棟における語りの現象学』（ナカニシヤ出版、2019年）はその最近の成果である。また、ジェンダーについても「フェミニスト現象学」が世界的に大きな研究領域となり、日本でも稲原美苗・川崎唯史・中澤瞳・宮原優編『フェミニスト現象学入門』（ナカニシヤ出版、2020年）が出版されるに至っている。 こうした展開において「現象学」に託されているのは、一人称的経験の記述だとひとまず言える。一人称的経験の記述の価値は、当然のことながら、三人称的観点からの説明的記述と同じ基準では測れない。三人称的で客観的記述と称するものの正確さではなく、むしろこれとは別の意味での記述の価値を人が現象学に認めるとき、現象学的な経験の記述には広い意味で「エンパワメント」のはたらきがあるという理解が含まれているように思われる。つまり、社会的に抑圧されたり不利な立場に置かれた人々が自らの状況を理解したり、自分自身について語るための言葉を獲得したり、以前より生活を自分でコントロールし、自分らしく生きたりできるように支援すること、そうした支援になる考え方を促進すること、などである。 学問の価値は、必ずしも正確な記述と称されるもので判定されるわけではなく、プラグマティストが考えるように、日常生活の問題を改善するという観点から評価されることもできる。その学問が無力化された人々をエンパワーするという観点から、その学問の価値を考えることも可能だろう。そもそもフェミニズムや障害学はエンパワメントの課題と密接に結びついてきたのだから、現象学が、ジェンダーや障害のテーマと関わるときにもエンパワメントの観点からその価値を再考することには意味があると思われる。 そこで本シンポジウム「現象学とエンパワメント」では、障害とジェンダーに関する現象学的研究をされている石田絵美子氏（兵庫医療大学）と宮原優氏（立命館大学）に加え、福祉社会学と障害学の研究者である前田拓也氏をお迎えし、エンパワメントの観点から見たとき現象学はどのような学問的アプローチとして現れるのかを社会学の観点を踏まえて考えたい。まず、進行性・難治性の病をもつ人々の経験を現象学的に記述することで，ステレオタイプ的な見方とは異なるその人々の姿を示してきた石田絵美子氏（兵庫医療大学）のご提題では、こうした現象学的記述がもちうるエンパワメントの可能性が考察される。次に、月経などの女性の身体経験の現象学的研究に従事してきた宮原優氏（立命館大学）のご提題では、乳児のケアの現象学的分析に行われ、それによって保育者のニーズを描出することが試みられる。最後に、前田拓也氏（神戸学院大学）のご提題では、障害者自立生活運動の実践において健常者が障害者の介助を「できるようになっていく」プロセスに注目し、このプロセスは介助する/される関係性のなかでどのように経験されるのか、それらの記述のもつ意義は何かが考察される。以上の三つの提題のあとには全体討議を通じて「現象学とエンパワメント」というテーマについての理解を深め、今後の課題を明確にしたい。 （企画実施責任者：池田喬・稲原美苗）, International academic contribution
