- 現在の大学では、「産学官連携」、「文理融合」、「異分野共創」など、異なるものが相互に関係する状態を表す言葉に触れることが多い。しかし、「連携」、「融合」、「共創」という言葉の意味の違いや「異分野共創」と具体的にどんな関係があるのか等についてはよく分からない。神戸大学では、“知と人を創る「異分野共創研究教育グローバル拠点」を目指す”ことがビジョンの中で掲げられている。異分野共創とは大学や企業などのセクション、さまざまな学問分野など、分野を超えて交流し、新しいモノやコトを創造していくことを指す。異分野共創という言葉をスローガンとして取り扱うだけではなく、その概念を十分に理解し、実際の取り組みに落とし込むことによって新しい価値を生み出していくことが大学に求められていることである。本論文では、問題解決における「問題認識」を題材にして「共創」という概念、そして学問が交わる異分野共創の場である学際領域とは何かを考え、大学の研究や教育に対する影響について論じてみる。神戸大学大学教育推進機構, Mar. 2023, 大學教育研究, 31, 131 - 140, Japanese

- One of the great unsolved GNSS problems is inaccuracy in urban canyons due to Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) signal reception. Owing to several studies about the NLOS signal rejection method, almost all NLOS signals can be excluded from the calculation of the position. However, such precise NLOS rejection would make satellite geometry poor, especially in dense urban environments. This paper points out, through numerical simulations and theoretical analysis, that poor satellite geometry leads to unintentional performance degradation of the Kalman filter with a conventional technique to prevent filter divergence. The conventional technique is to bump up process noise covariance, and causes unnecessary inflation of estimation-error covariance when satellite geometry is poor. We propose a novel choice of process noise covariance based on satellite geometry that can reduce such unnecessary inflation. - The DC microgrid system is one of hopeful candidate of the community-level power systems including renewable energy sources. This paper proposes an abstract system model of DC microgrid systems for fast and accurate simulation toward long-term virtual experiment of the DC microgrid system. We constructed the abstract system model based on the specification of the DC microgrid system. - Recent years have seen a great deal of research into Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications, which will contribute to advances in driving support systems. In contrast to V2I communications, V2V communications offer the advantage of not requiring infrastructure, but introduction of such systems is not expected to be effective unless there is sufficient penetration by On-Board Units (OBUs). For that reason, it is essential to determine what extent of penetration should be encouraged in the initial stage in order to attain effectiveness. Therefore, we focus on the fact that even though Large Vehicles (LVs) such as large commercial freight carriers are large and tall, and are obstacles blocking V2V communications from the viewpoint of Small Vehicles (SVs), antennas on LVs could also be used to relay communications, thereby facilitating the success of such systems.日本シミュレーション学会, Dec. 2015, 日本シミュレーション学会論文誌, 7(4) (4), 125 - 133, Japanese
This paper presents experiment s simulating traffic environment s consisting of mixed LVs and SVs, and examined how data V2V communication distribution rates varied with changes of the percentage of vehicles equipped with OBUs. - 二次元通信システムにおける定在波を考慮した入力点選択型給電方式に関する研究二次元通信システムとは,シート状通信媒体を用いた通信システムであり,シート内にマイクロ波を閉じ込めて伝搬させることでシート上の端末に限定した通信と給電を同時に実現することをねらっている.しかし,二次元通信システムにおける給電には課題がある.シンクノードからシートに入力されたマイクロ波は反射によって定在波を形成する.このため受信電力が弱くなるヌル点が複数形成され,このヌル点上の端末への給電効率は低くなる.そこで本論文では,入力点の位置に応じてヌル点の位置も変化することに着目し,複数の入力点を適切に切り換えることによって複数端末に対し総給電量を減らすように給電を行う入力点選択型給電方式を提案する.また,どの入力点からどれだけの期間,どのような順番で給電すると給電量を最小化できるかという給電量最小化問題として定式化する.この問題を解くためには,ある入力点から一定時間給電後のセンサノードのキャパシタ電圧を知る必要がある.本論文では,具体的なセンサノードのインピーダンスや受信電力を知ることなく,センサノードのキャパシタ電圧の推移から一定時間給電後のセンサノードのキャパシタ電圧を推定する方法も併せて検討する.例題において,提案方式が従来の一つの入力点を使った給電方式に比べて給電時間を87.6%減らすことができ,一点入力では十分な給電が不可能な例においても提案方式によって十分な給電が可能であることが示された.The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, Dec. 2013, 電子情報通信学会論文誌B, J96-B(12) (12), 1342 - 1354, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- This paper presents a way to acquire effective rule-sets for realizing the suitable distribution of cruising taxicabs based on a decentralized autonomous manner. As a result of the revision of Road Transportation Law, a taxi business have been saturated by new entries, and rookie drivers particularly have a lot of difficulty in finding passengers, because of the lack of the knowledge or experiences. Here, it is desired and effective for less-experienced drivers to design a support system which suggests potential destinations for finding passengers. As for the problem of distributing cruising taxicabs, there are many uncertainties caused by incomplete observations, e.g. locations of passengers as well as other taxicabs. Due to these uncertainties, it is impossible to distribute taxicabs optimally, e.g., by a certain centralized control. This paper proposes a decentralized and autonomous framework for distributing cruising taxicabs by adopting priority-based rules, which calculate the priorities of areas, which are to be adjusted according to the situations of each taxicab. - In general, it is not easy to put Reinforcement Learning into practical use. Our approach mainly deals with the problem of designing state and action spaces. Recently, we have proposed a co-construction method of state and action spaces. In this paper, we propose a detection method of environmental changes and a co-construction method by partially enlarging of the calibration of state and action spaces to adapt dynamic environment. - Deterministic Moel for Reactive Scheduling – Schedule Multiplexing Approach –This study proposes a new decision-making model based on static optimization from the objective standpoint that we evaluate dynamics of reactive scheduling activity. We first define a object corresponding to a event such as job/task processing and disruption, that can be represented on a time table, and then introduce a partial schedule after the occurrence time of each object. Under the assumption that information about each object is utilized after its occurrence time point, the whole schedule of a given problem can be composed by some partial schedule which does not overlap each other. The process of partial schedules composition is called schedule multiplexing in this study. Based on schedule multiplexing, we define a static reactive scheduling problem minimizing a scheduling frequency together with primal function of the job completion times, and we also formulate a mixed integer programming for that problem. The feasible solution of the problem provides the necessity minimum number of partial schedules for a given predictable events. - In the present paper, a dynamic programming (DP) approach for elevator operation problems is reported, in which two kinds of the design of DP algorithms are introduced. One (Value Iteration; VI) is rather naive imple-mentation of DP concept to the problems, and the other (Dynamic Programming on Reduced Models; DPRM) isan improved version in computational efficiency by reducing the accuracy of the utilized state transition model. In computational illustrations, the VI and the DPRM are applied to two types of the problems of small sized, and it is observed that the computational time required in applying the DPRM is much less than that in applying the VI for each problem, while the results obtained by both methods are almost equal with respect to not only averaged but also maximum waiting time over passengers. - In this paper, we show an approach to acquire a rule which is capable of achieving effective elevator services. The allocation of elevators to hall calls is taken as the decision variable and the Pitt approach of a Genetics-Based Machine Learning (GBML) method is designed according to the representation and the characteristics of the problem. We use a rule architecture in which a combination of some measures is directly encoded as a unit-rule and an elevator allocation procedure is represented as a rule set composed of some unit-rules. Five measures are developed based on the results of the preliminary experiment and it is shown that the rule as the weighted summation of the measures (called WS) is more effective than a conventional elevator allocation rule. In computational experiments, the up-peak, down-peak and two-way traffic patterns are considered and three rule sets are acquired by applying the GBML method. - One of the important factors in building scheduling models is how well they can manage uncertainties in the dynamic manufacturing environment. Reactive scheduling, which is recognized as a practical approach to solve this problem, aims to cope with unexpected events by promptly revising or regenerating the existing schedule. However, the previous works on reactive scheduling had addressed neither its generic model nor framework. This paper proposes a formal model for reactive scheduling problems to build the problem-solving framework of the reactive approach. We first define the problem of reactive scheduling which consists of two sub problems-a schedule generation problem and a when-to-schedule problem, on the basis of a snapshot. Secondly, by using these problems, we provide a kind of taxonomy which is capable of classification of the previous reactive scheduling techniques based on the proposed framework. - Recently, as performance of computers improves, it is possible to simulate larger-scale and more detailed traffic flows. In this paper, a road traffic system is modeled as a hierarchical autonomous decentralized system by constructing three kinds of the model which correspond to roads, vehicles and drivers respectively. By modeling the vehicles and drivers separately, it is possible to consider independently a physical dynamics of the system and issues related to information and decision makings. By comparing the results of simulation using the proposed model with those obtained by the Underwood model, the validity of the proposed model has been confirmed. Moreover, the typical phenomenon in actual traffic flows in sag has been also observed in the simulation. - Reinforcement learning(RL) attracts attention as a technique of realizing autonomous systems. However, in general, it is not easy to put RL into practical use. This difficulties include the problem of designing a reasonable state space of an agent contains two requirements in trade-off: to reduce the search space as much as possible in order to make a learning process be fast and to keep the characteristics of the search space as much as possible in order to seek better strategies. In this paper, it is considered to satisfy the above requirements. We newly introduced a concept of a "state space filtering". Then, we proposed an acquisition method which is to adjust the search space adaptively by referring to an entropy. - In this paper, we discuss fast training of a support vector machine for pattern classification by extracting training data around the class boundaries, and then compare performance of the support vector machine with that of a fuzzy classifier with ellipsoidal regions. First, we discuss the architecture and the training method of the support vector machine. Then, we discuss how to extract boundary data from the training data. Next, we summarize the architecture of the fuzzy classifier and discuss a feature extraction method using a two-layer neural network. - This paper introduces a co-evolutionary approach to Genetic Algorithms (GAs) for exploring not only solution candidates but also their genetic expressions. Two GAs cooperate each other; one explores the arrangement of genes while the other explores the attributes of genes. The genetic expression of a solution candidate is determined by a couple of individuals from the two GAs, therefore it is not modified directly but modified through genetic operations on the individuals. This improves the intrinsic difficulty of GAs that the genetic expressions of solution candidates should be determined beforehand so that unknown better schemata will have the shorter expressions. According to the schemata theorem, the shorter expressions are rather robust to the destruction by the genetic operations and will cause an exponentially increasing number of the solution candidates containing the schemata with the short expressions in successive generations. Two typical ways of determining genetic expressions of the solution candidates from the arrangement and the attributes of genes are formalized and discussed in terms of the length of the expressions for the schemata. They are applied to the 3-bit deceptive problems introduced by D.E. Goldberg which are well-known by that the efficiency of the genetic expression can be controlled by the fitness evaluation procedure. As a result of computer simulations, the proposed method showed a better performance than the simple GA. - In this paper, we discuss a robust training method for a fuzzy classifier with ellipsoidal regions. First, we define a fuzzy rule for each class. Next, we determine the weight for each training datum Dy the two-stage method in order to suppress the effect of outliers. Then, using these weights, we calculate the center and covariance matrix of the ellipsoidal region for each class and tune the Fuzzy rules. After tuning, to further improve generalization ability, we tune fuzzy rules between two classes using the training data in the class boundary. - This paper proposes a method of generating and selecting rules for adjusting the priorities of jobs by using a genetics-based machine learning (GBML) technique, where a state feedback structure is newly introduced. In applying the GBML, we use the Pitts approaches, where the set of rules (rule-set) are represented symbolically as an individual of genetic algorithms, and the fitness of an individual is calculated based on the makespan of the schedule generated by using the rule-set. As for a rule representation, we consider several attributes and status of a job in order to calculate its priority as a weighted sum of these attributes. - In this paper, we study identical parallel machine scheduling problems with a non-regular objective function, i.e., with the sum of earliness and tardiness penalties. We adopt the decomposition approach, where an original problem is decomposed into three kinds of sub-problems: to determine the assignment of jobs to machines, the sequence of jobs on each machine, and the start time of each job. Then, we construct solution methods of each sub-problems by composing new heuristic procedures as well as adopting meta-heuristic algorithms. - For successful applications of the genetic algorithm, there are two important points to be considered. The first point is the design of the fitness landscape introduced by the representation of the solution as a chromosome and searching operations such as crossover and mutation. The second is control of the convergence brought about by the selection operation. In the conventional implementation of GA, these two points are mutually dependent, i.e., a suitable selection pressure varies largely depending on, e.g., the crossover operator. Hence, it requires much trial-and-error effort to find a nice configuration of GA. In the present paper, the authors apply a novel selection rule, the Thermodynamical Genetic Algorithm (TDGA) proposed by Mori et al. to the traveling salesman problem (TSP), and propose an adaptive annealing schedule of the temperature in TDGA. Computer simulation with several crossover operators for TSP shows that TDGA reduces the mutual dependency between the fitness landscape and the convergence process. Furthermore, TDGA is applied to a hybrid algorithm which combines GA with the 2-opt method, a local search technique. - In this paper, a scheduling problem in a plastics forming plant is studied. This problem basically belongs to the class of unrelated parallel machine problems, but includes several restrictions which originate from the necessity to use auxiliary equipment. Thus it can be regarded as an example of complex scheduling problems arising in industries. The paper presents a new scope for the study of practical scheduling problems by proposing a method to solve them without relying upon dispatching rules. First, we transform the scheduling problem to a mathematical programming problem, and represent feasible schedules by binary strings. This formulation enables to use the search methods (such as simulated annealing methods, genetic algorithms, etc.). We actually coded several search methods and carried out computational experiments for the problems of practical size. - The genetic algorithm (GA) is an optimization technique simulating the process of natural evolution, and it has been successfully applied to several optimization problems which are difficult to solve exactly by conventional methods. This paper proposes a new method for solving the traveling salesman problem (TSP) based on the GA. In applications of GA to TSP proposed so far, a coding where the chromosome represents a list of cities arrayed in the visiting order has been mainly used. The present paper proposes a new method in which a genetic coding represents edges of the tour, and a crossover operator exchanges the edges of the parent tours. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through several computational experiments, including a comparison with another typical method. Furthermore, the paper proposes an algorithm which combines GA with the 2-opt method, a local search technique. - In this paper, a method of applying the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to multi-criteria optimization problems is proposed. First, the reproduction operator in GA is made so that the selection is performed in parallel according to each criterion and, at the same time, the Pareto-optimal solutions are always reproduced if such appear in the population. - Recently, as the diversification of demand and the progress of production technology result in a wider variety of products, the necessity of scheduling and inventory control is increasing. This paper deals with methods of solution for a job-shop scheduling problem considering the capacities of in-process buffers. To this problem, the authors have proposed three kinds of ways of modeling the problem, i. e., a disjunctive graph (DGR) model, a timed Petri net (TPN) model and a Gantt chart (GTC) model. The present paper proposes several methods of solution based on these models. First, to the DGR model, a conventional algorithm, e. g., a branch-and-bound method, for the ordinary job-shop scheduling problem is applied. Second, to the TPN model, a simulation-based algorithm on TPN, i. e., an algorithm to obtain an optimal schedule among non-delayed schedules by using the branch-and-bound method is proposed. Further, the TPN model is extended to be fit for the problem in repetitive production processes. Third, to the GTC model, both an algorithm to obtain an optimal schedule by using the branch-and-bound method and an algorithm to obtain an approximately optimal schedule by using the list-scheduling method are proposed. - In recent years, as the diversification of demand and the progress of production technology have brought about a wider variety of products, the necessity of scheduling and inventory control is increasing. This paper deals with a job-shop scheduling problem with consideration of the capacities of in-process buffers, and proposes three kinds of methods of modeling the problem. First, the problem is formulated mathematically into a mixed integer programming (MIP) problem, and referring to the MIP, a way of modeling the problem into a disjunctive graph, is presented. Once the problem with in-process buffers is represented by the disjunctive graph, it can be solved effectively by using a conventional algorithm. e. g., a branch-and-bound method, for the ordinary job-shop scheduling problem. Second, the problem is described by another type of the MIP and is modeled using an extended timed Petri net which is useful as a tool for various kinds of simulation. Third, the problem is modeled by using a Gantt chart which is often used to represent a schedule graphically. - A Study on Management of ContentID/Cache Location based on Estimation of Content Popularity for In-network GuidanceCirculation of large-size contents like high-definition video leads to increasing content server load and core network traffic. Content oriented network (CON), which is expected to realize efficient content distribution, is vigorously studied as a future Internet. A Mapping Server with Cache-location Resolution (MSCR) has been proposed, which provides functions to resolve content ID and not only content sever location but also prospective cache locations in order to effectively utilize in-network caches by guiding content requests to content cache locations. Its performance is, however, evaluated only under assumption that content popularity is time-invariant. In this paper, we verify the effectiveness of MSCR under more realistic assumption where content popularity is time-variant. VPCL (Variable Prospective Cache Location) is also proposed, which varies the number of stored cache locations for each content according to its estimated popularity, so that ineffective query guidance is reduced. - Performance Evaluation of V2V Emergency Vehicle Warning System in Urban AreaAn emergency vehicle such as an ambulance and a police-car needs to travel to a destination as quickly as possible. As a field of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems), there is a lot of research on systems to support drive of emergency vehicles. Performance of such systems, however, has not been evaluated enough especially in urban environment. In this paper, we focus on the situation that an ambulance goes to a hospital via a traffic accident site in urban, and in this situation, we evaluate the effectiveness of emergency vehicle drive support based on vehicle-to-vehicle communications. We consider two types of schemes: in one scheme, an emergency vehicle broadcasts information on its location and velocity to prompt neighboring vehicles to avoid slowing down, changing lane, and entering intersection; in another scheme, an emergency vehicle floods information on its path to drive to prompt other vehicles to avoid using the path. To mitigate the above problem, we have already proposed, a Mapping Server with Cache-location Resolution (MSCR), which resolves prospective cache locations (PCLs) close to the requesting user, and comfirmed the efficiency by some simulations. - A Study on Transmission Power Control for Improvement of Throughput in Wireless LAN Access NetworksInternet is being transformed to "Internet of Things" to accommodate many things. In this study, we focus on IEEE802.11 as wireless access networks for IoT. In recent years, IEEE802.11APs (Access Points) using a same channel are often deployed near to each other. Such situation leads to "exposed terminal problem," where a terminal misses an opportunity of successful transmission due to unnecessary carrier sense to transmission by another terminal which belongs to a different AP. In this paper, we verify the effectiveness of transmission power control for uplink in order to mitigate exposed terminal problem. We analyze a simple model, and further perform packet-level simulations in more practical scenarios. - An Efficient Flooding Scheme for V2V Communications Considering Intersections of Urban AreaIn Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications, broadcast is expected to disseminate information t0 locations beyond the transmission range of individual nodes. However, due to shadowing of buildings in urban area, the V2V communications at an intersection is unreliable. Thus it is difficult to disseminate information to all directions at an intersection. In addition, most of existing protocols need to use digital map which is costly and hard to update frequently. In this paper, we proposed an efficient flooding scheme for V2V communications in urban environment without digital map. We identify intersection by the difference of theoretical RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value and real RSSI value. The larger difference means larger shadowing of obstacles. We give the higher precedence to the vehicles in different street and the vehicles in further distance to sender. - Proposal of Detour Multipath Routing Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks for Data GatheringIn battery-powered wireless sensor networks (WSNs), system lifetime is strongly affected by drain of nodes' batteries. In severe environments such as disaster scenarios, WSNs also need to be tolerant to failure or loss of nodes due to external factors. The aim of this paper is to increase data collection ratio by enhancing tolerance to nodes' failure or loss while keeping system lifetime as long as possible in data-gathering WSNs. In this paper, we propose not only a detour multipath data gathering protocol called "Side Trip (ST)" scheme to enhance regional node-failure tolerance but also an improved version of ST called "Side Trip Network Coding (STNC)" scheme which utilizes network coding to reduce redundant packets without affecting the system lifetime significantly. In datagathering WSNs, nodes further away from sink node tend to have less relayed packets. In ST scheme, then, a node establishes another detour path which partially traces on nodes same hop away from the sink in order to increase the tolerance to geographically-correlated node-failure. In STNC, redundant packets from different source nodes are network-coded into an encoded packet in order to reduce redundant packets. - Performance Evaluation of V2V Information Dissemination Schemes by Network Simulations Considering Urban AreaRecently, there have been an increase in research into VANETs (Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks)communications, and various flooding schemes have been proposed for information dissemination in VANETs. These flooding protocols, however, were often evaluated under unrealistic conditions such as small-scale, line-of-sight, and static mobility environment. In this study, we evaluate how the performance of some well-known flooding schemes are affected according to whether vehicles are mobile or static and whether buildings exist or not. - Performance Evaluation of Distributed User Association based on User Utility in Wireless NetworksIn recent, public WLANs based on IEEE802.11 standard are widely deployed. In such a case, the UTE associates with the AP with the strongest RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). This simple and conventional scheme, however, may make the UTE choose a heavily loaded AP even though there is any unloaded AP. Thus, it possibly leads to inefficient network utilization. Then, so far, more sophisticate schemes for AP association and/or user guidance have been proposed. To the best of our knowledge, however, these existing schemes do not take into account of individual difference among UTEs with respect to user utility, physical data rate, traffic characteristics such as traffic demand and packet length. In this paper, we propose a distributed user association control considering such diversity of UTEs. - A Study in Input-selection-based Power Supply Method Considering Standing Wave for Two-Dimentional Communication SystemTwo-dimensional (2D) communication system is a novel communication system which utilizes surface of a sheet as a communication medium. 2D communication systems provides wireless power supply as well as high-speed data transmission to sensor devices. Standing wave, however, appears in a 2D communication sheets due to reflection of the microwave at the edges. As a result, over the sheet, there are some null points where a sensor node can receive little power. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a power supply scheme, called "multi-input scheme," which switches multiple power input points adequately in order to reduce total power supply. This scheme leverages the fact that different power input points forms different standing wave. In case of multiple input points, an important issue is which input point is selected and how long it is powered since to shorten power supply period leads to save power consumption. To do so, we formulate this as a minimization problem. - A Study on Content/Location Mapping for In-network GuidanceBreadcrumbs (BC) scheme has been proposed for content distribution in next-generation networks. In BC scheme, when a user obtains a content via networks, first, by using Mapping Server (MS), he/she needs to resolve a location of a server which stores the content and then issues a query toward the server. If the query encounters a corresponding BC on the way to the server, it is guided along the BC trail toward a cache which may store the content. If the query heads toward a prospective cache initially instead of the server, it is expected that the server load and traffic of core-networks can be reduced. In this paper, we study a MS to resolve cache-locations in addition to server-locations, which we call "MSCR: Mapping Server with Cache-location Resolution." - Performance Evaluation of Flooding Protocols in VANETs Considering ShadowingIn recent years, with the fast development in ad-hoc wireless communications and vehicular technology, it is expected that VANETs (Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks) will be realized. VANETs enable vehicles to easily collect and disseminate emergency information in short time. In urban areas, corner-lots at intersections are often occupied by buildings. In general, radio signal remarkably decreases when turning a corner from a LoS (line-of-sight) onto a NLoS (non-line-of-sight) street at an intersection. Therefore, emergency information is not disseminated efficiently into NLoS streets. In past studies on ITS, only small-scale simulations were executed and shadowing due to buildings were not taken into account. - A Study on Estimation of Session-based Throughput in IEEE802.11 Wireless Access NetworkIn recent years, public wireless local area networks (WLANs) access points (APs) using IEEE802.11 have been widely deployed. A wireless terminal may associate with an appropriate IEEE802.11 AP if it can predict throughput of up-link and down-link. In this study, we propose a simple method to estimate up-link and down-link throughput of IEEE802.11 AP service. - Proposal of Rate Adaptation Scheme based on Average Fade Region Duration for IEEE 802.11In IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, which are widely used as wireless LAN standards, multiple modulation rates are available. Then adaptive modulation schemes for IEEE802.11 wireless LAN has been studied in order to select an adequate modulation rate according to channel condition. ARF, which is known as a practical adaptive modulation scheme, has two drawbacks: 1) unnecessary and undesirable rate decrease due to frame collisions, and 2) low following capability to fluctuation of channel condition. In this paper, we propose a novel adaptive modulation scheme based on CARA, named CARA-FE, which estimates adequate timing for rate increase by learning average rate region duration. - Proposal of Hop-aware In-network Query Induction Scheme for Contents CacheAs a scheme for content distribution in next-generation networks, Breadcrumbs (BC) scheme, in which query induction information is stored in routers on the path which the corresponding content is delivered, has been proposed. In BC scheme, a query is diverted once toward the node which recently retrieves the content. As a result, the query possibly pass the near source, which causes a loss of opportunity to shorten content acquisition time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose Hop-aware Breadcrumbs (HA-BC) scheme, in which a query induction information includes latest content acquisition node, which enables a query to be diverted toward closer node, the latest content acquisition node or the server node. We also show some simulation results to compare HA-BC and BC scheme. - Macrocell batch resource allocation for a co-channel macrocell/femtocell networkThis research work proposes an interference mitigation strategy that adjusts the maximum transmit power of femtocell base stations so as to reduce the aggregate cross-tier interference received by nearby macrocell users. Most of the existing research works considered resource allocation and interference avoidance separately but in this work, both are investigated together. A resource block allocation strategy which ensures that each user served by the macrocell or femtocell base station receives a fair share of the resource blocks available in the serving cell is discussed in this work. In the case of femtocell, a non-linear optimization model is developed to maximize the total cell throughput. The optimisation process comprises of two parts, channel allocation and power allocation, which are treated separately. - A Total Dominant Pruning-based Scheme with Passive ACK and Active NACK for Reliable Broadcasting in MANETsFlooding is one of the most fundamental operations in mobile ad-hoc networks; however, pure flooding suffers from the problems of excessive redundancy, contention and collisions, which are referred to as "Broadcast Strom Problem." The objective, to reduce broadcast redundancy while still providing high delivery ratio, is a major challenge in MANETs. In this paper, we propose two schemes based-on Total Dominant Pruning with application of Passive ACK and Active NACK to provide reliable broadcast in MANETs. - Comparison of Interference Reduction Schemes by Femto Base Stations to Macro Cell UsersIn 3GPP TR25.820, three kinds of approaches, access control, bandwidth control, and power control, to reduce interference from femtocell to macrocell are examined. Further, five types of configurations as combinations of these approaches are also discussed. - User Selection Algorithm Considering Reliability of CSIT for MU-MIMO Systems Using Zero-Forcing BeamformingThis paper proposes a user selection algorithm for multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) system using Zero-Forcing Beamforming (ZFBF). A base station (BS) employs the channel response between antennas of the BS and those of mobile stations (MS) for adjusting transmission weights. The BS gets the channel response by, for example, receiving feedbacks from MSs. Because the channel response varies over time, it involves the error margin and cannot be reliable as time passes by. When responses of channels with the error margin are used for selecting users and adjusting transmission weights by the BS, qualities of channels reduce as orthogonality of channels is lost and the interference between users increases. When MSs frequently give feedbacks of the channel response to the BS, the overhead in the uplink control increases. In this paper we proposed a user selection algorithm which employs a metric representing reliability of the channel response for balancing the sum rate capacity with the feedback frequency. - 2302 The Straight-Ahead System for Electric Wheelchairs on Slopes IICrossing slopes, electric wheelchairs deviate from their straight course under the influence of gravity. In order to keep traveling directions of the electric wheelchairs on slopes, the users must frequently operate input devices. This is a severe problem for the users who operate electric wheelchairs by switches. The switching devices are less smooth than the joysticks on veering. This research aims at reducing the operation strain on the slopes, and presents a system that guides the electric wheelchairs to run straight-ahead by only one operation. The proposed system has a feedforward controller and a feedback controller on the basis of posture angles of the electric wheelchairs. - 3A2 AN APPROACH USING GENETICS-BASED MACHINE LEARNING TO COMPLEMENTING LEGACY RULES FOR THE ELEVATOR OPERATION :In this paper, an approach using a Genetic-Based Machine Learning (GBML) method to acquire rule sets which complement legacy rules for the elevator operation is shown. A rule set is designed to be comprised of unit-rules, each of which encodes an elevator's augmented attribute vector and matches an arbitrary elevator which has such attributes. The GBML method is built in the Pittsburgh-style and tailored for acquiring such rules sets. - 1209 The Straight-Ahead System for Electric Wheelchair on a SlopeThis paper presents an approach which assist users for driving electric wheelchairs to go straight ahead on slopes, in order to reduce their strains of operations by switches while crossing on a slope. The users who cannot control joysticks due to some kind of physical disabilities, have to use input devices of the simple switch type. It causes one of the crucial problems on crossing slope, where the users have to operate switches more frequently than joysticks so that the wheelchair should go straight. On this approach, the straight-ahead system controls input voltages of left and right motors by reading the yaw angle of the wheelchair. We make a prototype system with simple feedback control. Most of these problems include assignment of each customer to a certain vehicle and routing of each vehicle, and a hierarchical approach is widely applied, in which the assignment and the routing are searched alternatively. In this paper, we form the hierarchical solution for the pickup and delivery problem as a general model of practical transportation problems. Here, in implementing the hierarchical approach, an informational feedback is newly introduced, so that not only objective values but also a part of decisions themselves should be utilized for making a neighborhood search more efficient. Dynamic Understanding of Human Intelligence) - 3-A-2 MATHEMATICAL MODELING AND HYBRID SOLUTION FOR A CLASS OF FLEXIBLE SHOP SCHEDULING PROBLEMS :In this paper, we consider an extended class of flexible shop scheduling problems. First, we translate the problem into a mathematical programming formula, i.e., a mixed-integer programming problem. This makes it possible to apply standard packages of mixed integer programming solvers, and while lots of computational time is required in general, to obtain the optimal schedule. Then, in order to seek such schedules as close to the optimal, we compose a hybrid approach in which an integer programming method and a genetic algorithm are combined. This project consisted of two research sections : design and modeling using the concept of dynamical network, and analysis for dynamical network in individual processes. This research project revealed that performance of processes could improve tremendously by expressing function network models and intensifying hub elements in the network.

However, it is not easy to predict the customer's and competitors' behavior, both of which are most important to determine the effective strategies. In the presence, many enterprises analyze the behavior of the customers by the conventional statistical methods and reflects the results to own strategies. In this research, we try to realize a demand chain simulation system that can analyze and support to plan the business strategies based on the research on the biological manufacturing systems. As the first step of the research, we develop a prototype system of demand chain simulator for soft drink business through vending machines. The simulation results suggest that the simulation system can be applicable to the real market.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), Kobe University, 2002 - 2003A Study on Systematic Analysis on Sustainable Cycle-Oriented Social SystemMany studies have been conducted in order to develop a sustainable cycle-oriented social system. Those studies focused on top-down processes, based on the belief that strong restrictions such as laws are effective. We consider this belief to be suspect and that it is desirable to form a social system from the bottom up while retaining creativity and diversity in the decision making process of not only manufactures but also consumers. In order to analyze and attain a sustainable society by focusing on the above viewpoints, four new approaches are proposed : complexity, value creation, indirect control method and latent function. At first, we discuss the nature of a cycle-oriented social system by using the abstract rewriting system on multisets (ARMS) and we found that a system which has a high level of giving great complexity dose not last for very long and there is an appropriate complexity level for sustainable society. Second, we focus on the consumer's value creation to form the sustainable society and showed a method to help the consumers to do the value creation. Third, we established an Indirect Control Method for control the behavior of the sustainable social system using the agent-based simulation. In this study, we shows some examples of Indirect Control Method and verify the validity of Indirect Control Method. Forth, we formulate the degree of Latent Function, so as to evaluate artifact' future comprehensively and concretely. We perform questionnaire surveys about drink containers, in order to determine the weights of the coefficients of the formula.

- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 重点領域研究, 東京工業大学, 1995 - 1997進化的探索の理論進化的計算では,コード化/交叉の設計および世代交代モデルの設計が基本となり,前者は形質遺伝という視点,後者は多様性維持という視点が重要である.本年度は,過去2年間の実績を踏まえて,工学的応用可能性を意識しつつ研究を進め,下記の点において大きな研究成果を得た. (1)コード化/交叉の設計: 巡回セールスマン問題(Traveling Salesman Problem:TSP)を対象に枝交換交叉(Edge Assembly Crossover)を考案し,1万都市規模の問題Pの最適解を効率よく見いだすことに成功した.また,ジョブショップスケジューリング問題(Job Shop Scheduling Problem)を対象にIntermachine Job-based Order Crossoverを考案し,ベンチマークFT10×10,FT20×5に適用して,最適解を非常に高い確率で見いだすことに成功した.さらに,関数最適化を対象に正規分布交叉(Normal Distribution Crossover)を考案し,従来法と比べて,多峰性関数に対して頑健な性能を示すことを確認した. (2)多様性維持に優れた世代交代モデルについて: 多様性維持に優れた世代交代モデルとして提案したMGG(Minimal Generation Gap)について,最小騙し問題を用いてその有用性を解析した. (3)工学的設計問題への応用: 進化的計算の工学的設計問題への応用として,レンズ設計,並列機械スケジューリング,VLSIフロアプラン設計,プリント基板設計への適用を試み,有用性を確認した.特に,レンズ設計においては,従来の最適化手法では設計が不可能とされていた3枚以上のレンズ系の設計自動化に成功した.本研究の成果は100年以上の歴史のある光学設計の分野にブレークスルーをもたらすものと産業界からも高く評価されている.
