    We discuss the process of reconstruction in comparison with the attributes of housing blocks before the seismic disaster. We choose Sumiyoshi Area damaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake,1995. 1.17. We classify the 215 housing blocks to 6 groups, defined by the dimensions of the area ,the density and the ratio of the mixture of three types of housings ; detached.timber apartment / row house, and collective house by non-timber structure. We made it clear that the development of housing replacement can be explained by the previous state of the housing blocks. This suggest the hints for how we should make the system, for the promotion of the reconstruction.

    We discuss the problems in the reconstruction process of housing area, heavily damaged by the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake. We choose Sumiyoshi-area and analyze the transfigurations of this area before and after the earthquake through periodical field work survey and existing sources. Before the quake there exist problems as follows ; the mixture of detached houses and large RC condominiums and small timber apartment houses, the existence of some highly dense blocks with very narrow paths inside, many small lots and lots without appropriate accesses. Two years after the earthquake, October 1996, the reconstruction process of this area is revealing the hidden problems before the earthquake.

    本研究は、限定した調査対象地区における震災後の新築・再建住宅事例の立地条件、平面、断面、計画的特徴、居住者像、生活像、新築・再建までの経緯、及び居住者の従前の諸条件による類型的整理分類に基づく、新しい「家族形態」と居住形態の類型の発見と検証および住宅供給計画への示唆の獲得を目的としている。 本年度は、神戸市東灘区住吉地区及び隣接する被災地区である御影地区において、必ずしも同居の形態をとらないが、親子親族友人の住居間で様々な距離や依存度の段階性を持つ居住ネットワークを形成して、地区内に定住する事例について明らかにした。 これらの新しい居住形態は、再建・新築が個別的かつ自主自助的にのみ行われてきた対象地域で選択されたものであり、一般的な住宅地更新に対するモデルとしての意味を持つ。これは現代社会の「家族形態」の変容や居住形態の多様化と、それに伴う地域空間の変容の一側面を凝縮した形で示している。 また、これまでの調査結果を検証・補完するために空中写真・国土基本図(1/2500)による地域分析、現地建物現況調査を実施した。そして、復興過程における地区の特性と住宅ストック構成の変容を分析し、多世代多世帯同居の「家族形態」をとる住居の地域の復興過程との関連を検討した。 災害被災地である北海道奥尻地区・長崎県雲仙地区については,調査資料・データの入手困難,都市と農村の違いから比較は難しいため,調査対象としなかった.
