- Appropriate symmetry breaking generates an anomalous Hall (AH) effect, even in antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials. Itinerant magnets with d electrons are typical examples that show a significant response. By contrast, the process by which a response emerges from f-electron AFM structures remains unclear. In this Letter, we show that an AFM material, Ce_{2}CuGe_{6}, yields a large AH conductivity (AHC) of 550 Ω^{-1} cm^{-1}, which exceeds the values previously reported in d-electron AFM materials. Observed features, including the scaling relation against electrical conductivity, suggest that this AH transport is induced cooperatively by both intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms derived from the AFM structure.Sep. 2024, Physical review letters, 133(10) (10), 106301 - 106301, English, International magazineScientific journal

- Abstract Specific antiferromagnetic (AF) spin configurations generate large anomalous Hall effects (AHEs) even at zero magnetic field through nonvanishing Berry curvature in momentum space. In addition to restrictions on AF structures, suitable control of AF domains is essential to observe this effect without cancellations among its domains; therefore, compatible materials remain limited. Here we show that an orthorhombic noncollinear AF material, NbMnP, acquired AF structure-based AHE and controllability of the AF domains. Theoretical calculations indicated that a large Hall conductivity of ~230 Ω−1cm−1 originated from the AF structure of NbMnP. Symmetry considerations explained the production of a small net magnetization, whose anisotropy enabled the generation and cancellation of the Hall responses using magnetic fields in different directions. transition (MIT) material, RuAs, with two-step phase transition are reported by
using polarized optical conductivity [$\sigma(\omega)$] spectra,
angle-integrated photoelectron (PE) spectra, and band calculations based on
local density approximation (LDA). Both the PE and $\sigma(\omega)$ spectra not
only in the high-temperature (HT) phase but also in the low-temperature (LT)
phase as well as the energy gap formation owing to the MIT were almost
consistent with those derived from the LDA band calculations, so the
fundamental electronic structure in the HT and LT phases can be explained
without electron correlations. However, the electronic structure in the middle
phase between the HT and LT phases has not been clarified. The polarized
$\sigma(\omega)$ spectra revealed not only the anisotropic energy gap formation
but also the anisotropic gap-opening temperature, i.e., the energy gap along
the $c$ axis in the HT phase starts to open near the higher transition
temperature, but that along the $b$ axis opens below the lower transition
temperature. The finding suggests that the two-step MIT originates from the

- Tetrahedrite Cu12Sb4S13 shows a metal-semiconductor transition (MST) at T-MST = 85K. We have studied the mechanism of the MST by measurements of Cu-NMR. Above T-MST, the Cu-NMR spectrum consists of signals from a tetrahedral Cu(1) 12d site and a trigonally coordinated Cu(2) 12e site. Analyses of the spectra at 95 and 20K yield NMR and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) parameters above and below T-MST]. The Cu(1) signal does not show clear quadrupole splitting, which remains unchanged on cooling across T-MST. On the other hand, the Cu(2) signal at T > T-MST clearly shows the quadrupole splitting characterized by a quadrupole frequency nu(Q)(2) approximate to 18.6MHz and an asymmetry parameter eta(2) approximate to 0.03. Below T-MST, the values of nu(Q)(2) and eta(2) change markedly. Such marked changes in NQR parameters provide evidence of a remarkable change in the local electronic structure around the Cu(2) site. Together with nu(Q) from NMR spectra and that from first-principles calculation, we conclude that the Cu(2) atoms are displaced from the sulfur triangles below TMST. - A single crystal of RuAs obtained with the Bi-flux method shows obvious successive metal-insulator transitions at T(MI1)∼255 K and T(MI2)∼195 K. The x-ray diffraction measurement reveals the formation of a superlattice of 3 x 3 x 3 of the original unit cell below T(MI2), accompanied by a change of the crystal system from the orthorhombic structure to the monoclinic one. Simple dimerization of the Ru ions is not seen in the ground state. The multiple As sites observed in the nuclear quadrupole resonance spectrum also demonstrate the formation of the superlattice in the ground state, which is clarified to be nonmagnetic. The divergence in 1/T1 at T(MI1) shows that a symmetry lowering by the metal-insulator transition is accompanied by strong critical fluctuations of some degrees of freedom. Using the structural parameters in the insulating state, the first-principles calculation reproduces successfully the reasonable size of nuclear quadrupole frequencies ν(Q) for the multiple As sites, ensuring the high validity of the structural parameters. The calculation also gives a remarkable suppression in the density of states near the Fermi level, although the gap opening is insufficient. A coupled modulation of the calculated Ru d-electron numbers and the crystal structure proposes the formation of a charge density wave in RuAs. Some lacking factors remain, but it is shown that a lifting of degeneracy protected by the nonsymmorphic symmetry through the superlattice formation is a key ingredient for the metal-insulator transition in RuAs.American Physical Society, May 2018, Phys. CrAsは直方晶Pnmaの対称性を持ち、T_N_~265[K]に磁気転移点を持つヘリカル磁性体である。加圧により磁気転移が抑制されることで超伝導相が現れることが知られており、Cr系物質としては初となる非従来型超伝導体であることが示唆されている。本研究では、CrAsの単結晶を用いて圧力下常磁性相での^75^As-NMR測定を行い、Knight Shiftや核スピン-格子緩和率を異なる磁場中で測定した。講演では主にCrAsの磁気揺らぎの異方性について議論する。

CrAsはT_N_〜265[K]に磁気転移点を持つヘリカル磁性体で、2014年に圧力下での超伝導転移が観測された。Cr系物質としては初となる非従来型の超伝導であることが示唆されており、CrAsの物性を調べることは、非従来型超伝導の発生機構の解明に繋がる。本研究ではCrAsの単結晶を用いて、圧力下常磁性相での^75^As-NMR測定を行い、Knight Shiftや磁場中の核スピン-格子緩和率を測定した。講演ではCrAsの磁気相関について議論する。

近年Cr系化合物においてCrAsが圧力印加により磁気秩序を抑制し、超伝導が発現することが確認された。本研究では、Cr系化合物である反強磁性体Cr2GaNにおいて、Cを置換することにより、磁性を消失させることを試みた。具体的には、電気抵抗測定およびNMR測定を用いて磁気転移温度の置換効果を測定し、報告する予定である。

UBe13は重い電子系超伝導体である。この系は超伝導転移後も比熱測定などで異常が報告されており、その起源について様々な議論がなされてきた。前回の発表では表面インピーダンス及びNMRの結果から低温で秩序状態を形成している可能性を指摘した。今回はKnight shiftと合わせT1の測定を行いこの結果を報告する。

スピン三重項多重超伝導体で知られているUPt_3_においてその超伝導起源であると目されている反強磁性秩序(ゆらぎ)に対して高磁場NMRによる^195^Pt核のKnight shiftおよびスピン-格子緩和時間の測定を通じてその観測を試みた。

希土類金属では、近藤効果とRKKY相互作用がはたらく。両者の拮抗により、量子臨界点が出現し、その近傍では、非従来型の超伝導や重い電子状態などの物性が観測される。そのような物性を示す代表例として、多くの反強磁性を示すCe系化合物が知られているが、Ce系の強磁性体においては報告例が少ない。そこで、加圧下で強磁性秩序と近藤効果を示すCeZnに注目し、今回、新たにCeZnの高圧下電気抵抗測定を行ったので、その結果を報告する。

LaV_2_Al_20_は四極子秩序と超伝導が共存するPrV_2_Al_20_の比較物質として興味深い。これまでに1.8 K以上でのdHvA効果測定から一部のフェルミ面が観測されているが、バンド計算から予測されるフェルミ面の全容観測には至っていない。本研究ではより低温でのdHvA効果測定を行うことで、新たなフェルミ面を観測したので報告する。

今回,我々は単結晶PrT_2_Al_20_のNMR測定を行った.得られたNMRスペクトルを解析し,NQRで得られたパラメータとバンド計算の結果を用いてスペクトルを再現することに成功した.この系のナイトシフトは,Tサイトの違いによらず非磁性基底状態を持つ局在4f電子系に期待される振る舞いを示す.T = Nbの試料は低温まで相転移を示唆する振る舞いが見られない一方,T = Taの試料ではナイトシフト,核磁気緩和率に低温で相転移に伴うと考えられる異常が見られた.講演ではスペクトルの解析の詳細とPrT_2_Al_20_の磁気励起について議論したい.

RuAsは約250Kで金属絶縁体転移を示す物質であり、Rhドープにより超伝導を示す事でも興味が持たれている。今回、我々は単結晶試料の作成に成功し、圧力下電気抵抗測定、As-NQR測定を行ったので報告する。As-NQR測定に関しては通常金属相ではAsサイトが単一であったのに対して絶縁体相では複数サイトへの分裂が生じており、超格子の形成を示唆する結果を得た。また、核スピン-格子緩和率は転移点で発散しており、何らかの自由度の揺らぎの発達も観測された。

磁場に鈍感な重い電子系であるSmTa_2_Al_20_のAl-NQRによる低温での研究を行った。約3K以下でAl-NQR線幅の増大が観測され、Smイオンが磁気的に秩序していることが明らかになった。当日は緩和率もあわせて報告予定である。

CePd2Gaは3Kで反強磁性転移を示すことが知られており、比熱から推測された近藤温度は2-4Kで、反強磁性転移温度と近いことからRKKY相互作用と近藤効果が競合していることを示唆している。また、磁性イオンのCeは局所的に空間反転対称性が破れていることもあり興味がもたれている物質である。今回、我々は微視的な立場から物性を明らかにすることを目的としてNMR、NQR実験を行った。当日はそれらの結果を発表する。

- We report the results of 77Se-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in α-FeSe, which exhibits a similar crystal structure to the LaFeAsO1−xFx superconductor and shows superconductivity at 8 K. The nuclear-spin lattice relaxation rate 1⁄T1 shows T3 behavior below the superconducting transition temperature Tc without a coherence peak. The T1T=const. behavior, indicative of the Fermi liquid state, can be seen in a wide temperature range above Tc. The superconductivity in α-FeSe is also an unconventional one as well as LaFeAsO1−xFx and related materials. - We report resistivity measurement under pressure in single crystals of SrFe2As2, which is one of the parent materials of Fe-based superconductors. The structural and antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition of T0=198 K at ambient pressure is suppressed under pressure, and the ordered phase disappears above Pc∼3.6–3.7 GPa. Superconductivity with a sharp transition appears accompanied by the suppression of the AFM state. Tc exhibits a maximum of 34.1 K, which is realized close to the phase boundary at Pc. - We have studied the electrical resistivity of Ce0.8Pr0.2B6 for H //<110> both at the ambient pressure and under pressure of P=1.36GPa. At the ambient pressure, Pr-doping acts to enhance TQ different from the large suppression of TQ in Ce0.7Pr0.3B6. This difference is ascribed to the different magnitude of the magnetic interaction between these two compounds. TN shows the unusual increase with increasing magnetic field, which is explained by considering the effect of the magnetic field induced Txy z-AFO order. By applying the pressure, the low temperature region of the magnetic phase diagram is largely modified. - We have studied the effect of Nd doping on phase IV of Ce0.7NdyLa0.3-yB6 (y = 0.005, 0.01, 0.03, and 0.05) to obtain information on the order parameter in phase IV. Phase IV is rapidly suppressed and phase III is stabilized by the Nd doping. Phase IV disappears at the critical concentration y(c) similar to 0.015 above which only phase III exists below 1.4 K. The macroscopic properties in phase IV are not affected by the Nd doping. For y = 0.01, there exists a region where phases III and IV coexist at a low magnetic field. This mixed state is unstable and is easily changed to phase III by applying the magnetic field. This indicates that phases III and IV are competitive and phase IV is not the magnetic dipole ordered phase. The long-range ordering temperatures from phase IV or III to the paramagnetic region are constant at least up to y = 0.05. - Sb nuclear quadrupole resonances (NQR) have been performed on the alkaline-earth filled skutterudite AFe(4)Sb(12) (A = Ca, Sr, and Ba) being close to ferromagnetic instabiity. No hyperfine splitting in NQR spectrum even at the lowest temperature (1.5 K) confirms an absence of uniform ferromagnetic order in these compounds. Above about T* similar to 70K, the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, I IT, T, follows an empirical relationship I IT, T = a + b chi(spin) with respect to the Curie Weiss (CW) like T-dependence of the static spin susceptibility chi(spin). The correlation between I IT, T and chi(spin) is consistent with the self-consistent renormalization (SCR) theory for the three-dimensional (3D) nearly ferromagnet despite the relatively large contribution of the first term not correlating to chi(spin). However, below about T*, I IT, T exhibits a gap-like suppression with a gap magnitude of about 65 K. This unusual suppression of the low energy spin excitations is contrasting to the case in LaFe4Sb12, and a characteristic feature in the filled skutterudites with divalent filler ion. - Sb NMR and NQR studies have revealed the formation of a pseudogap at the Fermi level in the density of states in a valence fluctuating compound CeIrSb. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, 1/ T1 T, has a maximum around 300 K and decreases significantly as 1/ T1 T∼ T2, followed by a 1/ T1 T=const relation at low temperature. This temperature dependence of 1/ T1 T is well reproduced by assuming a V-shaped energy gap with a residual density of states at the Fermi level. The size of energy gap for CeIrSb is estimated to be about 350 K, which is by 1 order of magnitude larger than those for the isostructural Kondo semiconductors CeRhSb and CeNiSn. Despite the large difference in the size of energy gap, CeIrSb, CeRhSb, and CeNiSn are indicated to be classified into the same group revealing a V-shaped gap due to c-f hybridization. - We have studied the Ce-cite substitution effect by R(= Pr, Nd) ion on the multipole interactions in CeB6. We found that T-Q of Ce0.9Nd0.1B6 in magnetic fields is higher than that of Ce0.9Pr0.1B6 and the magnetization is larger in the former than in the latter. The larger suppression of T-Q in CexPr(1-x)B(6) suggests the larger reduction of the T-xyz antiferro-octupolar (AFO) interaction in this system considering that T-Q at H = 0 is nearly the same in both systems. - We have investigated the Pr-doping effect on phase IV of CexLa1-xB6. For Ce0.7Pr0.03La0.27B6, the region of phase III is expanded and the phase IV disappears regardless of only 3% Pr doping. By Pr 8% doping, the phase II which exists above H similar to 0.8 T in Ce0.7Pr0.03La0.27B6 seems to separate the phase III and I at low fields. In Ce0.7Pr0.1La0.2B6, we observed the new phase defined as phase IV ' whose characteristics are very similar to that of phase IV. This phase IV ' exists inside phase II. - We performed the mean field calculation of the magnetization under pressure for the four sublattice model to understand the unusual pressure effect of CeB6. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results and the canted ferromagnetic ground state is predicted to appear at higher pressure. We studied the electrical resistivity of Ce0.75La0.25B6 under pressure. We found that the phase III is rapidly suppressed by pressure and TIV-I increases with pressure. - We have studied the effect of the Q(xy)-antiferro-quadrupole (AFQ), T-xyz-antiferro-octupole (AFO), and AF exchange interactions on the Gamma(5u)-AFO order, which is a strong candidate of the order in phase IV of CexLa1-xB6, by mean field calculation for the two-sublattice model. The magnetic phase diagram obtained by the calculation seems to reproduce those of CexLa1-xB6, which seems to provide some clues to understanding phase IV. However, a peak of the magnetic susceptibility disappears easily after introducing the Q(xy)-AFQ interaction, which is because the Q(xy)-FQ order that accompanies the Gamma(5u)-AFO order is easily suppressed by the O-xy-AFQ interaction. - We measured the thermal expansion and magnetostriction of PrB6 under the longitudinal magnetic fields up to 15 T for three magnetic field directions. We found the following results in the IC1 and IC2 phases for H parallel to (111). The magnetostriction shows only a small magnetic field dependence in the IC1 phase but exhibits a large shrinkage with increasing magnetic field roughly proportional to -H-2 in the IC2 phase. The thermal expansion exhibits a small change in the IC1 phase but a large increase in the IC2 phase with decreasing temperature. These different behaviors between the IC1 and IC2 phases originate from the existence of both chi(parallel to) and chi perpendicular to components exist in the IC1 phase and only the chi perpendicular to component in the IC2 phase. The characteristic magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of the experimental results are reproduced by the simple calculation for the two sublattice model, although this model does not represent the incommensurate magnetic strucutres of PrB6. - We have investigated the Nd-doping effect on phase IV of CexLa1-xB6. The shape of the specific heat of Ce0.7Nd0.03La0.27B6 is changed drastically from that of Ce0.7La0.3B6. The magnetic phase diagram is changed largely only by a small amount of Nd ion doping except the phase boundaries II-I and III-II. Phase IV disappears only by Nd doping of 0.03 and the ground state is changed to the antiferromagnetic one. - The thermopower, S, of CexR1- xB6 (R = La, Pr, Nd) was investigated. S with a positive sign shows a typical behavior observed in the Ce Kondo system, an increase with decreasing temperature at high temperatures and a maximum at low temperatures. The S values of all the systems at high temperatures are roughly linearly dependent on the Ce concentration, indicating the conservation of the single-impurity character of the Kondo effect in a wide x range. However, the maximum value of S, Smax, and the temperature, Tmax, at which Smax is observed exhibit different x dependences between CexLa1 -xB6 and CexR1- xB6 (R = Pr, Nd). In CexLa1- xB6, Tmax, which is 8K in CeB6, decreases with decreasing x and converges to ~ 1K in a very dilute alloy and Smax shows an increase below x ~ 0.1 after decreasing with decreasing x. In CexR1 -xB6 (R = Pr, Nd), Tmax shows a weak x dependence but Smax shows a roughly linear decrease in x. These results are discussed from the standpoint of the chemical pressure effect and the Ce–Ce interaction. - We have studied the magnetization, electrical resistivity and magnetic phase diagram of PrxLa1- xB6. The x dependence of the incommensurate (IC) magnetic ordering temperature, T_IC1, is similar to that of NdxLa1- xB6. The noncollinear commensurate magnetic ordering is rapidly suppressed by La doping. These suggest that the IC magnetic ordering originates from the long-range RKKY-type exchange interaction and that the short-range Oxy-type AFQ interaction, which is easily affected by the local disturbance, is associated with the formation of the commensurate magnetic ordering in the C phase. The magnetic phase diagram of Pr0.8La0.2B6 is very different from those of PrB6 and Pr0.9La0.1B6. Although there exists the C and IC1 phases at H = 0 in the latter two compounds, there exists only the IC1 phase at H = 0 in Pr0.8La0.2B6. However, the C phase appears above 6 T only for H // <111>. quadrupolar and Zeeman interactions by taking into account the domain distribution, that depends on the applied magnetic field direction.[Refereed]Scientific journal - We have investigated the physical properties of Ce0.7Pr0.3B6 in order to clarify the doping effect on the multipolar interactions in CeB6 and PrB6. As a result of the suppression of the antiferro-quadrupolar ordering temperature T-Q and the enhancement of T-N by Pr doping, six long-range ordered (LRO) phases appear. T-Q exhibits a smooth increase with increasing magnetic field as in CeB6. At a high magnetic field, above similar to 10 T, only phase II exists. As for the three LRO phases below similar to 10 T and below T-Q, there exists a possibility of incommensurate quadrupolar and magnetic ordering. A new question of how the quadrupolar ordering is compatible with the magnetic ordering appears in the present study. - We report a Sb-121.123 nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) Study of SrFe4Sb12 and BaFe4Sb12. The absence of hyperfine splitting or marked broadening in NQR spectra even at the lowest temperature (1.5 K) suggests the absence of uniform ferromagnetic ordering in both compounds. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, 1/T1T, does not follow the Korringa law, but shows a broad maximum at around 60 K. At temperatures higher than 80 K, 1/T1T can be decomposed into two terms, (1/T1T)(o) = const. and T-dependent (1/T1T)(spin). - We report magnetoresistance measurements of layered superconductor ZrNCl0.7 at high magnetic fields (H) as high as 27 T and temperatures (T) as low as 0.5 K. The T dependence of the upper critical field Hc2(T) for Hc and Hc was obtained. Hc2(T) starts to increase with a gentle slope near Tc(0) followed by a steep slope with decreasing T, implying the dimensional crossover of the interplane coherence length from three dimensional to two dimensional (2D). The Hc2(T) is found to be anisotropic for the field direction, where the slope of H=(dHc2/dT) near H1 T can be estimated as H–22.1 kOe/K and H–4.9 kOe/K for Hc and Hc, respectively. - Quasiparticle spin susceptibility (The Physical Society of Japan (JPS), Apr. 2005, J Phys Soc Jpn, 74(4) (4), 1245 - 1254, English
$\chi^{\text{qp } }$ ) for various heavy-fermion (HF) superconductors is discussed on the basis of the experimental results of NMR Knight shift ($K$ ), NMR relaxation rate ($1/T_{1}$ ), and electronic specific heat ($\gamma_{\text{el } }$ ) within the framework of the Fermi liquid model for a Kramers doublet crystal electric field (CEF) ground state.$\chi_{\gamma}$ is calculated from the enhanced Sommerfeld coefficient$\gamma_{\text{el } }$ , and$\chi_{T_1}$ from the quasiparticle Korringa relation$T_1T(K_{T_1})^2=\mathrm{const.}$ via the relation of$\chi_{T_1}=(N_{\text{A } }\mu_{\text{B } }/A_{\text{hf } })K_{T_1}$ where$A_{\text{hf } }$ is the hyperfine coupling constant,$N_{\text{A } }$ the Abogadoro's number and$\mu_{\text{B } }$ the Bohr magneton. For the even-parity (spin-singlet) superconductors CeCu2Si2, CeCoIn5 and UPd2Al3, the fractional decrease in the Knight shift,$\delta K^{\text{obs } }=K^{\text{obs } }(T_{\text{c } })-K^{\text{obs } }(T\rightarrow 0)$ , below the superconducting transition temperature ($T_{\text{c } }$ ) is due to the decrease of the spin susceptibility of heavy quasiparticle estimated consistently from$\chi_{\gamma}$ and~$\chi_{T_1}$ . This result allows us to conclude that the heavy quasiparticles form the spin-singlet Cooper pairs in CeCu2Si2, CeCoIn5 and UPd2Al3. On the other hand, no reduction in the Knight shift is observed in UPt3 and UNi2Al3, nevertheless the estimated values of$\chi_{\gamma}$ and$\chi_{T_1}$ are large enough to be probed experimentally. The odd-parity superconductivity is therefore concluded in these compounds. - The Nd ion doping effects on the multipolar interactions in CeB6 were studied. At high magnetic fields, the antiferro-quadrupolar (AFQ) phase II is not significantly affected by Nd doping. This may be because the Nd ion is in the paramagnetic state. However, with decreasing magnetic field, the Nd doping effect becomes apparent. This may be because Nd–Nd interaction dominates the long-range ordering at low magnetic fields. At low magnetic fields, just after $T_{\text{Q } }$ and $T_{\text{N } }$ coincide with each other when Nd ion is doped, new phases, namely, phases IIIA and V appear. Phase IIIA is the AF magnetic state where all types of quadrupolar interaction are small. The nature of phase V seems to change largely at $x \sim 0.5$. For $x < 0.4$, phase V may be the same as the type I AF magnetic state observed in NdB6 where the $O_2^0$-type FQ interaction is prominent. - We have studied the transport, magnetic and elastic properties of Ce0.8La0.2B6 single crystal. The phase IV which existed for $x\leq 0.75$ in CexLa1-xB6 was found to exist in this sample but its existence region is very small. The magnetic phase diagram indicates that the phase IV appears in order to avoid a direct contact between the antiferromagnetic phase III dominated by the $O_{xy}$-type antiferro-quadrupolar ordering and the paramagnetic phase I. The anisotropy of the magnetization was discovered in the phase IV above $H\sim0.3$ T. There, the magnetization is large for $H\parallel \langle 001\rangle$ but small for $H\parallel \langle 110\rangle$. From the results of the anisotropic behaviors of the magnetization in the phase IV, we proposed that there exist the three domain states, $K_{xy}$, $K_{yz}$ and $K_{zx}$ at $H=0$ and in the $K_{xy}$ domain, $M$ under $H\parallel z$ is large and that under $H\parallel x$ or $y$ is small. Based on the anisotropy of $M$ and the smooth $x$ dependence of $T_{\text{N } }$ and $T_{\text{N } }^{\text{IV--I } }$ through $x\sim0.8$, we discussed the possibility of the magnetic ordering in the phase IV. $T_{\beta}$-type antiferro-octupolar ordering whose possibility was discussed in detail by Kuramoto and Kusunose [J. - A 13C-NMR anisotropic hyperfine coupling tensor was determined as 2π(-1.68, -1.68, 3.37)×106 rad/sec for C603- in A3C60 superconductors, where A is an alkali metal, by analyzing 13C-NMR spectra below 85 K. Combined with an isotropic coupling constant of (2π×0.69)×106 rad/sec, the 2s and 2p characters of the electronic wave functions at the Fermi level were deduced. The results were compatible with local-density-approximation band calculations. From a simulation of 13C-NMR spectra at superconducting state, the traceless chemical (orbital) shift tensor and isotropic chemical shift were determined as (67, 34, -101) ppm and ∼150 ppm, respectively. An estimated magnetic penetration depth is larger than 570 nm in K3C60. Furthermore, the modified Korringa relation, T1TK2∼βS (with Knight shift K, spin-lattice relaxation time T1, and Korringa constant S), clearly showed the existence of weak but substantial antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation in A3C60; β=0.40–0.58 with an error of ±20%.0 The Stoner enhancement factor was also determined as 1–1.5 from a comparison between spin susceptibility obtained from NMR and band-calculation results.American Physical Society, Nov. 1998, Physical review. - The static spin susceptibility, χsSQ and χsNMR, in C60 superconductors K3C60 and Rb3C60 was studied using a dc superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer and 13C NMR. We found that χsSQ has a peculiar temperature (T) dependence behaving as (1-CT2) with a positive constant C∼(1×10-6) deg-2, contrary to the almost T independent χsNMR. These observations indicate a possibility that there exist Kondo-like impurities, whose Kondo temperature is ∼500 K and whose content is ∼0.001 spins per carbon. On the basis of these studies, the lattice constant dependence of the intrinsic spin susceptibility was established to be dχs/da0=(5.7±0.4)×10-4 emu/mol C60/Å in A3C60 superconductors where A is an alkali metal.American Physical Society, Nov. 1998, Physical review. - 195Pt Knight shift (KS) measurements covering the superconducting multiple phases for major field ( H) orientations have been carried out on the high-quality single crystal UPt3. For H>5 kOe, the KS does not change below the superconducting transition temperature Tc down to 28 mK, regardless of major crystal orientations, which provides evidence that the odd-parity superconductivity with the parallel spin pairing is realized. By contrast, the KS decreases below Tc for Hb∥b axis and Hb<5 kOe and for Hc∥c axis and Hc<2.3 kOe, whereas the KS for Ha∥a axis is T independent across Tc down to Ha∼1.764 kOe. - The nuclear-spin-lattice relaxation rate, 27(1/T1), of the high-quality polycrystalline UPd2Al3 with a record T c=2 K and the narrowest Al NQR linewidth to date of 12 kHz has been measured in zero magnetic field by the NQR technique. 27(1/T1) below T c has been found to obey the T3- law at least down to 0.18 K, giving strong evidence that the energy gap vanishes along lines on the Fermi surface. From the analysis of 27Al Knight shift below T c, it is shown that the anisotropic residual Knight shift originates from the f-electron susceptibility in the antiferromagnetic state, whereas the isotropic reduction of the shift below T c is due to a singlet pairing nature of the superconductivity. - Systematic measurements of the NQR spectrum and the nuclear-spin-lattice relaxation rate, 1/T1, of 27Al in the heavy-fermion antiferromagnetic (AF) compound CePd2Al3 have revealed that the magnetic nature dramatically changes from showing long-range and inhomogeneous AF ordering for annealed and as-cast polycrystals, respectively, to a disappearance of any type of magnetic ordering for single crystals. A close relationship between the magnetic ordering and the structural disorder in the Al layers isolated from the Ce–Pd layers is demonstrated. The exchange coupling via the Al layers along the c-axis, which leads to the AF ground state, critically depends on the occupation and distribution of Al atoms as proposed by Mentink et al. - The long-range planar-type antiferromagnetic ordering in the heavy-fermion compound CePd2Al3 is shown to critically depend on the exact occupation and distribution of aluminum atoms over their available lattice sites. A poly-crystalline sample (TN=2.7 K) is systematically compared with a nonordering single crystal, by means of susceptibility, specific heat, and site-specific Al-NQR/NMR experiments. - The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate $1/T_{1}$ of 63Cu was measured in the range from 1.5 to 300 K for $x{=}0.0625$ and $x{=}0.08$ in (La1-xBax)2CuO4. In the high-temperature tetragonal (HTT) and the low-temperature orthorhombic (LTO) phases in the normal state, $1/T_{1}T$ for both samples follows the Curie-Weiss law, $C/(T+\theta)$, suggesting that the two-dimensional (2D) antiferromagnetic (AF) fluctuation among Cu spins is dominant, similarly to the (La1-xSrx)2CuO4 system. In the HTT and LTO phases, no significant differences except for a slight difference in $\theta$ were observed between the two samples. In the low-temperature tetragonal (LTT) phase for $x{=}0.0625$, $1/T_{1}$ diverges at about 35 K, confirming the existence of magnetic ordering. - In (La1-xBax)2CuO4, the Cu-NQR spectra for $x{=}0.0625$ and $x{=}0.08$ were observed in each phase of the crystal structure. The temperature dependence of the spin echo decay rate, $T_{2}^{-1}$, was also measured from 1.5 K to 300 K for both samples. The two well-separated sets of NQR spectra were observed in the high-temperature tetragonal (HTT) and low-temperature orthorhombic (LTO) phases in both samples. The spectrum at 1.5 K in the low-temperature tetragonal (LTT) phase for $x{=}0.0625$ is abnormally broadened compared to the spectra in the HTT and LTO phases, and $T_{2}^{-1}$ shows strong divergence at about 35 K. These two abnormal static and dynamical results indicate that the electronic state of the Cu atom changes from a nonmagnetic to magnetic one in the LTO$\rightarrow$LTT transition, and some magnetic phase transition occurs at about 35 K which is lower than the LTT transition temperature, 60 K.The Physical Society of Japan (JPS), May 1992, J Phys Soc Jpn, 61(5) (5), 1477 - 1480, English

UNi4BはT〜20 Kでトロイダル磁気秩序が発現する。この磁気状態で電流を印加することにより磁化を増強など非常に興味深い振る舞いを示すことが理論的に予測されている。今回我々は、電流を印加しながらNMR実験を行うことでUNi4Bの電流磁気効果を検証した。当日はその結果を発表する予定である。

UGe_2_はT_C_=52 Kの強磁性体でありながら圧力下で超伝導を発現する。強磁性相内に磁化が異常に増大する温度(T_X_)が存在するが、過去の圧力下の^73^Ge-NQR実験ではT_X_でのスピン-格子緩和率1/T_1_の発散がみられなかった。そこで今回我々はT_X_での磁気ゆらぎの詳細を明らかにするため、圧力下^73^Ge-NQRを行いスピン-スピン緩和時間T_2_を測定した。発表ではスピン-格子緩和時間T_1_およびT_2_の測定結果を報告し、T_X_近傍での磁気ゆらぎについて議論する。

URhGe. The magnitude and direction of the internal field, H_int, and parameters
of the electric field gradient at the Ge site were determined experimentally.
Using powdered polycrystalline samples oriented by different methods, the field
dependences of NMR shift and nuclear spin relaxation rates for H_0 // c (easy
axis) and H_0 // b were obtained. From the NMR shifts for H_0 // b, we
confirmed a gradual suppression of the Curie temperature and observed a phase
separation near the spin reorientation. The observation of the phase separation
gives microscopic evidence that the spin reorientation under H_0 // b is of
first order at low temperatures. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T_1
indicates that the magnetic fluctuations are suppressed for H_0 // c, whereas
the fluctuations remain strongly for H_0 // b. The enhancements of both 1/T_1T
and the nuclear spin-spin relaxation rate 1/T_2 for H_0 // b toward the spin
reorientation field suggest that the field-induced superconductivity in URhGe

- Heavy-fermion weak-ferromagnet YbRhSbA new Yb-based compound YbRhSb with the orthorhombic -TiNiSi-type structure has been synthesized. The magnetic-susceptibility, magnetization, and specific-heat (Cp) measurements of single crystals revealed a ferromagnetic transition at TC = 2.7 K. An extrapolation of the Cp/T data below 1 K yields 370 mJ/mol K2 as the value, and the magnetic entropy reaches only 0.25R ln 2 at TC. The spontaneous moment is unusually small, 3×10–3µB/Yb for B||b, while the magnetization increases to 1.4µB/Yb when the field of 15 T is applied along the a axis. We ascribe the weak ferromagnetism to a canted antiferromagnetic structure based on the observation of a metamagnetic transition and the decrease of TC with the increase of magnetic field.American Physical Society, 2004, Physical review. In the present work, in order to verify the single-site two-channel Kondo effect, we have measured the electrical resistivity, specific heat, magnetization, elastic constant, thermal expansion, and magnetostriction of a Pr dilute system Y(Pr)Ir2Zn20 down to low temperatures below 0.1 K. They exhibit non-Fermi liquid (NFL) behaviors whose temperature variations are consistent with those expected from calculation with the two-channel Kondo model. In addition, we observed similar NFL behaviors in La(Pr)Ti2Al20 and a dilute Nd system Y(Nd)Co2Zn20 with 4f3 configuration, which give us suggestive information of the two-channel Kondo effect.

We have advanced the understanding of various physical phenomena that are difficult to describe by conventional methods using basic degrees of freedom of charge, spin, and orbitals, as well as the possibility of predicting new functionalities.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (S), Kyoto University, 29 May 2015 - 31 Mar. 2020Understanding of the Mechanism of Superconductivity and Search for a Novel Superconducting State in Uranium Heavy-Fermion CompoundsWe have investigated the relationship between magnetic fluctuations and superconductivity in U-based ferromagnetic (FM) superconductors. We found that the intimate relationship between the FM spin fluctuations and superconductivity, and suggested that the superconductivity in the FM superconductors is induced by the FM spin fluctuations. We measured 59Co-NMR Knight shift on UCoGe, and found that the Knight shift is hardly changed and the NMR spectrum becomes broader in the SC state. The results are in good agreement with the spin-triplet pairing scenario. It has been recognized that the U-based FM superconductors are the promising candidates of the bulk topological Weyl superconductors. Just after the discovery of the superconductivity in UTe2, we immediately started the studies and succeeded in preparing the high-quality of single crystals. From the NMR measurement, it was revealed that UTe2 is an unconventional superconductor with spin degree of freedom.

- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area), The University of Tokyo, 13 Nov. 2008 - 31 Mar. 2014Emergence of Heavy Electrons and Their Ordering新学術領域研究「重い電子系の形成と秩序化」(平成20年度から平成24年度)の最終年度の研究成果について、公表された論文リストおよび国内学会あるいは国際学会等における発表について取りまとめを行った。これらの基礎データに加え、研究活動報告、特許出願状況などを加え、冊子体の成果報告書をまとめ印刷した。この成果報告書は当新学術領域研究の計画研究代表者、研究分担者、公募研究代表者に配布したほか、関連研究分野の有識者にも見ていただけるよう送付した。この冊子体については正式の成果報告書として6月に文科省に提出する予定である。 当新学術領域研究のホームページhttp://www.heavy-electrons.jpに関しては、上記の論文リスト、学会発表等のデータを含むよう更新した。重い電子系に関する研究は今後もさらに発展していくことが期待される。それに資することが出来るように、研究期間終了後もホームページを閲覧できる状態にして研究成果の公開を継続する体制を整えた。 当新学術領域研究の研究テーマと密接に関連する強相関電子系国際会議は平成25年8月5日から9日まで東京大学伊藤国際研究センターにおいて開催された。この会議の参加者は809名に上った。4つの基調報告を含む46件の招待講演、52件の口頭発表が伊藤謝恩ホールを主会場とし経済学部赤門総合研究棟の大講義室を第二会場として、パラレルセッションで講演が行われた。口頭発表のほか、639件のポスター発表が行われた。当新学術領域研究での研究成果が多数報告された。

The layer structured nitride TiNCl with a two-dimensional orthogonal network was intercalated with alkali metals as well as organic bases, which was changed into superconductors with T_
=8.6-16.4K. The electron-doped β-HfNCl and β-ZrNCl with double honey-comb layered structures were swelled with organic solvent molecules, and the effect of swelling (co-intercalation) on superconductivity was studied by measuring magnetic susceptibility and NMR. New silicon clathrate superconductors have been prepared under high pressure and high-temperature conditions. - Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A), The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, 2007 - 2008Charier density control and charge/spin dynamics in layered nitride superconductors金属原子と窒素原子が蜂の巣状に並び、さらにそれが層状に積み重なった構造を有する超伝導体において、電気伝導を担うキャリアの数や、蜂の巣格子面の面間隔を系統的に制御した一連の試料を作製し、超伝導転移温度やその他の物理的特性の、キャリア数に対する振る舞いを明らかにした。その結果、超伝導になるよりも高温では通常の金属とよく似た振る舞いを見せるが、その超伝導特性のうちのいくつかは、通常の超伝導体とは違った振る舞いを示すことがわかった。
- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 特定領域研究, 広島大学, 2007 - 2008層状およびカゴ状構造を有するエキゾチック超伝導体の開発1. La-Si二元系の高圧状態図を作成し, 新規Siリッチ相LaSi_5およびLaSi_<10>を合成し, それぞれ, Tc=10.5および6.7Kで超伝導体となることを見いだした。層状窒化物TiNClへのインターカレーションを調べ, アルカリ金属の種類にかかわらずTc=16.3Kの超伝導体となることをあきらかにした。有機塩基のピリジンのインターカレーションではTc=8.6Kの超伝導体となり, 超伝導発現の機構が異なる可能性が示唆された。 2. STM測定を行ない, 層状ハニカム構造をもつβ-HfNCl_<0.7>(T_c=24K)の鮮明なHf原子配列の観測に初めて成功した。この物質では面内100nm^2程度の領域で電子状態が均一であり, 異常な超伝導ギャップ値2Δ〜9k_BT_cを持つ事を明らかにした。銅酸化物超伝導体については電子状態が頂点酸素の影響を受けて生じている可能性を見出した。 3. NMRによる研究では, Li(THF)HfNClの磁束格子の運動について緩和率の測定から、磁化測定における不可逆温度曲線が、磁束ガラス状態と磁束液体との境界線であることを明らかにした。Fe系化合物のNMR実験を行いFeSe_<0.92>において、非BCS超伝導体に特有な緩和率の温度依存性を見いだし、超伝導状態についての知見を得た。また、SrFe_2As_2において圧力誘起超伝導を電気抵抗による測定で明らかにした。 4. 共有結合性の化合物の結晶膜をPLDなどの物理的な製膜法で合成できれば物質探索の幅が大きく広がる。共有結合性窒化物である六方晶窒化ホウ素(h-BN)の薄膜合成を試み、窒素ラジカル照射下でのPLDにより結晶性のh-BN薄膜を合成することができた。

- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Hiroshima University, 2006 - 2007Study of the competition between the multipole interaction and Kondo effect in magnetic ion doped RB_6 (R=rare-earthion)The purposes of this study are to clarify the mechanisms of the competition between the multipole interaction and Kondo effect in RB_6(R=rare-earth ion). We obtained the following results. (1) The investigation on Ce_xR_<1-x>B_6 showed that the Ce-Nd interaction is very weak but the Ce-Pr one is strong. In the latter, Ce and Pr ion cooperatively form the ordered state and Kondo effect is destroyed but in the former; the ordered state is constructed mainly by Ce ions and Nd ions have a strong paramagetnic character and Kondo effect remains even in the ordered state. (2) By the neutron diffraction experiment on phase IV of Ce_<0.7>La_<0.3>B_6, the direct observation of the octupole order was discovered. However, as the O_
-FQ order expected from the proposed octupole order competes with the O_ -AFQ interaction which is the intrinsic interaction in CeB_6, the overall nature of Ce_xLa_<1-x>B_6 has not yet been clarified. (3) From the investigation of the R-doping effect on phase IV of Ce_<0.7>La_<0.3>B_6, phase IV is found to be easily destroyed by a small amount of Nd and Pr dopings. However, in the case of Ce_<0.6>La_<0.4>B_6, phase IV is strong for the Nd-doping and the following unexpected results was obtained. The transition temperature from phase IV to paramagnetic one is enhanced by Nd doping. (4) The pressure effect on PrB_6 was investigated. We discovered that a new phase appears above T_<10>=7K by applying only a small pressure of 0.3GPa. We also found that commensurate(C) phase is largely enhanced by applying pressure. These indicate that the short range interaction depending sensitively on the Pr-Pr distance. (5) In the pressure effect on CeB_6 we discovered the appearance of the ferromagnetic(FM) order above P=1.3GPa. This FM ground state is constructed from the coexistence of the O_ -AFQ and T_ -AFO orders. - 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 特定領域研究, 広島大学, 2005 - 2006層状およびカゴ状構造を有するエキゾチック超伝導体の開発山中は,シリコンクラスレート超伝導体Ba_8Si_<46>を超高圧で処理し,さらにSiリッチなBaSi6に構造転移することを明らかにした。La-Si2元系では,新たに高圧相LaSi_5の合成に成功し,Siからなるポリアセン擬1次元鎖を含み,Tc=11Kの超伝導体となることを明らかにした。MgB_2と同形のBaAlSiは超伝導を示さないが,Siが僅かに過剰なBaAl_<0.95>Si_<1.05>はTc=3Kの超伝導体となることを見いだした。 藤は、ZrNC10.7の塩素核のNMR測定に成功し、核磁気縦緩和率1/T1の測定をおこなった。常伝導状態では、1/T_1T=10^<-4>1/sKと通常のメタル状態に於いて観測される値より1桁以上小さな値をとることが明らかとなった。このことは、塩素サイトの部分状態密度が小さいことを示す。超伝導転移温度以下では、1/T1はHebel-Slighter peakや指数関数的な温度依存性を示さず、8K付近に磁束格子の運動に起因する緩和率の極大を示す。これらより、この物質の2次元的超伝導特性を明らかにした。 浴野は,STM/STSによりMgB_2やCaAlSiの局所電子状態の測定を行なっているが,さらに詳しく調べるため,表面観測にとって最も重要なパラメーターである仕事関数の空間分布の測定を開始した.基準物質であるBi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_<8+y>について,この物質の仕事関数は,原子格子点の直上で大きい,BiO面変調構造の欠損部分で低く中腹部で高い,超伝導ギャップ分布との相関は弱い,など数々の新事実を見いだした. 犬丸は,CrNは反強磁性体でありT_N~270Kでmonoclinicな格子歪みを生じる.MgO(001)上に成長したCrN(001)薄膜では,バルクのT_N近傍で構造転移がみられるが,Al_2O_3面上のCrN(111)薄膜は構造転移を起こさなかった.つまりミスマッチが大きく格子が緩和した薄膜でも基板の効果で構造転移の有無を制御できた.CrN(111)薄膜の電気伝導にも異常が現れず,この膜は常磁性を保っていると推定された.

Construction of the high-pressure synthesis apparatus The high-pressure synthesis apparatus of the cubic multianvil type has been changed to the 6-8 Kawai type anvil to enable a higher pressure condition up to 20 GPa at 2000 °C. ii. Development of new superconductors with silicon nano-networks The silicon clathrate superconductor Ba_8Si_<46> previously found in our group,.was transformed into the silicon rich compound BaSi_6 under extremely high pressure conditions. A new silicon rich phase LaSi_5 in the La-Si binary system has been prepared under a high pressure of 15 GPa, which became a superconductor with Tc = 11 K. iii. High pressure synthesis of carbon clathrate compound In the course of the study to prepare carbon clathrate compounds, two different types of crystalline three-dimensional C_<60> polymers have been prepared, body centered orthorhombic and face centered cubic 3D polymers. Their structural analyses, electrical conductivity measurements, and micro-Vickers measurements were carried out. iv. Development of new layer structured nitride superconductors Zr_5N_5F_6 and Hf_5N_5F_6 were prepared, and their single crystals were grown using a high-pressure flux method. The structural analysis revealed that the compounds had a long periodic structure based on the LaOF type layer structure. The true chemical composition was found to be close to Zr_5(N_40)F_6. The interlayer fluorine atoms could be partially removed, and the layer compound was changed to a new superconductor with Tc=4.5 K. v. Synthesis of thin films of nitride superconductors Molybdenum nitride thin films were obtained using PLD and MBE deposition with nitrogen RF radical source. B-Mo2N were successfully deposited as thin films, which showed superconductivity of Tc = 5.2 K.
- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 特定領域研究, 広島大学, 2004 - 2005充填スクッテルダイト超伝導体の磁場誘起秩序と超伝導に関するNMRによる研究充填スクッテルダイト超伝導体PrOs_4Sb_<12>は、Pr系で初めての重い電子超伝導体である。この物質の特筆すべき点は、(1)超伝導転移にともなって比熱の2段転移が観測され、熱伝導測定から超伝導多重相の存在が指摘されている。(2)ミュウ中間子実験では自発磁化の存在が観測されており、スピン3重項状態の可能性が指摘されている。(3)超伝導相が消失した後、磁場誘起秩反強四極子序相が現れ、Th対称性をもつ局在4f電子の結晶場が重要である。(4)反強四極子秩序相はこの系の重い電子超伝導対生成機構に関与していると考えられている。にまとめられるが、超伝導パリティをふくめ磁場誘起秩序相と超伝導機構の関係など重要な課題が残っている。 本研究では、特にこれまでに行われていない単結晶試料を用いた極低温(0.3ケルビン-15ケルビン)でのSb-NMR/NQR実験を行った。得られた結果は(1)磁場依存性・角度依存Sb-NMR実験から、Sb-NMRスペクトラムの帰属を精度良く決定し、電子スピン磁化率を評価する際の基礎データである電場勾配テンソルやナイトシフトに関する情報を得た。(2)バンド計算との比較から、これまで未知であった、Sbの核四極子モーメントを決定した。(3)精密なSb-NQR実験を行い、核四極子パラメータの低温での異常な温度依存性がTh対称性をもつPr-4f^2由来の16極子によるものであることをはじめて明らかにし、多極子自由度の存在と超伝導の関係を指摘した。(4)超伝導状態でナイトシフトの温度依存性が無いことから、スピン3重項超伝導状態であることを示唆する結果を得た。(1)〜(3)については公表済み。(4)については、現在執筆中である。また、これ以外に、(5)(Ba,Sr)Fe4Sb12のNQR/NMR実験から強磁性スピン揺らぎに関する知見を得た。(6)重い電子超伝導準粒子磁化率評価に関して、比熱や緩和時間からスピン磁化率を評価できることを示した。
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), HIROSHIMA UNIVERSITY, 2003 - 2004Investigation of the Doping effect of the Magnetic ion on the hidden ordering and Kondo effect in CeB_6It is 1980 that the typical dense Kondo compound, CaB_6 is focused due to the appearance of the unusual phase transition. However, it is only recently that the quadrupolar and octupolar interactions play an essential role in its unusual low temperature phase. Recently, discovered new phase called as phase IV has attracted much attention and has been studied extensively to clarify its order parameter. The possibility of the appearance of the pure octupolar ordering has been discussed. In the present work, we have studied Ce_xR_<1-x>B_6(R=La,Pr,Nd) in detail and the followings are clarified. (1)The effect on the AF magnetic ordering by Nd doping in CeB_6 is very different from that by Pr doping. The interaction between Ce and Pr is strong but that between Ce and Nd is surprisingly week. As a result of that, the Kondo state in the AF state of Ce_xPr_<1-x>B_6, is suppressed rapidly but that of Ce_xNd_<1-x>B_6 survives even when the system sets in the AF magnetic phase. (2)In one ordered phase of Ce_<0.7>Pr_<0.3>B_6, the different ordering wave vector was found between the neutron scattering and X-ray one. The possibility of the separation between the orbital and spin was suspected in the rare-earth element in which the strong L-S coupling should be expected. (3)The R(=Pr,Nd) doping in phase IV induces the unusual new phase. (4)The thermoelectric power has been studied intensively in Ce_xR_<1-x>B_6(R=La,Pr,Nd) in both zero and finite magnetic fields. The new important information on the competition between the Kondo effect and RKKY interaction has been obtained.
- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 若手研究(B), 広島大学, 2001 - 2002ハフニウム窒化物層状超伝導体の核磁気共鳴による超伝導発現機構の研究ハフニウム窒化物及びジルコニウム窒化物超伝導体の電気抵抗測定,SQUID磁化測定,超伝導状態でのLi-NMR,N-NMRやCl-MR測定を行った。 Li-NMRではLiスペクトルはナイトシフトゼロ付近で観測され、Liサイトには状態密度がほとんどないことを見いだし、微視的な観点からもHfNClの2次元的な電子状態を明らかにした。磁化率や実験で得られた超伝導相図に対し熱力学的関係から超伝導に関する電子状態についても考察を行い状態密度が、N(E_F)〜0.25states/(eV spin f.u.)であり、得られた状態密度は、10K級のBCS超伝導体のそれに比べ1桁小さいことから、25Kという高いTcを出すには、通常のBCS機構では困難であることを示した(Physical Review Letters, 2001掲載) Cl-NMRからも塩素ブロック層では局所状態密度がほとんどないことがわかり、超伝導はHfN層で起こっていることを明らかにした(Physica B掲載予定)。、アイソトープ置換をした試料の^<15>N-NMRから、窒素サイトの局所状態密度は有限であることが明らかとなった。超伝導状態でナイトシフトが減少することから、クーパー対がスピン1重項状態であることを示す直接的な証拠を得た。また、窒素アイソトープ置換による磁化率の実験では、アイソトープ効果はほとんどないことを明らかにした。これらの結果を考え合わせると、通常の電子格子相互作用による超伝導機構では説明困難であり、電子構造の2次元性が重要であると考えられる(Physical Review B掲載予定)。 ジルコニウム窒化物超伝導体では,磁場中電気抵抗測定に初めて成功し、2次元的な超伝導ゆらぎによる電気抵抗の振る舞いが確認された。現在この研究成果については投稿準備中である。
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY, 2000 - 2001MAGNETISM AND STRUCTURE OF ALKALI-LOADED ZEOLITE LTAK-ion type zeolite LTA (K_<12>Al_<12>Si_<12>O_<48>(H_2O)_n, which is abbreviated to K_<12>-LTA), is one of synthetic hydrated aluminosilicates. Its framework consist of SiO_4 and AlO_4 tetrahedra sharing the oxygen atom each other and forms two kinds of cage called α and β. These cages are nested each other and form a cubic lattice with a lattice constant 1.23nm. It was found that this system undergoes a phase transition to a ferromagnetic (FM)-like state below around 7K when additional K-atoms are loaded into well-dehydrated K-ion type LTA. K_x/K_<12>-LTA, where x is the number of additional K atoms per α- (or β-) cage. We investigated the structure and magnetism in this system. The main results are summarized below. 1. Magnetic and structural phase diagram was established in loading density 0< x<7 and temperature rage 2K
Si-NMR and μSR experiments in K_x/K_<12>-LTA. The data clearly showed the magnetic transition as bulk properties. 3. We proposed the most probable magnetic structure which is a canted type II antiferromagnetism in face centered cubic lattice with spin S=1. 4. We discovered a new thermally chromatic phenomenon in Na-type zeolite FAU. - 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 奨励研究(A), 東京都立大学, 1999 - 2000アンモニアドープ系フラーレン超伝導体の磁性と超伝導-核磁気共鳴による研究-アンモニアドープ系フラーレン超伝導体の磁性と超伝導の関係について、(NH_3)K_3C_<60>の反強磁性磁気秩序状態の情報を微視的見地から得るために、プロトン(^1H)、カリウム(^<39>K)、カーボン(^<13>C)の核磁気共鳴による実験をおこなった。また、関連物質として層状超伝導体Li-HfNCl、アルカリソーダライト等の実験的研究を行った。 アンモニア系フラーレンのMott局在 アンモニアフラーレンのNMR研究を行い、低温45K以下で、フラーレン分子あたり1ボーア磁子(1μ_B)を有した反強磁性相であることを明らかにした。この系が300K以下の全温度領域で絶縁体状態であることを明らかにし、反強磁性構造は150Kで起きる構造挿転移と同時に起きるC60の分子軌道秩序と密接に関係していることを明らかにした。 層状超伝導体Li-HfNClの超伝導 Li-HfNCl系層状超伝導体はSQUID磁化率測定とNMR実験を相補的に用いることにより研究を行った。LiのNMRからLiサイトには電子状態密度を持たず、超伝導はHfN層で生じていることを明らかにした。また、磁化の測定から2次元超伝導に特有の超伝導揺らぎが見られることから、Li-HfNCl系の超伝導特性は層状構造を反映して準2次元的な超伝導であると考えられる。また、詳細な磁化率の測定から、状態密度や電子相関などについての議論を行い、これまでに報告されている超伝導とは異なった新しいタイプの超伝導であると示唆される(現在投稿中)。 アルカリソーダライトの反強磁性 アルカリソーダライトはFセンターがBCC構造をとるモット絶縁体であることがわかっている。このアルカリソーダライトについて磁化率およびNMRによる研究を行った。Al-NMRからナトリウム型ソーダライトは48Kで、また、カリウム型ソーダライトは70Kで反強磁性に転移することを明らかにした。磁気特性がFセンターのサイズに非常に敏感であることを明らかにした。
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Priority Areas (A), Tokyo Metropolitan University, 1999 - 2000Investigation on the silicon network solids and related materialsWe investigated silicon network solids and related materials, and obtained the following results. (1) Silicon clathrate superconductor, Ba_8Si_<46> was found to show anomalous behaviors of spin-spin relaxation rate 1/T_2 and Knight shift in the superconducting state. (2) It was confirmed that the sharp large peak of the electronic density of states at the Fermi level is responsible for the occurrence of superconductivity in Si_<46> superconductors. The peak is due to a hybridization between Si and Ba orbitals. (3) A_3C_<60> compounds with large and small lattice constants, such as (NH_3)A_3C_<60>, Na_2AC_<60> and Li_xAC_<60> where A is alkali metals, were systematically investigated by NMR. The t_<1u> orbital degeneracy is important for the stability of the metallic states, and that its splitting and orbital ordering lead to antiferromagnetic ground states. (4) A new layered superconductor, HfNCl, was investigated by NMR and magnetic susceptibility. It was found that HfNCl is a two-dimensional superconductor with a very small density of states at the Fermi level. It was suggested that the superconductivity cannot be explained by the conventional mechanisms. (5) Thermal expansion of MWNT and SWNT was determined by means of x-ray diffraction. MWNT sample grown in hydrogen atmosphere was found to contain a lot of closed Russian doll type tubes for the first time. (6) C_<60> Polymers including Li and Na were investigated by NMR. It was shown that there are sp^3 carbon atoms consistent with proposed structures, and that the alkali ions are moving in the crystals. (7) Alkali-loaded zeolite LTA, whose framework structure is similar to that of the Si46 clathrates, was studied by NMR to clarify the origin of the ferromagnetism at low temperature in this system. The ^<29>Si NMR gave us information on the distribution of the magnetic moments.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY, 1997 - 1998Electronic states of alkali-doped CィイD260ィエD2 compounds : a NMR studyA systematic study of alkali-doped CィイD260ィエD2 compounds, AィイD23ィエD2CィイD260ィエD2 where A is a alkali metal, has been performed to clarify the electronic states, using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. Main results are summarized as follows. 1. The ィイD113ィエD1C-heperfine coupling constants have been determined in the superconducting AィイD23ィエD2CィイD260ィエD2. 2. At, low temperatures (<100K), the enhancement of Korringa product, has been determined, which shows a weak antiferromagnetic correlation. 3. Rising temperature and increasing lattice constant, the enhancement of Korringa product, increases. This was at atributed to the short electron mean free path in this system. 4. Ammoniated AィイD23ィエD2CィイD260ィエD2 superconductors with expanded lattice constants show a "gap"-like behavior in the temperature dependence of spin-lattice relaxation time TィイD21ィエD2. 5. It was shown that (NH3)K3C60 is described as a localized spin system in whole temperature studied (<300 K) and undergoes an antiferromagnetic transition at 45 K. 6. From these results, it was strongly suggested that the metallic state of AィイD23ィエD2CィイD260ィエD2 is unstable to the local distortion around CィイD260ィエD2 molecules.
