  本研究は「西洋哲学における偶然性についての諸解釈が現代の諸問題にもたらす新しい視座とは何か、さらに新しい偶然性理解が可能か」という問いを核として展開されているが、まず、古代から現代にいたる西洋哲学の歴史の中で考察が積み重ねられてきた「偶然・偶然性」(chance, contingency)概念について、各時代及び各哲学者による概念規定を吟味しつつ、各時代に固有の偶然性概念の理解を明らかにすると同時に、各時代間での連続性と断絶、それが生じた背景を考察することを基礎研究とする。 その基礎として初年度の２０２３年度には、各人が「偶然性」をめぐる概念史的考察および現代における偶然性理解に取り組んだ。その一つの成果として、10月２８日に開催された哲学会第六十二回研究発表大会において分担研究者である渡名喜庸哲氏（立教大学）と、中澤栄輔氏（東京大学）を呼び、パンデミックをめぐる哲学的考察をテーマにしたワークショップ「パンデミックと哲学――生と医療、そして死――」を開催し、偶然的に降りかかってくる疫病などがわれわれの倫理観、倫理的判断におよぼす影響について議論を重ねた。渡名喜氏は「パンデミックはいかなる「生」を問題にするか：現代フランス哲学の立場から」というタイトルで発表を行い、パンデミックという生命と通常の生活を脅かす不慮かつ未曾有の事態に直面する中で、現代フランスの哲学者たちが「生」をどのように捉え直したかということに目を向け、現実的な局面での偶然性理解への考察を深めた。中澤氏は「COVID-19 パンデミックを契機とする医学的無益性概念の再考」というタイトルで発表を行い、COVID-19 治療における医学的無益性概念を再考することで、救急医療における医療資源配分と治療に関するの意思決定という医療倫理的に未整備と考えられる問題についての考察を展開させ、本科研費参加者たちと議論を交わした。

  本研究は2019年度後期から始まったが、2019年度は、12月にネウボラの専門家である髙橋睦子教授（吉備国際大学、社会福祉学）をお招きして、第１回国内研究会・公開講座「ネウボラーフィンランドの子育て家族支援」を大阪大学にて開催し、2020年3月にフィンランド（ヘルシンキ、タンペレ）で予備調査をする計画を立て、タンペレで調査をオーガナイズし通訳をしていただく現地の方とも打ち合わせを済ませていたが、新型コロナ（Covid-19）の世界的な蔓延の影響のなかフィランド渡航は延期とせざるをえなかった。2020年度は、新型コロナが収束に向かうことを期待しつつ、8月にフィンランドでの本調査を行う予定であったが、新型コロナ第２波の影響でこれらの計画もキャンセルせざるをえず、やむなく、渡航をしなくてもできることとして、8月にネウボラの専門家である横山美江教授（大阪市立大学大学院研究科、保健学）をお招きして、第２回国内研究会・公開講座「ネウボラーフィンランドの子育て家族支援に学ぶ」をオンライン（ウェブ会議システム）にて行い、また、12月には国内の共同研究者・研究協力者による第３回国内研究会を同じくオンラインにて行い、それぞれの準備状況と今後の研究計画を確認しあったものの、年度末の2021年3月に計画していたフィンランド渡航も延期とせざるをえなくなった。本共同研究は、フィンランド現地のネウボラでの職員・利用者などの当事者にインタヴューすることに基づいた研究として計画されたため、現地渡航ができない状況のなかで、その状況が改善されるのを待ちながら、不十分ながらできる範囲のことをしてきた。

  本研究の目的は、自分の知やコントロールを超えた「他なるもの」との関係が、主体のあり方をどのように形成し、また変容させるかを、身体の次元で具体的に解明するために、特に「生殖」 の観点から切り込むことである。人間を生殖するものと見る見方は、身体や性（ジェンダー）、そして他なるのものとの関係の考察を不可分なものとして要請する。また個人の経験の次元で見れば、生殖には、生む・生まないといった性差や個人差が本質的な要素として含まれる。本研究は、「生殖」を基軸とすることで、 一方の、具体的な経験を掬い取る研究と、他方の、差異や特殊性を考慮した上でなお、それらに通底する主体のあり方を浮かび上がらせる理論的研究とを、性・身体・他者の観点から統合した倫理学を構築することを目指している。 本年度はまず、当初の研究計画通り「生殖における男性の経験 」に焦点を当てたほか、生んでいない親である養親の経験を、父親の経験との連続性に注目しつつ考察し、「生殖における「間接性」――父親と養親の視点から」、「生むことから分離した「親」の形成――父親と養親の「間接性」を手がかりに」という二つの論文にまとめることができた。また、赤ちゃんポストや新生児養子縁組に関する日本の具体的な状況を考察する英語の論文を論文集に収めることができた。さらに、「生むこと」と「生まれること」の違いや、生むものとしての人間を考えることの意味などをレヴィナスやその他の思想家に沿って理論的に考察し、シンポジウムで提題した。 このような本年度の成果に限らず、本研究開始から生殖の様々な領域に関して蓄積してきた論文の考察、資料を踏まえた上で、生殖全般を俯瞰するかたちで、生殖における選択、性差、身体性、他なるものの経験 などの主題を考察し、著作、『生殖する人間の哲学――「母性」と血縁を問い直す』（8月刊行予定）にまとめることができた。


• Phenomenological Research on vulnerability and limitation of human being based on collaboration with Nordic phenomenologists

  This project based on collaboration with Nordic phenomenologists was intended to focus on the vulnerability and the limitations of human beings and phenomenologically investigate concrete problems such as birth, aging, illness, death, disability, pain, sex and gender. Every year we had collaborative meetings with Nordic phenomenologists, sent two or three members to the annual conference of the Nordic Society for Phenomenology and organized two round tables at the World Congress of Philosophy in Beijing 2018. Also we organized domestic meetings totally ten times, made mutual exchange of opinions on each result of research and edited a report (unpublished), so that we could began a negotiation with a publisher about a possibility to publish a book in the near future.

  While this research is at base motivated by "suffering", "corporeality", "the Other" and "gender", during this period, we have especially focused on more concrete themes deeply related to them such as "reproduction", "sexual differences" and "the feminine". On the one hand, we carried out the research on these themes using the philosophy of Levinas. On the other hand, we examined reproduction from the perspectives of the Other, sexual differences and suffering while referring to the feminist thoughts. Moreover, we considered philosophically and ethically the significance or influences of advancement of reproductive technology in taking its current situations and problems into consideration.

  In this study, we examined the concept of "economy" which had the long history of usage from Aristotle via theology to the modern meaning of economics. What we call "economy" should be taken as a fundamental problem in the domain of ethics that is crossing with the diverse disciplines of studies. To inquire into that enormous and various works requiring study, we managed some seminars to have discussions and to clarify the perspective of this concept. As a result, we acquired a coherent comprehension along the long history of this concept, which, in fact, has not been thematized up to this time. We clarified in the end the essence of the fundamental problems around the "economy" and ethics throughout the individual issues concerning some modern phenomena and modern thoughts.

  悪と苦しみという主題が、他なるものとの関係を探求するレヴィナス思想において、根本的な役割を果たしていることが明らかになった。また、他なるものとの関係という哲学的、倫理学的主題を、主体の身体、とりわけ苦しみを被る身体の観点から考察する重要性を示すことができた。さらに、苦しみや、苦しみの観点から見られた悪という主題は、文献研究に収まらない性格をもつため、倫理学において、文献研究と実践研究を必然的に結びつける主題であることが示された。


• Study on practical significance of knowledge of Fact, Act and Norm-Philosophical review of contrast between 'nature' and 'artificiality'

  In this research, we aimed to clarify the practical significance of knowledge and cognition from social, legal, systematic and ethical perspectives. To achieve this aim, we attempted to reexamine the traditional philosophical contrast between 'nature' and 'artificiality'. Each of the research achievements of head investigator and investigators is as follows. Sumio Matsunaga examined the situation in which knowledge concerns norm, and described how knowledge functions in custom and social system. Masayuki Amano examined the concepts of 'physis' and 'nomos' in Greek philosophy, and clarified the significance of those concepts. Mamoru Takayama reconsidered the concepts of 'nature' and 'life' through examining the significance of Hegel's "Logik" and causal theory of J.L.Mackie and B.Russell, and based on that, investigated the meanings of life, act, and norm. Masaki Ichinose investigated from a practical point of view how our knowledge is generated by taking the problem of causation into account concerning such fields as the philosophy of probability, vagueness, historical knowledge, and Bayesian epistemology. Tetsuya Sakakibara, who has participated in this research since 2003, approached a theme "Nature and Artificiality" from view point of problems concerning "Nature and Spirit" in Husserl's Phenomenology. Consequently, it has become clear that in Husserl these problems have been formed through a confrontation with thoughts of Dilthey and neokantian philosophers and a philosophy as "artificiality" has an ethicality when one consider it in perspective of Husserl. Mieko Itoh approached "Nature" and "Act" in philosophy of Kant, and studied their connection and their theoretical base. Mao Naka studied French Ethics, especially that of Levinas and Nabert and this study made clear important aspects of a rapport between "Suffering" and "Evil".
