■ 研究シーズ- 社会的弱者層の移動制約が、経済格差・教育格差に与える影響シーズカテゴリ：社会基盤（土木・建築・防災）, 人文・社会研究キーワード：交通弱者, 移動制約, 自動車保有, 経済格差研究の背景と目的：本研究では、自動車保有が社会的弱者層の経済機会や教育機会に与える影響を明らかにしていきます。自動車保有が経済的に困難な層に対しては、公共交通によるサービス提供が行われてきました。しかし、それらは一部大都市中心部を除き、自動車の十分な代替とはなっておらず、自動車を持たないことが経済格差や教育格差の拡大へつながる可能性が指摘されています。本研究を通じて、移動制約と貧困の連鎖の関係を考察しています。研究内容：本研究においては、米国のパーソントリップ調査（National Household Travel Survey: NHTS）を利用して、二人親家庭・ひとり親家庭の双方について子供の教育に関する送迎行動を分析します。具体的には、5-12歳の子供及びその保護者を分析対象とし、子の交通行動と、親の自動車保有・就労・世帯所得の関係を明らかにします。通学手段に関しては、公共サービスで最低限確保されていることが多いですが、子の通学以外のトリップに関しては完全に親の時間的・経済的能力に依存します。特に、貧困ひとり親家庭においては、親の時間的制約も経済的制約も非常に強く、このような子供に対する学外の人的資本投資の機会が、強く制限される可能性が高いと考えられます。本分析では、このようなトリップの頻度や目的・総交通所用時間が、親の就労や自動車保有によってどの程度異なるか検証します。期待される効果や応用分野：生活保護世帯への自動車保有の許可は、長年議論の対象となってきました。本研究では米国での経験を通じて、自動車保有の許可が貧困の連鎖を緩和する影響について明らかにし、政策的含意を得たいと思います。関係する業績：Matsuo, M. 2020.
