    We study the interaction of a neutron with the D ¯ s 0 * ( 2317 ) resonance and look at the amplitude below threshold and close above threshold. The study is done from the perspective that the D s 0 * ( 2317 ) resonance is a molecular state of D K in I = 0 . To study this interaction, we use the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations that considers the D K molecule as the cluster and the neutron as the external particle. We improve the fixed center approach to implement elastic unitarity around threshold, which is needed to obtain scattering parameters and to evaluate the n D ¯ s 0 * ( 2317 ) correlation function that we determine here. One interesting result of the study is the appearance of a resonant state below threshold with a binding of about 130 MeV and a width of about 80 MeV, which we suggest to look at in reactions measuring the invariant mass of π Σ D ¯ . The ALICE collaboration has initiated studies of this type, by looking at the p f 1 ( 1285 ) correlation function, and we can only encourage work in this direction, which should provide much valuable information on the nature of many resonant states.

    Abstract We investigate kaonic atom optical potentials of $^3$He and $^4$He phenomenologically based on the latest high-precision data of the $2p$ states of the kaonic atoms in helium (J-PARC E62). We consider a simple phenomenological form for the optical potential proportional to the nuclear density distributions and clarify the meanings and implications of the data by determining the potential parameters using the latest data. We find two sets of potential parameters for each of $K^--^3$He and $K^--^4$He that reproduce the data. We then extract the potential parameters consistent with the data of $^3$He and $^4$He atoms simultaneously. We report the possible strong isospin dependence of the potential, and the different strength of the data of $K^--^3$He and $K^--^4$He in the restrictions on the potential parameters. We mention that the study of the $1s$ states of the kaonic helium atom is very interesting as a next step. Observing these states could provide valuable information on potential parameters and kaonic nuclear s states because of the mutual influence between the atomic and the nuclear states of kaons with the same orbital angular momentum.

    Abstract We study the $$D^+ \rightarrow {\bar{K } }^0 \pi ^+ \eta $$ reaction where the $$a_0(980)$$ excitation plays a dominant role. We consider mechanisms of external and internal emission at the quark level, hadronize the $$q {\bar{q } }$$ components into two mesons and allow these mesons to undergo final state interaction where the $$a_0(980)$$ state is generated. While the $$a_0(980)$$ production is the dominant term, we also find other terms in the reaction that interfere with this production mode and, through interference with it, lead to a shape of the $$a_0(980)$$ significantly different from the one observed in other experiments, with an apparently much larger width.

    Abstract In this study, we investigate the two step sequential one pion production mechanism, that is, $ np(I=0)\to $$ \pi^-pp $ followed by the fusion reaction $ pp\to \pi^+d $, to describe the $ np\to \pi^+\pi^-d $ reaction with $ \pi^+\pi^- $ in state $ I=0 $. In this reaction, a narrow peak identified with a "$ d(2380) $" dibaryon has been previously observed. We discover that the second reaction step $ pp\to \pi^+d $ is driven by a triangle singularity that determines the position of the peak of the reaction and the high strength of the cross section. The combined cross section of these two mechanisms produces a narrow peak with a position, width, and strength, that are compatible with experimental observations within the applied approximations made. This novel interpretation of the peak accomplished without invoking a dibaryon explains why this peak has remained undetected in other reactions.

    AbstractWe study the $$D^+ \rightarrow \pi ^+ \eta \eta $$ D + π + η η and $$D^+ \rightarrow \pi ^+ \pi ^0 \eta $$ D + π + π 0 η reactions, which are single Cabibbo suppressed and can proceed both through internal and external emission. The primary mechanisms at quark level are considered, followed by hadronization to produce three mesons in the $$D^+$$ D + decay, and after that the final state interaction of these mesons leads to the production of the $$a_0(980)$$ a 0 ( 980 ) resonance, seen in the $$\pi ^+ \eta $$ π + η , $$\pi ^0 \eta $$ π 0 η mass distributions. The theory has three unknown parameters to determine the shape of the distributions and the ratio between the $$D^+ \rightarrow \pi ^+ \eta \eta $$ D + π + η η and $$D^+ \rightarrow \pi ^+ \pi ^0 \eta $$ D + π + π 0 η rates. This ratio restricts much the sets of parameters but there is still much freedom leading to different shapes in the mass distributions. We call for a measurement of these mass distributions that will settle the reaction mechanism, while at the same time provide relevant information on the way that the $$a_0(980)$$ a 0 ( 980 ) resonance is produced in the reactions.

    Abstract We study theoretically the structure of double pionic atoms, in which two negatively charged pions ($\pi^-$) are bound in the atomic orbits. The double pionic atom is considered to be an interesting system from the point of view of the multi-bosonic systems. In addition, it could be possible to deduce valuable information on the isospin $I = 2$$\pi\pi$ interaction and the pion–nucleus strong interaction. In this paper, we take into account the $\pi\pi$ strong and electromagnetic interactions, and evaluate the effects on the binding energies by perturbation theory for the double pionic atoms in heavy nuclei. We investigate several combinations of two pionic states and find that the order of magnitude of the energy shifts due to the $\pi\pi$ interaction is around 10 keV for the strong interaction and around 100 keV for the electromagnetic interaction for the ground states.

    AbstractWe develop a model to study the $$D^0 \rightarrow K^- \pi ^+ \eta $$ D 0 K - π + η weak decay, starting with the color favored external emission and Cabibbo favored mode at the quark level. A less favored internal emission decay mode is also studied as a source of small corrections. Some pairs of quarks are allowed to hadronize producing two pseudoscalar mesons, which posteriorly are allowed to interact to finally provide the $$K^- \pi ^+ \eta $$ K - π + η state. The chiral unitary approach is used to take into account the final state interaction of pairs of mesons, which has as a consequence the production of the $$\kappa $$ κ ($$K^*_0(700)$$ K 0 ( 700 ) ) and the $$a_0(980)$$ a 0 ( 980 ) resonances, well visible in the invariant mass distributions. We also introduce the $$\bar{K}^{*0} \eta $$ K ¯ 0 η production in a phenomenological way and show that the s-wave pseudoscalar interaction together with this vector excitation mode are sufficient to provide a fair reproduction of the experimental data. The model provides the relative weight of the $$a_0(980)$$ a 0 ( 980 ) to the $$\kappa $$ κ excitation, and their strength is clearly visible in the low energy part of the $$K \pi $$ K π spectrum.

    Pauli blocking is carefully investigated for the processes of $NN \rightarrow N \Delta$ and $\Delta \rightarrow N \pi$ in heavy-ion collisions, aiming at a more precise prediction of the $\pi^-/ \pi^+$ ratio which is an important observable to constrain the high-density symmetry energy. We use the AMD+JAM approach, which combines the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics for the time evolution of nucleons and the JAM model to treat processes for $\Delta$ resonances and pions. As is known in general transport-code simulations, it is difficult to treat Pauli blocking very precisely due to unphysical fluctuations and additional smearing of the phase-space distribution function, when Pauli blocking is treated in the standard method of JAM. We propose an improved method in AMD+JAM to use the Wigner function precisely calculated in AMD as the blocking probability. Different Pauli blocking methods are compared in heavy-ion collisions of neutron-rich nuclei, ${}^{132}\mathrm{Sn}+{}^{124}\mathrm{Sn}$, at 270 MeV/nucleon. With the more accurate method, we find that Pauli blocking is stronger, in particular for the neutron in the final state in $NN \rightarrow N \Delta$ and $ \Delta \to N\pi$, compared to the case with a proton in the final state. Consequently, the $\pi^-/\pi^+$ ratio becomes higher when the Pauli blocking is improved, the effect of which is found to be comparable to the sensitivity to the high-density symmetry energy.

    原子核同士の衝突(重イオン衝突)では、例えば通常の約2倍の高密度が実現し、不安定核ビームの利用により陽子中性子の非対称度を変化させることもできる。本研究では、核子多体系としての運動を解く反対称化分子動力学(AMD)に別の輸送模型(sJAM)を組み合わせる枠組みを用いて、衝突ダイナミクスからπ中間子生成などの観測量までの総合的理解を目指している。この年度は、NN→NΔ過程などにおいて核子(N)やΔ共鳴のポテンシャルを適切に取り扱う手法を確立し、それによりπ生成に大きな影響があることがわかってきた。 まず、核子のポテンシャルの運動量依存性の重要性がはっきりした。これは、NN→NΔでΔが作られる際に、始状態のNの運動量は大きいのに対して終状態ではNは低運動量となるからである。核子当たり270 MeVの重イオン衝突では、π生成量は、ポテンシャルを考慮しない場合に比べて一桁大きくなり、以前は実験値を過小評価していたものが過大評価することになった。 また、Δのポテンシャルのアイソベクトル部分(Δの4つの荷電状態間のスプリッティング)については、既存の研究からは確固とした情報が不足しているのであるが、その選択が荷電中間子比にどのように影響するかを調査した。通常は、高密度状態での中性子陽子比(n/p)と荷電π中間子比の間に正の相関があると期待されているのであるが、Δのポテンシャルの選択によってはその相関が小さくなり、逆相関にもなり得ることがわかってきた。 AMDでは核子の状態が位相空間での波束として扱われているが、その運動量幅がどのようにダイナミクスに反映されるかについて考察を行い、関連する論文を発表した。π生成に関連しては、NN→NNやNN→NΔなどの二核子衝突に適切に運動量幅が反映されるように、AMD内での二核子衝突の扱いとsJAMへの接続方法を改善した。

    本研究では、微視的な輸送模型を駆使し、低中エネルギー領域における重イオン衝突を計算することで、高密度非対称核物質における状態方程式(対称エネルギーの密度依存性)に関する情報を引き出すことを目的としている。中性子過剰な原子核衝突によって生成された荷電π中間子比が、高密度領域の対称エネルギーに敏感であると提案され、理研RIBFでSn+Sn衝突実験が行われたことから、特にπ中間子生成に着目した。核子系の運動を記述する反対称化分子動力学(AMD)法と、Δ共鳴やπ中間子などの運動を記述する微視的輸送模型(JAM)を連動させた輸送模型(AMD+JAM)を用いて本研究を推進した。 重イオン衝突では、反応過程においてΔ生成・吸収(NN<->NΔ)やπ中間子生成(Δ->Nπ)反応などが生じる。本年度は、輸送模型でこれらの反応について、核子に対するパウリブロッキングが、終状態のπ中間子生成数や荷電π中間子比に影響を及ぼすことを明らかにした。パウリブロッキングの取り扱いによる影響を定量的に議論し、π中間子生成の実験データを正しく理解するための重要な要因の一つであることを示した。実験データから新たな知見や物理量を引き出すためには、信頼度の高い理論模型が求められる。本輸送模型(AMD+JAM)では、このパウリブロッキングによる不定性を取り除いて模型を改良することができた。その上で、理研実験に対応したπ中間子生成を計算し、これらの研究成果を国際学術論文として出版した。また、重イオン衝突では、各時刻で温度や密度が異なる多彩な核物質となるため、様々な状況下でクラスターを含む核子系や中間子が織りなす現象・性質を理解する必要がある。本年度は、カイラルユニタリー模型を用いて、種々のハドロン反応やハドロン共鳴の研究を行い、これらの成果を国際学術論文として出版した。

    Neutron star physics has been studied from the view points of multi-component high-density matter, neutron-rich nuclear matter, and compact star astrophysics. Achievements are published in around 370 papers, which include cooperation works with experiments such as, the prediction of the anti-K nucleus binding energy and its confirmation, determination of hyperon-nucleus potential using hyperon production data, constraint on Lambda-Lambda potential using momentum correlation from heavy-ion collisions, predictions of low-energy E1 strength and its relation to neutron skin thickness, prediction of the pi-/pi+ ratio from neutron rich nuclear collisions, constraints on symmetry energy parameters using the cold atom EOS, construction of new ab initio EOS table applicable to compact star phenomena, constraints on the symmetry energy parameter using torsional oscillation of neutron stars.
