- Experimental Study on Tension Softening Properties of Concrete with Micro Cracks Due to Alkali-Silica Reactionコンクリートの引張軟化特性は,コンクリートの破壊特性を評価する際の重要な情報のひとつである.本論文では,アルカリシリカ反応(ASR)が進行し,その結果ひび割れが生じているコンクリートの引張軟化曲線と破壊エネルギーを求め,ASRに起因するひび割れと破壊挙動との関係を明らかにすることを目的とした.切欠きを有するコンクリートはり供試体を用いて3点曲げ試験を行い,荷重,変位,開口変位を求めた.載荷中にデジタルカメラとマイクロスコープを用いて供試体表面の撮影を行い,撮影画像からデジタル画像相関法を用いて表面ひずみを計測した.本実験より,ASRに起因するひび割れを有するコンクリートの引張軟化特性を評価することができた.The Society of Materials Science, Japan, Oct. 2015, Proceedings of the Concrete Structure Scenarios, 15, 523 - 528, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal
- Fundamental Study for Influence of Internal Cracks of Concrete Affected by Alkali-Silica Reaction on Its Compressive StrengthASRによってひび割れが生じたコンクリート角柱供試体を対象として,表面を研磨した断面を観察することによってASRひび割れの内部状況を明らかにするとともに,内部ひび割れの可視化を試みた.また,研磨面のスキャナ画像を積層化して,ひび割れの3次元可視化を行った.ひび割れの3次元的可視化によって,骨材とASRひび割れ進展について,骨材の大小ならびにひび割れ深さによらず進展していくことがわかった.また,3次元可視化を行うことでひび割れの立体的な形状を直感的に理解することができた.圧縮載荷試験では,表面に生じたひび割れと圧縮破壊挙動の関係について検討を行い,圧縮で載荷軸方向のASRひび割れが開口し破壊に至ることが,画像解析によって得られたひずみ分布から確認できた.The Society of Materials Science, Japan, Oct. 2015, Proceedings of the Concrete Structure Scenarios, 15, 517 - 522, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- Prediction of the Failure Mode of RC Beams by Using Image Analysis本研究では,載荷中の供試体の変形を画像解析を用いて計測し,有限要素により算出したひずみの分布を示すことで,視覚的に供試体の変形を捉えるという一連の作業を瞬時に行うことができる,リアルタイム非接触ひずみ計測システム(リアルタイムシステム)を開発した。そして,鉄筋コンクリート(RC)はりの載荷試験を行い,本システムを適用し算出した,RCはり表面に発生したひずみの分布から,ひび割れの特徴,さらに破壊性状の経時的変化を検討した。その結果,このシステムを使用することにより,ひび割れの発生位置および進展を再現できることを確認し,RCはりの破壊性状をリアルタイムに予測できる可能性を示した。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jul. 2008, Journal of JCI, Vol.30,No.3,pp.793-798(3) (3), 793 - 798, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal
- Mechanism on Shear-Sliding Failure in RC Members with Construction Joints本研究では,接合部に貫通鉄筋およびせん断キーを有するRC部材の静的単調2面せん断試験を対象として,接合部に界面要素を用いた3次元有限要素解析を行なった。実験は,せん断キーで破壊を生じさせるため,載荷点を接合部,支点をウェブ上面に設定した。解析結果から,ずれせん断耐力に対するスターラップの貢献分は,ハンチ筋による貢献分と比較してやや高いことがわかった。また,せん断キーは,キー自体が破壊に至るまでウェブ部と床版部の一体性を保つことを,界面要素より得られるずれ変位から確認した。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jul. 2008, Journal of JCI, Vol.30,No.3,pp.589-594(3) (3), 589 - 594, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- The present study is aimed at investigating the shear behavior of reinforced concrete beams with doubly reinforced rectangular cross-section, with and without steel fibers, affected by distributed cracks. The influence of the distributed cracks was mathematically quantified with the help of a crack density parameter. Monotonic loading tests were conducted on the RC beams and their failure indicated a mixed mode between both diagonal tension and diagonal compression failures. Due to the reinforcement layout, the effect of the longitudinal compression reinforcement on the shear carrying capacity should be taken into account. - 3D Lattice Model Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Structural Members with Corrosion-Damaged Steels鉄筋腐食したコンクリート構造部材の残存構造性能を把握するため,3次元格子モデルを用いて解析的に検討した。格子モデルは,トラス要素で構成された簡便な解析モデルである。本研究では,鉄筋腐食の程度を,鉄筋の断面欠損,および主鉄筋とコンクリートの付着劣化として解析に反映させた。解析対象は,建設後約40年経過した桟橋から切り取ったRCはりである。3次元格子モデルに,空間的にばらついた鉄筋腐食による断面欠損率を考慮することによって,鉄筋降伏荷重,最大荷重,および変形性能をおおむね予測できた。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jul. 2007, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.29, No.3, pp.1675-1680(3) (3), 1675 - 1680, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- Shear Carrying Capacity of RC Beams with Short Steel Fiber and Stirrupsせん断補強筋を有する鋼繊維補強RCはりにおける,鋼繊維によるせん断補強効果を評価することを目的に,せん断補強筋比と鋼繊維混入率をパラメータとしてRCはりのせん断載荷試験を行った。鋼繊維のせん断補強効果は,重合せの原理に基づいた修正トラス理論を用いて検討した。実験結果から,せん断補強筋と鋼繊維を併用することで,0.3vo1%程度の低繊維混入率の場合においても鋼繊維によるせん断補強効果が向上すること,また,その際のせん断補強効果のばらつきを抑制することができることを確認した。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jul. 2007, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.29, No.3, pp.1417-1422(3) (3), 1417 - 1422, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal
- Identification for Localized Compressive Failure Zone of Concrete using Image Analysis圧縮力を受けて破壊に至るコンクリート部材において,ポストピーク領域では部材軸に沿ったひずみは一様に分布せず,ある領域に局所化する。その領域は,部材長さによっても異なる。本研究では,画像解析により,コンクリート表面の変形挙動からこの圧縮局所化領域を同定した。コンクリート部材に対し圧縮試験を行い,画像解析手法を用いて,部材寸法およびコンクリートの種類(普通,繊維補強,超高強度繊維補強)が圧縮局所化領域に与える影響について検討した。その結果,全ての部材寸法において,圧縮局所化領域は繊維補強コンクリートが最も大きく,超高強度繊維補強コンクリートが最も小さくなることがわかった。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jul. 2007, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.29, No.3, pp.43-48(3) (3), 43 - 48, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- This study attempts to expand the application of the conventional 2D lattice model, which can express the shear resisting mechanism of RC structural members, to a 3D analytical model. Use of a 3D lattice model for the simulation of torsional and biaxial responses of RC structural members is presented. The results of static analysis are compared with several sets of experimental results for RC beams/columns subjected to pure torsion or cyclic combined loads of torsion and bending. In addition, the dynamic analysis of RC columns subjected to bilateral seismic loading is carried out. - The nonlinear earthquake response analysis for RC bridge piers was conducted for the purpose of verifying the validity of the static and dynamic lattice model considering the buckling evaluation of reinforcing bar. The buckling behavior of reinforcing bar is represented by a spatially averaged stress-strain relationship for reinforcing bar in compression. It has been confirmed that the static lattice model analysis considering the buckling can accurately predict the behavior of RC bridge piers. - It is usually observed that RC deep beams, where the entire member becomes D-region, fail by the localized compressive failure of concrete. In this study, the utilization of the concept on localized compressive failure in formulation of the material model of concrete, based on the parameters such as the localized compressive failure length, Lp, and the compressive fracture energy, GFc, is performed. - Analysis on Cyclic Behavior of RC Bridge Piers Using Lattice Model Considering Buckling繰返し水平力を受ける鉄筋コンクリート橋脚の塑性変形挙動を把握することを目的として,静的格子モデル解析による検討を試みた。静的格子モデルは,対象部材を適切な材料モデルを組み込んだトラス要素に離散化することで,せん断耐荷機構を明確に評価できる簡便な解析モデルである。壁式鉄筋コンクリート橋脚を対象とした,水平一方向静的交番載荷実験の結果と解析結果を比較した結果,軸方向鉄筋の座屈挙動を適切にモデル化することで,最大耐力以降の挙動が把握できることを確認した。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jun. 2002, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.24, No.2, pp.979-984(2) (2), 979 - 984, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal
- Nonlinear Analysis of RC members with Construction JointsPC橋梁の軽量化手法として,ウェブ部材にプレキャストプレテンション部材を用いることが検討されている。その場合,フランジ部の現場打設コンクリートとプレテンション部材間で打継ぎ面が生じることになる。本研究では,打継ぎ面を有するRC部材問の接合方法を3通りに変化させた静的単調2面せん断試験をモデルとして,非線形有限要素解析を行い,打継ぎ面の形状が及ぼす影響について解析的に把握することを試みた。解析は打継ぎ面に界面要素を配置してモデル化し,2次元及び3次元の非線形解析を行った。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jun. 2002, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.24, No.2, pp.709-714(2) (2), 709 - 714, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- Numerical Study on Localization in Compressive Failure of Concrete Structure格子モデルは,鉄筋コンクリート部材の斜めひび割れの発生,せん断補強筋の降伏,ウェブコンクリートの破壊までの一連の耐荷機構の変化を表現し,かつマクロ的な耐荷機構モデルの構築に役立つ簡易な解析手法である。本研究では,格子モデルを一般的なはり理論の適用できない,応力分布が一様でない領域(D-領域)に対して適用することを試み,その例としてRCディープビームを取り上げて解析を行った。このとき,コンクリートの圧縮部材に対して,圧縮破壊に要するエネルギーを一定にするように圧縮応力-ひずみ関係を変えることで,局所的な圧縮破壊を表現した。日本コンクリート工学協会, Jun. 2000, Proceedings of JCI, Vol.22, No.3, pp.151-156(3) (3), 151 - 156, Japanese[Refereed]Scientific journal

- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), Kobe University, Apr. 2019 - Mar. 2023, Principal investigatorClarification on Shear Resisting Mechanics of Damaged Concrete Members Based on Micro-Structural Interactive Fracture Mechanics本研究では、アルカリシリカ反応(ASR)によって劣化したコンクリート部材のせん断抵抗機構を理論的に説明することを最終目標とする。2021年度は、コンクリートの内在損傷がひび割れ進展に与える影響と部材強度の寸法効果を明らかにするために、ASR劣化が生じたコンクリート供試体ならびにRC部材の載荷実験を実施した。得られた成果は以下の通りである。 成果1:ASRが生じたRCはりのせん断耐荷機構を明らかにするため、実験的に詳細調査を行った。実験ではせん断スパン有効高さ比a/d = 1.0(ディープビーム)、2.5(ショートビーム)、4.5(スレンダービーム)の3種類のRCはりを対象とした。せん断載荷試験では、ASRによる主鉄筋に沿ったひび割れの開口変位、鉄筋ひずみ、ならびに画像解析によって斜めひび割れの進展挙動を計測した。一連の実験によって、斜めひび割れの発生荷重、ひび割れの角度や分散性の違いにより、a/dが異なるASR供試体のせん断耐力に与える影響を明らかにした。 成果2:ASR劣化したコンクリートのポストピーク挙動について実験的に検討をした。膨張が1000~3000μ程度の無拘束のコンクリートの圧縮破壊試験をした結果、劣化に伴い弾性係数は大幅に低下するものの、圧縮強度や圧縮破壊エネルギーは大きく低下しないことを明らかにした。また、画像解析を用いて圧縮破壊における局所化挙動を明らかにした。

In this study, the strain distribution in the mortar and concrete was investigated experimentally through compressive loading tests and expansion pressure tests using a newly developed small cylindrical jack. A prototype of the small jack has a cylinder in which 10 mm of the diameter and 100 mm in the length. The experimental results of loading tests were compared with the analysis that is based on the theory of elasticity and the thick-wall cylinder theory. In addition, in order to evaluate the prestressing force in the PC members damaged due to the Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) by using the proposed method, the mechanical properties of concrete having the ASR-induced cracks, especially the elastic modulus and the Poisson’s ratio.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), Tokyo Institute of Technology, Apr. 2014 - Mar. 2017New Strengthening Method for Existing Concrete Structures to Achieve the Upgrading of InfrastructuresIn this research, the simple, effective and new strengthening methods for existing concrete structures have been developed. First one is the method to attach the CFRP sheet to concrete structures. Second one is the method to attach the ultra high-strength fiber reinforced concrete (UFC) plate to concrete structures. Last one is the method to use the embedded form and PC strands in combination. In the first one, when 50% of PC strands are cut off at the span center, the flexural capacity of a PC beam can be recovered completely by attaching CFRP sheets adequately at the bottom of a PC beam. In the second one, the flexural and shear capacities of damaged reinforced concrete beams can be restored by attaching the UFC plate on the surface of damaged reinforced concrete beams. In the last one, the strengthening effect of embedded form with fine diameter stainless bars and PC strands in combination can increase the capacity of the original damaged concrete structures significantly.

The performance of concrete structural members damaged due to material deteriorations such as the Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) has been evaluated. In addition, the target is extended to the high strength concrete members. In the experiment, an image analysis was conducted by means of an image correction method in order to determine a crack propagation in the ASR damaged concrete under tension or compression stresses. The image-based detection for a very brittle compressive failure in the ultra-high strength fiber reinforced cementitious materials were successively carried out using a high-speed camera and its harmonized data accumulation system. Nonlinear analysis for precast concrete bridge columns was also conducted to be investigated in the extended technology for a large domain of the image analysis developed here.

The presence of micro cracks due to the volume expansion of concrete during the hardening or material damages such as Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) also affects the fracture failure behavior of concrete. In this study, the fracture of materials which was pre-damaged due to the several reasons was investigated in detail. In addition, the damaged concrete members failed in shear were tested. Interestingly, the distribution of internal cracks in the concrete induced by the ASR was observed by means of a three dimensional integration technique using digital images which was captured from a thinly sliced concrete specimen polished from its surface. The fracture properties of the ASR damaged concrete were evaluated by not only conventional procedures and also the image analysis in order to measure the crack propagation in the concrete during loading tests.

This integrated technology is comprised of three elemental technologies. Namely, they are (1) the deterioration diagnosis technology for materials of existing concrete structures, (2) the evaluation technology for remaining load carrying capacity of deteriorated structures, and (3) the development of various repairing or strengthening techniques using new materials. By integrating these three elemental technologies, we have proposed practical and usefulmeasures for the maintenance of infrastructures.

In the experiment, a developed measurement instrument embedded in the web concrete of RC beams is used to obtain the internal information in the concrete being affected by the corrosion condition of reinforcement. In addition, an image analysis which can identify the localization of strain on the concrete surface is used in the experiment. The experiment shows the influence of corrosion cracks occurred along with the longitudinal reinforcement on the initiation and propagation of the decisive diagonal crack due to the further loading. Moreover, the nonlinear analysis shows that the shear carrying capacity of the RC beams having sufficient anchorage reinforcement increases when the bond property degrades as the steel corrosion proceeds. This behavior of the RC beams can be explained by means of the response of arch elements in the lattice model that represent the formation of the tied arch mechanism in the beam.

In addition, the super high speed photography system which can capture high-speed crack development and the wide-area image analysis system which can be applied to large-scale concrete structures have been established. Finally, by integrating these systems, the new image analysis system to capture the failure progress behavior of various concrete structures has been presented.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (B), Tokyo Institute of Technology, Apr. 2006 - Mar. 2007, Principal investigatorDevelopment of Seismic Performance Evaluation Method for Concrete Structural System本研究は、鉄筋コンクリート(RC)部材のせん断耐荷機構をシンプルに評価できる3次元格子モデルを用いて、地震力を受けるRC構造物全体系の3次元地震時挙動を評価することを試みたものである。昨年度構築した3次元格子モデルを用いて、鉄筋腐食したRCはり部材のせん断耐荷機構の予測するために、鉄筋とコンクリートの付着劣化モデルを新たに3次元格子モデルに組み込むことを試みた。特に、実際の供用環境下で鉄筋腐食したRC部材を対象として、3次元格子モデルを用いた解析を行い、部材の残存構造性能を予測した。本検討から、以下の2つの結論を得た。1.複数本の主鉄筋それぞれが異なる腐食状態を有するRC部材の場合,その影響を2次元モデルでは適切に再現できないことを確認した。2.3次元格子モデルを用いた解析によって,鉄筋腐食したRC部材の残存構造性能の評価を試みた結果,鉄筋降伏荷重および最大荷重に関して,実験値をほぼ妥当に予測することができた。なお、鉄筋腐食などの劣化を考慮した構造物全体系の耐震性能評価については、将来の課題として残っている。 また、昨年に続き、鋼繊維補強コンクリートを用いた構造部材を対象とした基礎的な実験も行った。ここでは、分布ひび割れが既に生じている部材を対象として、鋼繊維による補強効果を実験的に検討している。実験結果から、供試体表面を区分し、各区分領域内で生じているひび割れの平均幅と長さの積をひび割れ密度インデックスと定義し、算出した値が部材のせん断耐力に影響することがわかった。また、既存のひび割れがRC部材のせん断挙動に影響を与えることが実験からわかったため、将来的にはひび割れ密度インデックスを用いて、部材のせん断耐力を予測することを目指していく。

And it was confirmed that the deterioration of reinforced concrete due to the steel corrosion apparently agreed with the Arrhenius theory. (2) In addition, it became possible to construct the ionic migration system in the concrete which considers the influence of temperature by in ionic migration system (Nernst - to designate Planck system as basic system, ionic migration system which considers Debye-Huckel system which expresses influence of coexistence ion and electrical neutrality condition for judging entire ionic migration) in the concrete which is the research result of the applicant Arrenius system adding. (3) According to the results, the life time of reinforced concrete exponentially decreased with the temperature of the city increasing. Especially, it was indicated that the environment against steel corrosion in concrete from the viewpoint of temperature effect. The life time of reinforced concrete in South-East Asia became 70% of that in mild temperature environment (20℃).
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), Tokyo Institute of Technology, 2005 - 2006Research on Rational Design of Prestressed Concrete StructuresThe purpose of this research is to evaluate the shear resisting mechanism of prestressed concrete (PC) structural members based on the mechanical consideration and to provide the adequate safety against the shear failure of PC structural members. To achieve this purpose, experimental and numerical investigations have been done during 2005 and 2006. Obtained results are as follows : In 2005, experiments and numerical analyses were carried out to evaluate the shear resisting mechanism of PC members. Various experimental data were collected throughout the world. These data were used to evaluate the accuracy and validity of the simplified truss model. Parametric numerical analyses were also performed to formulate the simplified truss model for PC structural members with shear reinforcement. Finally, the simplified truss model to explain the shear resisting mechanism of PC members has been proposed. In 2006, the experiments of externally prestressed concrete beams and also segmental PC beams with external cables were performed. These experiments have been done to examine the accuracy and validity of the simplified truss model. From the experimental and numerical examinations, it has been confirmed that the simplified truss model can be adopted to evaluate the shear resisting mechanism and also to predict the shear resisting capacity of PC members. The obtained results of this research have been published in various journals, such as JSCE Journal of Material, Concrete Structures and Pavements, and the Proceeding of Japan Concrete Institutes, etc.
