- The uncertainties related to target off-block time (TOBT), the pushback-ready time predicted by aircraft operators, affect greatly airport operations. The accuracy of TOBT is, in general, difficult to be improved, because there are many uncertain factors in the departure process, e.g., delays in the passengers’ boarding. A better understanding of TOBT uncertainties, however, may help to improve airport surface operations. Currently, TOBT is estimated as a single point in time and updated as necessary by aircraft operators. Instead, the author proposes that TOBT is estimated as a distribution with a Johnson-SU distribution. The distribution parameters are estimated with time by neural networks using the history of TOBT updates. The main benefit of the proposed method is found in assigning the better pushback approval time of each departure aircraft for more efficient surface operations, which is demonstrated clearly by the simulation results. - In October 2010, a new procedure was introduced for the D runway at Tokyo International airport (Haneda airport). Before its introduction, a hazard analysis was carried out based on meetings and a questionnaire survey. In the future, the introduction of these kinds of new air traffic control procedures will increase. A meeting is generally held where Brainstorming techniques are used to discuss hazard identification. Participants of the meeting need to meet at the same place at the same time. However, there is a high financial burden and wasted time for the participants. For the reduction of burdens, a methodology for safety assessment utilizing an internet environment was proposed and a test system was constructed. It's a type of information sharing system, but the system is specialized for hazard identification and risk assessment. This paper outlines this system. - Currently, the minimum allowed longitudinal time separation between two aircraft on oceanic routes is set to 15 minutes. However, to deal with heavy traffic, a decrease to 10 minutes has been under consideration. So far, a major disadvantage of the conventional loss distribution method applied to calculate the risk of collision has been that it cannot guarantee safety in the case of reduced separation minima. - A methodology for analysis of a pilots' landing control at the visual approach has been developed using a neural network modeling. While our previous study analyzed flight simulator operations, this paper describes the analysis of a real flight landing case. An experimental method which utilizes image processing of recorded video data is developed to obtain necessary data such as time histories of visual cues and control inputs. The effectiveness of this proposed method is confirmed by comparing values and analysis results from the video data with results obtained using GPS/INS data. - A neural network modeling approach has been developed to analyze human pilots' control by utilizing the recorded time history of visual cues and pilot control inputs. An experimental method is developed to record the time histories of visual cues and pilot control inputs by analyzing recorded video data at a real flight. The developed method makes it possible to obtain neural network model of a pilot at a real landing case. In this research, the reliability of this method is confirmed by comparing the video data with GPS/INS data. - Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists, Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists, National Institute of Maritime, Port and Aviation Technology, 01 Apr. 2019 - 31 Mar. 2022Optimization of Departure Aircraft Operation離陸までの地上航空機の効率向上策については、混雑空港においては滑走路において他の航空機の離着陸待ちが発生するため、ゲート出発時刻を調整することにより、いかに離着陸待ちを減らせるかがポイントとなる。今年度は、その手法として、ゲート出発予定時刻の予測性向上を主として実施した。ゲート出発予定時刻は航空会社から提供されるが、適宜データは更新される。実際のゲート出発時刻もデータとして存在するため、この更新履歴のデータをもとに、ゲート出発が可能となる時刻をニューラルネットワークにより予測する手法を開発した。時刻の予測にあたっては、一点の推定ではなく分布の推定とすることにより、各時刻におけるゲート出発の可能性を確率で表すこととした。今後、これらの内容について学会で発表を行う予定である。 上昇中の燃料削減策については、航空機の上昇中にエンジン推力を減らすことにより、エンジン効率を高め、燃料消費が1フライトあたり10~60ポンド程度削減可能な手法について提案を行った。この提案手法の実現を行うため、海外企業との連携を開始したが、新型コロナウィルス感染症による航空業界への打撃により、提携が停止することとなってしまった。本年度は、当初の予定を大きく変更する必要が出たため、新たな連携先の開拓、および、連携先なしで実施できる研究の内容について再考を行った。来年度以降は、再度研究を再開し、当初の予定とは異なる形になるが、新たな成果が出るよう努力していく予定である。

As for departure, first an airport operation simulation model was developed considering various uncertainties. Using the simulation model, a new algorithm of pushback time assignment was proposed. The proposed pushback time assignment strategy reduced the fuel burn of departure aircraft. As for arrival, arrival route was optimized at the existing airport where the pilot control was difficult. Based on the result, the relationship between flight distance and fuel consumption/pilot workload was revealed.
- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業 特別研究員奨励費, 特別研究員奨励費, 独立行政法人電子航法研究所, 2009 - 2009パイロットの操縦分析評価手法の開発と操縦モデル構築に関する研究パイロットの着陸操縦をモデル化することにより、人間パイロットがどのような操縦を行っているのか、およびパイロット間や飛行環境間における操縦特性の違いを解明する。特に操縦が難しいとされる着陸直前のフレアやデクラブと呼ばれる特殊な操作については、ニューラルネットワークによりモデル化を行った。航空会社のパイロットの協力を仰ぎ、実際に横風時やウィンドシア時といった飛行が困難な環境下の操縦データをシミュレータで取得し、モデル構築・解析を通して、パイロットがどのような操縦を行っているかを解明した。パイロットへのヒアリングも同時に行い、操縦の特徴が意識的に行われたかどうかについても考察した。さらに、ベテランと新人パイロットでどのように操縦手法が違うかについても考察を行い、その内容について学会発表を予定している。また、着陸を成功するためには、それに至るアプローチの操縦も重要であるとのパイロットの認識から、アプローチ時の操縦についても新たにモデル化手法を提案した。アプローチ操縦は最終着陸操縦に比べて相対的に簡易な操縦を行っていると考えられるため、ニューラルネットワークより簡易でありモデル構築が容易である、複数のステージを持つ線形回帰モデルを採用し、そのモデルの妥当性の検証結果を学会にて報告を行った。また、風の条件を変えた場合や、複数回の操縦における操作の一貫性といった部分まで言及を行い、その内容について論文に投稿し、掲載決定となっている。
