  本研究課題「ジンメル社交論という知の形態の可能性―ドイツ語圏社会学史の刷新とその現代的意義」の初年度である2023年度は、20世紀初頭になされたジンメルの社交論が取り上げられる歴史的および現代的コンテクストの把握と社交性思想史のなかでのジンメルの位置づけの解明に向けられた。 前者の研究は、ジンメルの社交論の1910年代から1920年代のドイツ語圏での受容を主題とし、『社会学の根本問題』への書評やフォン・ヴィーゼ、フィーアカントらの形式社会学、シュパンの普遍主義社会学を手掛かりとして探究した。ジンメルの社交論の評価が社会学の制度化・基礎づけの文脈で捉えられた場合、その議論の新規性とテーマの歴史性という二義性および「社交性」の解釈の幅が明らかになった。またその受容において十分に継承されなかった論点として、ジンメルが述べる「社交」はたんに社会の理念ではなく、そこに参加する人びとの具体性を要請しつつも個々人に還元できない匿名性をもって形成するという点が明らかになった。また現代的な受容のあり方として「ゾチオプルーデンツ（Sozioprudenz）」をめぐる議論として、社交論が欧州における礼儀作法や処世術の伝統的議論のなかに位置づけられるとともに、社交論一般が社会学の担う学習過程として制度化されていることが明らかになった。 後者の社交性思想史におけるジンメル社交論の位置づけの解明については、1799年のシュライアマハーの社交論とジンメルの社交論および個人主義論、演劇論を取り上げた。個性と共在という根本主題の変奏を捉えることで近代社会での社交的交流が個性を逆説的に可能にするさまを明らかにした。
