We have produced multiple research results---both theoretical and empirical---the structure of distribution systems suitable for platform-based businesses. These findings span a wide range of topics. For example, in response to the rise of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Rakuten, how should manufacturing firms reconsider their multi-channel management? How should they allocate sales between traditional supply chains and platform-based channels? Should platforms share the vast consumer data they possess---including behavioral patterns and preferences---with third-party sellers? By addressing such questions, this research aims to generate insights not only for the platforms themselves, but also for the various stakeholders within these platforms.
