  • Profile

My research focuses on the philosophy of the American philosopher and logician Charles S. Peirce, who was active from the 19th century to the early 20th century, and on contemporary philosophy of science (especially philosophy of physics). Some topics in the philosophy of science that I have been working on include the ontology of patterns, the problem of emergence, and the philosophy of time and space. I also maintain an interest in the history of scientific thought: by studying the works of such thinkers as Leibniz, Newton, and Gödel as well as Peirce, I am currently exploring the prospects for a new natural philosophy suitable for our times.

Real Pattern Emergence: A Study of Patternhood, Generality, and Emergent Behavior from a Peircean Perspective"と題する博士論文においてまとめた。
