- This study aims to investigate the relationship between students' assignment submission behavior and final grades in information literacy education using a large volume of learning logs stored on the LMS. A total of 12,516 freshman students participated in this study from the year 2018 to 2022, across the COVID-19 pandemic. The students were divided into high, medium, and low performance groups using k-means clustering. The results of the characteristics analysis show a significant early submission behavioral trend and a late submission behavioral trend in high and low performance groups, respectively. The on-demand class format during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in more consistent early submission behavior for high performance students and late submission behavior for low performance students, respectively. - Aegagropila linnaei is a filamentous green algal species that often forms beautiful spherical shapes called "lake balls" or "Marimo". A. linnaei were once globally distributed around the world, but the population has been declining for several decades. Lake Akan, in Japan, is now the only lake in the world with a colony of giant Marimo (over 20 cm in diameter). Here we show the net growth rate of Marino resulting from photosynthesis and decomposition based on laboratory experiments, MRI analysis, and quantitative element analysis, which show the decomposition rate, the maximum annual Marimo diametric growth rate, and the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, respectively. We found an explicit dependence of the decomposition rate of Marimo on the cumulative water temperature, with a threshold of 7 °C. MRI analysis showed a high correlation among a Marimo's diameter, surface thickness, and annual diametric growth rate. Moreover, the C/N ratio was high in the exterior side of the surface thickness, indicating that this layer is the main growth area for photosynthesis. These results suggest that the central cavity and the surface thickness represent the change in the growth environment such as water temperature and light intensity. Between the 1980s and the present, Between the 1980s and the present, the cumulative water temperature has increased from about 1250 to about 1600 °C-days. Therefore, the maximum surface thickness has decreased by approximately 1 cm, as estimated by water temperature records and annual diametric growth rates10. - Aegagropila linnaei are natural monuments of Japan and in danger of extinction. However, the formation of Marimos has been unresolved. For the clarification of the creation of Aegagropila linnaei, a numerical computation is one of the most powerful techniques, such as a Distinct Element Method (DEM). We attempted to estimate two significant parameters for DEM, elastic modulus and viscosity coefficients of Aegagropila linnaei by applying laboratory experiments, which revealed that two parameters are constant regardless of size and density. Furthermore, we investigated Marimos by using Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which allows non-destructive investigation of Marimos underwater. - Thermometry is the key factor for achieving successful thermal therapy. Although invasive thermometry with a probe has been used for more than four decades, this method can only detect the local temperature within the probing volume. Noninvasive temperature imaging using a tomographic technique is ideal for monitoring hot-spot formation in the human body. Among various techniques, such as X-ray computed tomography, microwave tomography, echo sonography, and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, the proton resonance frequency shift method of MR thermometry is the only method currently available for clinical practice because its temperature sensitivity is consistent in most aqueous tissues and can be easily observed using common clinical scanners. New techniques are being proposed to improve the robustness of this method against tissue motion. MR techniques for fat thermometry were also developed based on relaxation times. - The MR-endoscope system can perform magnetic resonance (MR) imaging during endoscopy and show the images obtained by using endoscope and MR. The MR-endoscope system can acquire a high-spatial resolution MR image with an intraluminal radiofrequency (RF) coil, and the navigation system shows the scope's location and orientation inside the human body and indicates MR images with a scope view. In order to conveniently perform an endoscopy and MR procedure, the design of the user interface is very important because it provides useful information. In this study, we propose a navigation system using a wireless accelerometer-based controller with Bluetooth technology and a navigation technique to set the intraluminal RF coil using the navigation system. The feasibility of using this wireless controller in the MR shield room was validated via phantom examinations of the influence on MR procedures and navigation accuracy. In vitro examinations using an isolated porcine stomach demonstrated the effectiveness of the navigation technique using a wireless remote-control device.2013, Conference proceedings : ... - The aim of the work described here was to develop a magnetic resonance (MR) technique for guiding a Focused Ultrasound Surgery (FUS) focal point to a specific target in the liver, which is mobile and deforms with respiration. In the present approach, vessels were used as landmarks for liver tissue tracking. The translational distances and amount of expansion and contraction of the tissue were analyzed by locating the center of gravity of veins by filtering the sagittal, cine MR images of the liver during free breathing. Target locations at which the FUS foci were to be located were identified using information provided by the positions of the veins at each time point. In healthy volunteer experiments (N=2), the lower limit of the spatial matrix dimension for delineating the contour of the veins was 128×128. The average displacement of the liver was 19.6±3.6 mm in the superior-inferior (SI) direction and 3.1±1.4 mm in the anterior-posterior (AP) direction. The deformation was 3.7±1.1 mm in the SI direction and 3.0±1.2 mm in the AP direction. The gaps between the actual and the estimated target points were 0.7±0.5 mm SI, 0.6±0.4 mm AP, and 1.0±0.5 mm linearly with the vessel combinations used in this work. Temperature elevations simulated by using a bio-heat transfer equation revealed that the temperature elevation loss around the center of the focus in the liver under target tracking was about 20% of that occurring with breath holding. According to the survey results, the authors discussed the curriculum of information education in higher education should support students who have not studied expansive area. - Magnetic Resonance Thermography Using Water Proton Chemical Shift : Preliminary Results on Self-referenced Technique for Motion Compensation(PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONICS OF TOKAI UNIVERSITY)Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is known to be the only modality for non-invasive imaging of internal organ temperature under thermal therapies. The thermal change in the phase evolution of the macroscopic magnetization vector has been obtained as the temperature indicator in the conventional method by subtracting the phase at each voxel before heating from that after heating. In the moving organ such as liver, however, the voxel-by-voxel phase subtraction process becomes problematic because of the change in the tissue position and the magnetic flux. To overcome this problem, we have proposed a "self-referenced" method, in which the reference phase value without thermal change is estimated based on the spatial continuity of the phase distribution around the treated tissue region. - In the external beam radiotherapy, it is required to optimize the number of beams, the beam angles, and the strength of irradiation, which deliver the lethal dose to the tumor while limiting the dose absorbed in the normal tissue with fewer beams. In this study, we formulate this problem as a multiobjective linear programming, and propose a planning method to balance the dose distribution and the number of beams by using satisficing trade-off method. An aspiration level to each concerning point specifies the planner's direction for each objective. Therefore, we applied cluster analysis to classify the objective functions, enabling the planner to set up aspiration levels for clusters rather than each objective, which significantly ease the planning task. - In the external beam radiotherapy treatment of cancer, it is important to plan the treatment so that the irradiated energy the tumor is sufficiently high while the dose level at the normal tissue is made as small as possible. In planning a treatment with multiple beams, it is necessary to optimize the position and the intensity of the sources of radiation. In this study, we proposed a treatment planning method by using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), which can control the number of beams, comsidering the operational feature of the treatment. - X-ray Computerliged tomography (CT) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) - CT images are usually obtained as a series of two -dimensional images. We have to reconstruct the three -dimensional shapes from those cross sectional images. Surface models as well as solid models are used to represent the three dimensional images. This paper proposed a triangulation algorithm based on some criteria by using the directed graph theory together with dynamic programming (DP) to reconstruct the three -dimensional surface model. For the MRgFUS of moving organs like a liver, the target tracking technique to “lock on”the focal spot at target tissue region regardless to the respiratory motion is required.In the study, the tracking techniques were proposed and demonstrated based on the displacement and deformation analysis of a liver using multi slice MR images and stereoscopic thick-slab images.Competitive research funding
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Kobe University, 2007 - 2008アスベスト肺とそれに伴う中皮腫の自動診断システムを開発した。アスベスト肺と中皮腫の高い精度での診断はかなり困難であるが、X線ヘリカルCTを用いた3次元画像情報を基に自動診断システムを作り、放射線科医や呼吸器内科医の診断の支援システムを作成した。システムについて精度を測定するためにROC解析を行い、統計的に明らかに精度が向上することが証明された。Competitive research funding

The major research results are listed as follows: 1.Concept and Modeling tools of DVF (1)A distributed virtual factory concept is proposed to develop a large scale manufacturing system based on distributed simulation technology. As basic tools to construct a DVF, communication interfaces for various simulation languages in the market and the synchronization mechanisms, named time bucket methods, are developed. (2)Virtual factories manufacturing discrete type products and continuous type products are developed by integrating simulators of sub-factories. (3)A production management system in the market is implemented as a factory management system of the constructed DVFs. Know-hows for the implementation of management systems in general are obtained through the experience. (4)Adaptation and updating mechanisms of simulation models to the dynamically varying real manufacturing system is investigated and basic insights for next generation simulation systems are attained. (5)Cost based evaluation of system performance is proposed in addition to the time and quantity based evaluation in the past. Activity based costing (ABC) method is adopted and a prototype system is developed for the models in this research. 2.Application and extended studies of DVF for strategic decision making (1)DVFs constructed in the research are utilized in various studies to improve the manufacturing systems in hardware configurations and operational policies, demonstrating the importance and effectiveness to investigate the system from the global view of DVF in addition to the local views of sub-factories. The usefulness and effectiveness of cost based evaluation is also experienced throughout the studies and the importance of a DVF with cost based evaluation function is confirmed as the future tool in strategic decision making in the factory planning and management. (2)Artificial market and virtual enterprises are extensively studied from the viewpoint of the complex economy. The studies not only revealed important insights of the objective systems but also suggested the importance of utilization of DVF in the decision making necessitated in the supply chain management.Competitive research funding

- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 一般研究(B), 神戸大学, 1991 - 1992平成3年度の研究をさらに発展させると共に,その成果を基礎として,以下の研究を推進し,成果を得た.1.分散型シミュレーション・システムの実験環境の整備 分散型シミュレーションに関する技術的問題とその解決法について実験的に考察するため,本研究で導入した機器を用いて分散型情報処理環境を構築し,様々なシミュレーション・システムを評価しうる環境を整えた.2.分散型シミュレーションのための同期法の検討 分散型シミュレーション・システムを構築するためには,システムを構成する各計算機の遂行するシミュレーションの進行を調整し,同期をとることが必要である.従来から提案されている同期法の適用可能性の検討を行うとともに,大規模な生産システムを取り扱うのに適した同期法について検討し,シミュレーション・システムの開発を行った.3.CIM環境を想定した実験的仮想生産システムの試作 CIMの計画段階及び運用段階における分散型シミュレーションの使用について考察Competitive research funding

- 日本学術振興会, 科学研究費助成事業, 一般研究(C), 神戸大学, 1989 - 1990生産時点情報管理(Point Of Production)は,コンピュータ統合生産(CIM)システムを効率的に運用するために重要である.より高い生産性を実現するためには,POPシステムによって得られるリアルタイム性の高い,精密な情報の利用法と,その評価法について検討を行うことが必要となる.本研究では,それらに対して次のような成果を得た.・日程計画やスケジューリングは,生産性に大きく影響する.スケジューリングに対して,POP情報の最も有効な使用法として考えられることは,工場現場の状況と計画のずれをリアルタイム的に検知し,計画に修正を加え,その新しい計画を即座に現場に伝達するというリスケジューリング機能への適用である.本研究では,POP情報を得られることを前提とした,リスケジューリングの実行タイミングの具体的な決定法を開発し,その有効性をシミュレーションにより示した.・CIMのようなシステムを評価するためには,工場内の生産性だけでなく,経済性等の面から総合的に評価する必Competitive research funding
