  民俗研究としての絵馬資料への感心が高まっている。本稿は、明治期に1村社に大量に残された参詣行列絵馬を記録として読み解き、神社所蔵文書や行政文書も含めて、絵馬奉納のホストとしての洛外の1村社と絵馬/奉納者との関係、その変化に注目し、絵馬と近代社会との関係を考える。

  研究実績は、主に以下の2点である。 （１）科研費共同研究の成果として『＜ひと＞から問う世界史』の出版に向けて、編集・執筆に着手した。本書は全3巻構成である。第1巻『「ひと」とはだれか？――身体・セクシュアリティ・暴力』（三成美保・小浜正子・鈴木則子編）、第2巻『「社会」はどう作られるか？――家族・労働・文化』（久留島典子・姫岡とし子・小野仁美編）、第3巻『「世界」をどう問うか？――地域・戦争・環境』（井野瀬久美恵・長志珠絵・粟屋利江編）である。各巻の編者はすべて本科研研究分担者である。依頼した執筆者は、本科研の研究分担者や研究協力者を中心に100名以上に及ぶ。科研研究の成果であるため、大学出版会からの刊行として執筆者の印税はなしとし、広く学校教育や大学教養教育・市民教育に資するものとする。各巻300頁程度とし、2022年冬に出版を予定している。本企画の特徴は、ジェンダー研究の成果を明確にするために、「ひと・家族・国家」という構成をとること、項目とコラムを適宜取り混ぜ、最先端の研究成果をわかりやすく読者に提供すること、アジア諸地域に関する記述を大幅に増やし、世界史の中にアジア史を位置づけることを目指したことである。 （２）コロナ禍で対面シンポジウムが不可能になったため、本科研独自の新企画として、オンラインの国際シンポジウム「アジアジェンダー研究・ウェビナーシリーズ」（全5回程度を予定）を開始した。日英等の同時通訳を入れ、活発な議論ができるよう配慮した。第1回「家父長制についてー南アジアのジェンダー研究から」（2022年1月28日）、第２回「近代国家形成と家名ータイと日本の比較から」（2022年3月8日）を開催し、成果は本科研の専用WEBサイト（比較ジェンダー史研究会）に掲載している。招待講演は動画をアップし、コメントは文章（英訳予定）を掲載して、国際的発信を目指している。


• 占領期エゴドキュメントをめぐる思想史文化史的検討と目録化に向けた実証的研究

  今年度もコロナ禍のため当初の計画と異なり、関係者のインタビューや海外調査等によって研究を進めることはできなかった。またアウトプットについても国際シンポジウム等は中止延期となった。このため改めて、主題の神戸基地の女性軍属が残した私的手紙をエゴ・ドキュメントとしてとらえ、読み解く作業をめぐって前年度の作業に引き続いての、英文翻訳のブラッシュアップをはかるとともに、エゴ・ドキュメント論の社会思想史的な広がりを見通す作業をすすめた。占領期の前提としての総力戦下での民間人の動向を視野にいれる一方で、特に、占領期の日米女性政策が人的にも交差する場としての、労働省婦人少年局の存在に注目し、国内を中心に、その関係資料を渉猟した。申請者はかつてこれらのアーカイブ を米国プランゲ文庫寄贈のコレクションによって一定量を収集していたが、あらためて日本側の女性政策とその思想を検証する作業をすすめた。 旧労働省婦人少年局の占領期資料は、同局が女性政策としての女性労働という新たな思想性を伴う領域を発見し、積極的に社会への広報活動を行なっていたため、ポスターやリーフレット、紙芝居などモノ資料として豊富な点もその特徴である、また人的思想的には戦間期の米国ニューディール政策や米国女性局との占領軍軍属女性たちを介した直接の関係を持つ。これらをアーカイブ論、ポスト戦争後としての、女性の民主化をめぐる新たな思想潮流としての再検討を進めた。原稿としてのアウトプットとしても進み、査読を経て掲載決定の論考の初稿が出ている段階である。他方、社会的な活動としては、新たな高校歴史教科書「歴史総合」をめぐるシンポジウムでのコメントなどもつとめた。なお翻訳および史料読解としての出版物成果は次年度を予定している。


• Interdisciplinary Reconsideration of Collective Memories after the Mnemological Turn

  本事業は、「歴史にとって記憶の問題とは何だったのか」という共通の課題設定のもとで、「記憶論的転回以後」の集合的記憶に関する言説状況を検討し、東アジア、ヨーロッパ、中東、アフリカの事例研究を空間的に広げて総括してきた。また、二十世紀後半以後の時系列に即して、個々の社会的コンフリクトのフェーズことに記憶の動態分析も行ってきた。その場合、モーリス・アルヴァックスの概念設定に端を発し、ドイツのヤン・アスマンやアライダ・アスマンの概念装置などにも立脚しながら自覚的に記憶と忘却の反省的理論として整理することをめざしてきている。また、とくに本事業の取組みの焦点となるのは、メモリースタディーズの高度化によって獲得された知見や語彙の明示化であり、また記憶論的転回以後に起こっている歴史像の分断や二極化という劇症化したコンフリクトの分析であった。 これまでにも、記憶に関するブレーンストーミングのワークショップなどを開催し、①国民国家の記憶に関するヨーロッパボーダーランド地域の個別研究、②戦後東アジアの記憶の再検討、③記憶と忘却の動態の理論化、④記憶と忘却のレキシコンの作成などに、ひとつひとつ取り組んできた。そうしたなかで、研究分担者からは、新たに意識化されたハザードスタディーズの一環としての記憶の語りや、近年のレイシズム再来現象についても、災害の記憶やコロニアリズムの記憶という論点として、積極的に組み込んでいくべきであるという提案があり、それらを通じて事業計画の視野はより豊かになってきている。

  The purpose of our joint research was to build a "new world history" from a gender perspective. Therefore, we focused on sexuality, family and sexual violence. None of these are topics that have received much attention in traditional historical studies. Our study group held several symposiums every year and each member published the research results as books or academic papers. In September 2014, the website of Comparative Gender History Study Group was opened. The number of accesses has already exceeded 1.7 million. Recently, there are 2000 to 3000 accesses per day. The purpose of "information dissemination to citizens" was fully achieved. We plan to publish three volumes at the end of 2021, which reflect the results of our joint research.

  We have succeeded to some extent in networking of victims, memory successors and researchers of air raids, not only between Japan and Germany. The results of our research activities have been reflected in the individual research papers and the conference reports. At the last stage all the participants of the research project made together the theme session "boundary of memories of air raids - beyond time, space and science" at the seventh conference of the Society for Sociology of Warfare and wrote essays to the journal that was edited by this scientific society.

  This research project aimed to gender issues in natural disaster recovery and disaster risk reduction by the long-term field research in Japan (the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Chuetsu Earthquake, and the Great East Japan Earthquake), South Korea (Seoul city), Taiwan (Taichung city, Kaohsiung City and Taipei City), the United States (New Orleans city and New York State), Italy and Germany. The project pointed out that natural disaster victims take special assistances such as providing and support house and measures for livelihood reconstruction by governments and others. There are some cracks between the disaster victim assistances and the social security system. So it can be named “Disaster Victims Regime.” We also advanced the policy proposals, opinions and suggestion of the law revision according to the international comparative research outcomes.

  We revealed three points in 'comparative history of masculinities'. (1)'History of masculinities' is a field of gender history and to be distinguished from 'history of men'. It plays an important role to lead 'gender mainstream in history'. (2)'Masculinity' has various meanings and is not necessarily the property of men. Discrimination between'hegemonic and subordinated masculinity 'depends on the age and society. (3) Concept of 'homosexuality' appeared in 19^ century and private monosexual relationships often determined the personal ties in the public sphere(political, economic and military).

  The present study investigated historical changes in the awareness of the female body during the process of marginalization(deterioration in socialstatus) of women in Japan's history focusing on five main aspects : medicine, sanitation, religion, geography, and childbirth/menstruation. Perspectives on the female body in traditional and modern medicine, the significance of women's roles in modern health policies, transitions in the recognition of women in Buddhism and Shinto, and the formation of community responses to impurity associated with bleeding were clarified.

  This study is an attempt to consider Public memory of the war, was a national cultural documents, and to appropriate the focus to Occupied Japan. This research is an attempt to reconsider Public memory of the war as a national cultural thought and historical material, and to appropriate the focus to Occupied Japan As a new attempt, appropriated the focus to Occupied Japan, discovered the unknown event from Historical documents open to the public recently, and tried analysis as a text. As a result, the structure at Occupied Japan became clear more by the uneven distribution of the documents. For instance, even when it was the same recognition, occupation forces and Japanese Government were able to confirm various gaps between local governments over the record of the same event. The following researches were advanced in the final fiscal year. Study of the dead recognition because of war recognition of occupied Japan (Is it Soldier or is it a civilian? It relates to the air raid victim recognition the relation to the culture of the peaceful remark theory and the serviceman valuing.) Besides this, the occupation forces documents of Okinawa (documents;USCAR) is examined, the relation between the monument of the Okinawa war and the war dead monument in the Japanese Soldiers were discussed. It announced as these results by the publication of the article (by Osa2007) and the international symposium and with the society (by ShizueOsa' Construction of space of The hill of MABUNI- Memories of the war and Space formation-; The society of the War(1931-1945)s' Societybulletin, No.114, 2008.4, PP2. Moreover, the announcement already thesis is a publication schedule to new as single Osa 'Memory of the war in the occupation space (temporary)' (Publisher 有志舎) by the research representative in addition of new documents and records in the autumn of 2008.

  Narita Ryuichi and Toba Koji, Sato Izumi, Iwasaki Minoru, Michiba Chikanobu, Tobe Hideaki have monthly workshop deal with "JINMIN BUNGAKU" which is the magazine of circle movement. They published the result of workshop as supplement of "GENDAI SHISO" (SENGO MINSYU SEISINNSI =The popular mentality of Post-war Japan 2007. 12)."GENDAI SHISO" includes three articles which they wrote. One is "Shimomaruko Bunkasyudan and his era" and the other is "Ezima Kan", which are written by Michiba. And this magazine includes Iwasaki's article titled "Between the Poem and work",also."GENDAI SHISO" has also reprinted the clnology concerning the Shimomaruko Bunkasyudan written by Kido Noboru,and the articles concerned the circle magazine published in Shimomaruko aria, for example "Tanpopo" "Aburasashi". So, "GENDAI SHISO" is very useful for research the era of 1950's history in Japan, especially in cultural history. And they ordered the circle magazine which Hamaga Tomohiko has collected. Osa Shizue researched AmamiIsland,and Toba researched the circle magazine in Hokkaido. Narita, Iwasaki and Toba participated the international conference in Columbia University in 2004-2007 hosted by MJHW (Modern Japanese History Workshop). They reported the cultural history in 1950's in Japan. And Toba and Ikegami reported in the TURUMI KAZUKO Symposium in Kyoto in 2007.


• Comparative Studies about Literary Expressions by National Minorities and Multilingualism as its Background

  Since more than a century, imperialism and nation-states have not only suppressed and marginalized minority languages., but also domesticated people to be bi-or multi-lingual 20^ century's literature, however, could not adjust itself to this condition by giving birth to bi-or multi-lingual texts but produced various experimental efforts to reflect and criticize its condition. We have tried to write another worldwide literary history from this point of view. Postcolonial readings of Shakespeare's Tempest in Latin America and Caribbean area, Japanese writing before and after the end of Asian-Pacific War, musically versed expression of Japanese immigrants in Hawaii and oral histories of Palestinian refugees in diaspora state have supplied us with the materials for our collaborative research. Comparative studies between situation of intellectuals in French Martinque and that in Japanese Okinawa, or between U.S. military occupations in Japan about sixty years ago and in Iraq at present have made clear the continuity of globalization process. And Walter Benjamin's thought on the eve of the Holocaust have been closed up anew by its prophetic criticism. Faced to the overwhelming pressure of globalization we are required to adopt comparison as a method.


• Cold War and Gender in East Asia

  We have made researches into "The Cold War in East Asia from the viewpoint of gender" and achieved good results like this: 1. Comparative studies on the State regulated prostitution system in East Asia after the WW II We made researches into the regulated prostitution system of the south Korea, Taiwan, Okinawa and mainland of Japan after the WW II and we have made it clear that those areas where Imperial Japan had implanted its regulated prostitution system reorganized the system into new type of regulation system which accorded with the interests of U.S. during the cold war era. Through the researches we have challenged the widely-accepted notion that the Asian state regulated prostitution systems were abolished thanks to U.S. and women were liberated through the enactment of the Prostitution Preventive Law thanks to U.N. 2. Studies on the history of women in Japan during the cold war era We have made researches into the experiences of women who were living near U.S. bases, who were residents of Korean community and who joined women's peace movement by making fieldwork to many areas of such prefectures like Akita, Oita, Yamaguchi, Hyogo, Kyoto, Shizuoka, Miyagi and Aomori. We especially paid attention to 3 topics; "rape cases of U.S. soldiers and survivors' experiences", "Koreans involvement in prostitution around U.S. bases" and "The straggle of Matsuda Tokiko who wrote about the massacre in Hanaoka". Thorough the researches we have found that many women and resident Koreans were victimized in the cold war system, that the victims were often accused of their fault, although American assailants were never accused and that women were hot only passively victimized but also actively resisted the violence of U.S. soldiers and the order of the cold war.

Our society for scientific research excavated some new informations of OkAMURA Tsukasa, TAKATA Yasuma, KAWATA Shiro. On the other hand, studies of SASAKI Soichi, TSUCHIDA Kyoson, NISHIDA Kitaro have been an nounced. The fruit of such studies are published by 'MEMOIRS OF INSTITUTE OF HUMANITIES,HUMAN AND SOCIAL SCIENCES,RITSUMEIKAN UNIVERSITY' No.65 (Studies on Liberalism in Modern Kyoto), No.70 (CONTENTS Studies on Liberalism in Modern kyoto). Besides we collected materials for the study of OKAMURA'S dairy etc, ・・・. And we bought SASAKI S., TAKATA,Y'S books. Elsewhere we drew up literature's list of liberarists in Modern Kyoto.


• 近代日本における「国語」運動とその思想

  提出した研究計画に沿って、「近代日本の国語」をめぐる通時的・共時的な関わりに留意して研究を進めた。1つは、国学言語論の明治における変容について焦点をあてた。具体的には、国語の中でも平田篤胤以降の音義言霊派と称される国学者グループの言語論とその展開を辿り、その影響下、明治の学制期での50音図の教育隆盛とその意味づけについて扱った(『江戸の思想』2所処論文、一九九五年一〇月発行)。 他方、植民地における「国語」政策についても関心を広げた。初期の台湾での「日本語」教育政策やその考え方(言語観、文法規範の形成等)について、キ-パースン(例えば伊沢修二)や教科書を綿密に検討しながら、これと国内での「国語」問題との関連を扱った。これまで選集などによって論じられてきた領台初期における伊沢修二の言語問題への取組みについては、『台湾教育会雑誌』、国会図書館や下伊那郷土資料館伊沢修二文庫に所蔵されている中国語テキストなどを収集、国内での言語問題に連動づけた、国家形成と言語との関わりをまとめつつある。さらに、明治20年後半から積極的な活動を行う地方教育会の活動、ことに方言辞書の編纂と、中国・韓国への派遣問題を整理中である。なお、教育会の方言問題をめぐっては、『現代民族学の視点』第2巻「民族のことば」所収論文(一九九六年一〇月刊行予定)にまとめた。なお、当初の計画で目標とした方言問題と植民地言語との関連をめぐっての本格的な検討はこれからの課題である。
