    2021年度はオンラインを中心に、新型コロナウイルス感染症によって遅滞していた研究状況が一転して動き始めた。国内外の研究者との学術交流が再び活発化し、一昨年度より延期されていた国際独文学会パレルモ大会での口頭発表（ゲーテの『メルヒェン』論）もオンラインで行われた。これは高い評価をえて国際論文集掲載の依頼があったため、発表内容を論文化して提出した（未刊）。ただしパレルモ出張と同時に予定していたトリノ大学やローマ第二大学の研究者との面会・ワークショップは延期となっている。 国内では、産総研で「ゲーテと化学」についての招待講演を行い、一般雑誌『未来哲学』にはホムンクルス論を寄稿するなど、研究成果をひろく学際的・社会的に提示し検討する機会に恵まれた。また阪神ドイツ文学会シンポジウムとして「プネウマ、スピリトゥス、ガイスト――概念史点描の試み」をオンライン企画・開催し、本科研の成果を発表した。 並行してアレクサンダー・フォン・フンボルトの主著『コスモス』翻訳にも継続的に取り組んでおり、その成果を生かしてリアリズム文学研究会での研究発表を行った。一昨年度に執筆していた哲学者ヘルマン・カイザーリンクのゲーテ受容についての独語論文も刊行された。 さらに当該年度末には、所属機関である神戸大学大学院人文学研究科を中心に、新学術領域「雰囲気学」創設のための若手研究者チームを立ち上げた。これは本科研の「雰囲気の思想史」を包摂するものとして構想されており、この枠組みによって本科研の内容がさらに多面的に展開することが見込まれる。

  • プネウマからガイストへ──古代ギリシアからゲーテにいたる人間三元論の系譜

    本研究は、<魂><精神><身体>からなる「人間三元論」の系譜について、「プネウマ」から「ガイスト」にいたる概念の連なりに着目しつつ多角的に考察するものである。 当年度は、茶谷と久山のそれぞれが発展させてきたギリシア哲学研究(プネウマ・プシュケー研究)とドイツ文学・思想研究(ガイス ト・ゼーレ研究) を発展的に継続させつつ、相互的な討議を行うことで、ひとまとまりの系譜論の構築をめざす作業を昨年度に引き続き遂行した。 一連の作業を通じての本科研最重要の実績は、2021年12月12日に阪神ドイツ文学会シンポジウムとして「プネウマ、スピリトゥス、ガイスト――概念史点描の試み」をオンライン開催したことである（本科研が共催）。本シンポジウムでは茶谷がアリストテレス、久山がゲーテについて発表したほか、河合成雄氏（神戸大学教授）がフィチーノ、蘆田祐子氏（神戸大学博士課程後期課程）がシュティフターについてそれぞれ論じ、プネウマからスピリトゥスをへてガイストにいたる概念史を素描した。本科研が計画していたヨーロッパ思想史再検討の一端がこれによって実現したと言える。この実績は、本科研の最終的な目的である、プネウマとガイストをめぐる論文集刊行に向けてた蓄積作業を大きな柱の一つとなるものである。 その他久山は、昨年度より延期されていた国際独文学会での口頭発表（ゲーテの『メルヒェン』論）をオンラインで行った。これは高い評価をえて国際論文集掲載の依頼があったため、発表内容を論文化して提出した（未刊）。また産総研でゲーテと化学についての招待講演を行い、一般雑誌『未来哲学』にゲーテ・ホムンクルス論を寄稿するなど、国内でも研究成果をひろく学際的ないしは社会的に提示し検討する機会に恵まれた。

  • Goethe's Concept of "Geist" in the History of Ideas (1770's-1830's)

    In this research project I collected and analysed Goethe` s usages of the German word "Geist" from his early theological thesis (Zwo Biblische Fragen, 1773) and Urfaust (before 1775) through his morphological research (1780`s-1820`s) to his latest works as Wilhelm Meisters Wanderjahre (2nd version, 1829) and Faust II (1831). As a result, I found a paradoxical structure in Goethe`s temporized concept of Geist: He saw the past and future as an "atmospheric" glance of presence of Geist, which in his terms cannot be grasped by itself, but only as an indirect phenomena such as in atmospheric manner. The latest works show furthermore the ironical and mystifying usage of the term "Geist", which can be understood as a playful self-reflection of old Goethe.

  • The poetic genealogy of the Satan. Confrontation with the gnosticism

    Without knowing the images of the evils, we can hardly claim to understand the true profiles of Europe. In order to conjure up the “portrait of the Satan” the members of this research project (Dieter Trauden, Yuho Hisayama and Yoshito Takahashi) regularly met and extensively read the texts from medieval ages to the 18th century (in medieval German and Latin) as well as research literature, and rigorously exchanged our views in German. The researchers proudly report that they now have fairly clear understanding of the implications presented by the following topics: The Christianity and the Gnosis, Lucifer, Eva and the original sin, the Drama of Theophilos and veneration of the Virgin Mary, witches and the criticism by the nominalism, Tristan and Isolde’s love and the Renaissance of the 12th century, Erasmus contra Luther, Kant’s Radical Evil contra D. Hume and J. J. Rousseau, etc.
